This round progressed much like the ones before it; each team had a clear strategy. Callie and Delilah, no longer feeling the sting of impacted spells so acutely, returned to a double offensive, both lining up Knockback Jinxes at the youngest duellist on the stage. Katherine, maybe still out of it and dealing with the pain of burning, wasn't quick enough to avoid either of them. The spells impacted, hard, and she looked close to passing out.

In came Aurelia, right back at her Episkey casting. This one was an exceptional cast, perhaps fueled by the urgency of the state her teammate had been knocked into. With it, Katherine looked significantly better--still winded, but fine enough to retaliate with her own Flipendo that struck Callie evenly. Neither girl looked marvelous, but no one was down and with the way things had been going, their older teammates were well-prepared to pull them back from the edge.

And so the cycle continued. Katherine was still in, though rocked, Aurelia careful to keep her health up. The Gryffindors chipped away at Callie. How long could they maintain this until one side did just enough to gain the numbers advantage?

Spectator Thread

Lately Callie hadn't been particularly chatty, especially after almost dying twice in a few months. Situations like this only further pushed the girl into her self-imposed shell under the guise of being too focused on the matter at hand. Situations like this sucked royally and by now Callie had started to grow weary. Compared to her last few duels things seemed to be shifting along slowly and the girl wasn't sure if it was down to her own impatience or fustration.

"Gah! Come on already!" She called out partly out of fustration but mostly to taunt. What did she have to lose anyway? She was already cursed and seemed to taunt death on a regular basis. By now the girl was simply chasing the same rush of adrenaline that her first few duels had given her.

[font=Times new roman]Del could see that the Gryffindors were getting a bit tired, which was brilliant, but what was even more brilliant in dels mind was how things were still on the up, just getting better, they were able to hit kat as planned. Of course Del felt bad for Kat, as she did all of her opponents, and would likely be assisting in healing her once this duel was over, same with aurelia, should the ravenclaws win. If the ravenclaws lost, as soon as del was fit and healthy to do so, she would still be helping.

Fire was the theme of the round. Katherine stuck to her Flipendos, but everyone else had opted for a wave of green flame. The stage would no doubt heat up a few degrees, lingering even after the sparks had faded. Fire, of course, was one of the nastier spells available to a duellist but resorted to strategically; the lingering effects of fire were needed to overcome the repeated efforts by the fifth years on each side to heal. It would surely be a sight to see, a bright spectacle. Cool, if you didn’t think too hard about the pain the duellists would be in when caught alight.

Gryffindor would deviate from their earlier patterns, and it would count for everything. Katherine was once again looking worse for wear, but Aurelia would set her sights on Callie. Her jet of fire just barely caught the Ravenclaw, catching on the edge of her sleeve. The third year would feel the sting, but was it worth it? For as Aurelia and Katherine opted for offense against Callie, both Ravenclaws were gunning for Katherine.

Katherine almost made it, nearly avoided Callie's spell. But Delilah's, scarily fast and accurate, had her stumbling as she tried to avoid it, enough to let Callie's fire clip her much the way she'd been touched by Aurelia's spell. She let off one last effort, a final Flipendo at Callie, but it didn't come particularly close, understandably so in her weakened state. The lion swayed, and for a second it looked like she might just hang in there, perhaps long enough for the flames on her robes to be put out and Aurelia to heal her. But then she fell, unconscious by the time she hit the floor.

"Stop!" The call came quickly, and only after it would Bridget allow a brief moment to be sure Katherine was down for good, that she wasn't just slowly fighting her way back up. She wasn't. Her next move would be to incant Extinguo to put out the fire that had caught on her, and then it was left to the medics to transfer her off the stage and handle reviving her.

That left it a two on one, frequently where the odds tipped dramatically. The duellists would have a few moments to catch their breath, to size each other up. Aurelia was alone, but also untouched, and Callie wasn't looking particularly great. How this went might come down to how the next few minutes played out. "Alright, resume."

[font=Times new roman]Delilah did have to admit, she was getting a little tired now, it was always around this point in the duel when she became a little out of breath, dodging the things she needed to, bouncing on the balls of her feet. Although this round she had nothing to dodge. She looked over to Aurelia who shouted towards her with a smile. "Don't worry, we will." She didn't mean it in a mean way, of course not, she had known Aurelia (although not too well, but she had seen her around) for years! There were very few people that Delilah Stewart would try to annoy, her default was to be nice, but she did like to win.

While things seemed to be going somewhat well, Callie was far too aware of how quickly things could descend into chaos. So much so that she barely registered the string of words that Katherine uttered before being whisked away. Simply put Callie's head was all over the place in a much more scatterbrained way than her usual brand of strange. "Anyone else getting hungry? I'm hungry." She mused as she prepared herself for the next round despite being a little worse for wear.
