Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 3

Now then, at least now they didn't have that storm hanging over their heads. That was one improvement. Now they just needed a decent hit. Something to clip this little nestling's wings so he could stop evading them so easily. At this point she was just about over his attitude and his fancy footwork. Especially with the duel now more then half over.
It shouldn't be this tedious. They needed to focus. Most of all she needed her partner to stay on her feet.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Thomas had his eye on one target and one target only. Santario was looking a little bit worse for wear, Willow wondered how much more she could withstand before falling. The brilliant Eagle's spell striked true, setting Santario's robes aflame. Illowy had the same idea, trying to set Thomas aflame to get a steady damage going on him. Both him and Illowy were in fairly good shape still. Santario decided to take a defensive move, encasing Thomas in a thick fog. This move was always a double-edged sword, making it hard to hit him but also making it hard for him to aim. It also made it hard to see him, which was a little bit disappointing.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 3
Dodging spells like no one’s business, Thomas beamed as he felt his flames connect with his intended target. Naturally, that joy immediately shriveled up and died upon noticing the fog roll in. Tom had a grudge against spells that prevented him from being able to see, there was nothing more frustrating to the boy than firing blind.
And so came his sigh, closer to a groan in that it was audible across the piste. "UGGGGH…" At least he wasn’t down yet, he thought to himself. Thomas could certainly be in a worse predicament.Action: As strategized!

Santario’s breath came out as a hiss as the fire bit her skin and clothes. When the primary heat wave dissipated, she noticed the flame stuck to her robes like glue. She needed to buy them time. “Nebulus!” She managed to wheeze out as her hands found her knees. Bracing herself as she focused on breathing. The statistical likelihood of her remaining conscious in this duel was almost none. It seemed she had used all her good luck to get Pear out of the fight.

This was becoming more and more infuriating. There was nothing she liked less then her spells constantly missing their mark. Honestly! How could he keep dodging these spells so easily??
As the fog rolled in, she looked to her teammate, who was decidedly worse for the wear. Their time left standing together on the piste was waning. She figured they both knew it; and they needed to make whatever time was left count, "Yer alright, Martin." she encouraged, "Just a little longer." it didn't help that they weren't exactly sharing the weight of getting hit. Illowy had to commend, her partner had to be made of stone or something with the amount of hits she'd taken.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

It was truly a miracle that Santario was still standing. She looked to be on her last legs, barely clinging to consciousness. Herself and Illowy took the defensive position, both attempting to keep her up while the boy in fog casted a well placed knockback jinx. It was almost like karma was out for him, if such a thing existed in duelling, because a strike of lightning came down right after and hit him. Thomas and Illowy were in fine shape. But would Santario see the end of round 10?

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 3
Now this was just rude... Vaguely, Thomas was reminded of his duel against the Gryffindors that seemed to go on forever due to the constant healing done by his opponents. At the very least, his agony would likely not be prolonged due to the time limit, but it was the sort of duel that he wasn't fond of. This was no longer a battle of skill, just an exercise in futility, a thought that troubled him immensely. Even beating the odds against the fog was not enough to make him feel any better, his spell hitting home making little tangible difference in the grand scheme of things. His mood was soured further upon the realization that, admittedly, the chances of pulling off a similar feat were not stacked in his favor so to speak.

Thankfully Santario wasn’t the type to heal all the time. Healing last round was purely strategic and only spoke further of her skill. Strategy was not just knowing when and where to strike your enemy but also when to stall and retreat. “Cannot… Stall any longer. If he hits me this time, I am out, but you should be set up nicely to secure our victory.” Her words came out labored as unconsciousness already threatened to take her. If he hit her again, she was out, and it would take a miracle, or so it seemed, to get him to miss her. The other part of a good strategist was to know when to sacrifice yourself for the betterment of your team. Something most strategists were too arrogant to pull off.

We're they in a good spot as far as scoring a win. Yes. However, there's was no denying that there was no way they could keep Martin on her feet much longer, despite how hard they might try. There was a time and a place when the call had to be made. At least her partner would go out of the match with her boots on. She'd earned at least that much with how many hits the poor girl had taken. To try to convinced her to keep healing would be cruel, not to mention bad strategy.
Illowy pressed her lips in a tight line as co-captain spoke. Illowy had barely been able to touch the lad most of the duel, if at all. Honestly, she expected the remaining rounds to be quite the game of cat and mouse. Not that she was willing to give up quite that easily, "We've got this." Illowy assured.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Well, there were certainly spells cast this round. But only one of them hit. Santario miraculously was still standing strong. Maybe it was her weakened condition or being close to the end of the duel but Thomas was able to dodge the gust of wind. Thank goodness, because Thomas set himself aflame. His wand backfired in his hand, the fire traveling up his own robes rather than Santario's. Illowy was also foiled by Thomas' dodging skills, an elusive boy he was. There were 2 rounds left, and while it was still anyone's game the scales were tipping in the Slytherin's favor.
