He had been running scared when something grabbed him by the sleeve. He had been trying to flee and something had stopped him, forcing him to switch from flight to fight in a matter of moments. As he was getting dragged down, he spun to face the form, his mind not even registering it as a human. It was a form that was trying to take him down, trying to kill him. Kaegen didn’t have any friends save one here at Hogwarts, the thought that it could be someone trying to help was the farthest from his mind.
He didn’t have very much time and he had to do something now. Do something before it was too late. He had a plan, but it was going to be difficult to pull off. Whipping his wand in a hasty motion he hissed out the word for the spell, slightly off. Slightly wrong.
“Flippendo”
Kaegen was hit with the force of the misfired spell, a psychotic grimace on his face as the loud bang signalled him being shot away from the form. Away and up at and angle. Whatever that creature was, it would never see another sunrise. He replaced the wand in his hands with his slingshot as fast as he could, and fired a rock before he hit the ground. It was going to hit, that much he knew. The rock had flown straight enough, but not perfectly. He had been in the air, it wasn’t going to be a perfect shot.
It had been launched directly at the form’s back, instead of the head like he had intended. It was a small miracle he had been able to shoot it at all, considering the spell. He was a dead man as soon as his adrenaline went down and the boy knew it. Getting hit by a backfiring flippendo and still being able to launch the slingstone had been nothing short of a miracle. Even with enough adrenaline to hype a dragon running through his veins, Kaegen was feeling kinda dizzy.
His eyes darted to the side, mind somewhat cleared by the sudden impact. He saw the stables, and thought of the creatures inside. They might help him, might support him while he recovered. He had about 5 minutes before he was going to be eaten by the form that had taken him down, assuming the rock hadn’t broken through their spine. It wasn’t likely, considering he hadn’t had time to pull the sling back all the way, but there was always the hope.

The boy looked frantically from side to side and casted a spell. Mia could tell that it was going to be off as soon as the first syllable left his mouth. He was too hasty, too frantic.
"Flippendo"
It misfired. He took out his slingshot, and Mia curled into a tight ball on the floor. The small stone hit her in her back and she cried out in pain. Unfurling her body, Mia sat up and looked at Kaegen with wide, watery eyes. She sniffled and then shook her head. Don't show weakness Mia. She dried her eyes with her sleeve and did a quick check. Nothing was broken or ripped, but where the stone had hit her stung like hell. Mia winced and placed a hand on her back. Nothing was bleeding, though Mia was sure that Kaegen had given her a nasty bruise. Removing a hand from where it was on her back, Mia pulled out her wand from inside her robes. Not broken either. So she was at 100%, more or less.
"Merlin! What was that for?"
Mia frowned at Kaegen. She had tried to comfort him, as so many people had done to her. She never meant to pull him down, she regretted it now, but if the boy's first line of defense was casting a defensive spell, then Mia wasn't sure that she could help this boy. She sighed. She had pressured him, made him feel anxious. Now she had to pay.

Dymphna was only showing up to the festival for the sweets. Her Chocolate Frog collection wouldn't grow by itself so she bought five of them. A bit excessive but maybe this time she wouldn't end up with all of the same card. It had happened once before! Unfair, she thought as she tore one open, only to have the frog jump away. Well, it wasn't like she was paying for the chocolate exactly but still, what a waste. She followed it for a while, not planning on eating it off the ground but curious to see where it would lead. What did Chocolate Frogs get up to, if not being eaten?
However, she lost track when she bumped into an unfamiliar girl near the Chocolate Cauldron stand. "Oh, sorry," then a moment later, she spotted familiar faces that she hadn't seen in what felt like ages. "Delilah! Reid!" Though they were housemates, Dymph had spent more time outside of her common room than in it these days but she was extra careful not to end up in the hospital wing like last time. Studying was important but her health was too. She pulled her into a hug, "How've you been, Del?" She squeezed and let go just as quickly, grinning at Reid. It was a bit weird to give a boy a hug so instead, she knocked him with her shoulder. Had he always looked that tired? "Hey," she started in what she hoped was a calming voice. Maybe all he needed was a good cuppa and some sleep. "I haven't seen you lately." It wasn't like she had been camping out near the fireplace in hopes to see him but they had promised to study together there, hadn't they? "Chocolate Frog?" She offered to the both of them, "As long as I get to keep the cards."

Festival Grounds
Parcel lazily strolled around the festival grounds. Like most days, what he was wearing was his school uniform. Having never really had to be the master of his own wardrobe he always seemed to find it easiest to just wear the uniform. He was in school after all, so he didn’t think anyone would find it weird that he wore it.
He did not wear the robe tho, only the shirt, tie and sweater. He never really liked robes, it’s what old wizards wear... yuck!
Even though he was wearing his uniform he didn’t look much like a strapping young wizard. Mainly because he looked rather disheveled. His shirt wasn’t properly tucked in to his pants, so here and there a piece of shirt could be seen sticking out from under Parcel’s sweater. He had pulled the arms of his sweater up to the elbows and also, tried to do the same with the shirt, but it didn’t really sit right so he would often have to pull it back up. His hair was its usually, dark brown, unkempt crow’s-nest which never seemed to really lay itself down properly. Although he recently had his pants pressed and washed they already had a tint of green on the knees, from all the times he was crawling around on the ground exploring every inch of Hogwarts that he could.
On his face was a rather serene expression. Today was a day in which he was utterly happy. There was nothing he could complain about. The weather was nice, there was delicious breakfast in the great hall, he only had one class this morning and after that he had free time the rest of the day. OH! And there was the festival, and he had candy in his hand! All in all, a beautiful day!
Speaking of candy… Parcel looked down at the box in his hand. It was a square, white and red striped, box with a pointed ‘roof’ were you could open the wrapping. It was one of those candy boxes that all wizarding kids would recognize. “Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans” was written on the label of it.
Parcel had a love hate relationship with this particular candybrand. On one hand, the good ones tasted really good! But the bad side was that the bad ones tasted… well, really bad… But Parcel figured that the positive outweighed the negative and had decided to buy a box.
Sticking his fingers inside the opened box he pulled out a bright yellow bean. Popping it in his mouth his face goes from serenity to pure enjoyment. “Mmmm, lemon cake”.
While enjoying the lemon cake flavored bean Parcel walked past a wizard that was using his wand to make something that looked like birds made from ice. he had to stop just for a moment and look at the pretty birds flying around before disappearing in a “poff” of water after time went on. Going past the wizard, Parcel came out on what seemed to be the main ‘street’ of the festival grounds. Looking up at the sun in the sky he guessed it had to be around midday at least. Having gone out right after his morning class was over, and the fact that he didn’t know how to read the time from the sun, made it so that he was quite disoriented on what time of day it was. Well, the sun was still high on the sky and that was all that mattered to him.
Up until now he had been walking around by himself, not really even being at the festival yet. He had walked straight down to the first stall he had seen and bought the candy he now was enjoying. But after buying the candy he had walked of from the main field where the festival was taking place and instead found himself a quiet spot of grass to just relax on. He had even taken off his shoes and socks to feel the grass between his toes. He always liked letting his bare feet touch the grass, it helped him unwind.
Having sufficiently relaxed he had tied his shoes back on and was now back at the festival grounds.
There was a lot of students here already. Scanning around a little he saw several students, but no one he seemed to recognize. Parcel shrugged his shoulders and turned his attention back to all the stalls.
It wasn’t long until he heard a bit of a commotion, well, really, it wasn’t to loud, but it stood a bit out from the rest of the grounds. Turning away from the stall he was browsing Parcel noticed several students talking to each other in a somewhat tensed atmosphere.
From what Parcel gathered it seemed like some students was picking on a couple.
The first students he noticed was the two girls and the Ravenclaw boy that was standing around the couple. The girls seemed nice enough in them self, but the Ravenclaw boy was a bit weird. His eyes kept darting around all over the place. It almost seemed like he didn’t trust any of the other people, always assessing everything. “Wouldn’t that be tiresome?” Thinking it over it sounded quite tedious to Parcel. “The boy was probably no fun to have as a studybuddy… But probably pretty useful to be friends with if you went exploring?”. Parcel didn’t get any “good student” vibe from him, more the vibes of an animal, the ones you could find deep in the forest.
Now, the other two people, the couple, was a Hufflepuff girl and a Gryffindor boy. Parcel was pretty sure he had seen the boy before. It looked like the boy the Head of Gryffindor had used as a practicedummy before, on the Rictusemptra Tag. The girl was someone he was sure he hadn’t seen before.
They where standing really close to each other, just like a couple would. They were almost standing the same way Parcel’s parents would when they were about to kiss… “Yuck! Is that what they were about to do!? Were they about to kiss, but then the Ravenclaw boy and his two friends came up and stopped them? And that’s why they are tense now?” Perhaps the Ravenclaw boy wasn’t a bully then, Parcel would agree that the couple seemed to young to kiss. Parcel had learned from his father that only parents should kiss each other, because if you kiss a girl then it isn’t long until you become parents yourself. And Parcel was pretty sure that someone that seemed to be in the same class as him, was too young to be parents. He wasn’t even sure why they would kiss here in the first place. “Wasn’t that what bedrooms was for?”. This to was something he had learned from his father. That Parcel never should enter his parent’s bedroom after bedtime, because the bedroom was for very close kissing… “Why wouldn’t the couple just do that instead? Then the Ravenclaw boy wouldn’t be bothering them”
“But if the Ravenclaw boy and the two girls are bullying the couple, shouldn’t he himself then intervene? No one should have to be bullied for wanting to kiss… even tho it is pretty yucky…”
Parcel was contemplating if he perhaps should intervene… But ended up with the conclusion that it was better if he didn’t. The Gryffindor boy was at least a prefect if Parcel remembered correctly, so the couple should be able to take care of it themselves.
Parcel looked down into his box of candy beans trying to find one with an appetizing flavor. Finally deciding on a dark brown one he popped it in his mouth… “Yuck… Coffee flavor” Swallowing it down reluctantly he looked back up at the group of students.
“They seem to be splitting up, the couple probably fixed the situation themselves”. Looking over as the Ravenclaw boy was walking off with one of the other girls after him.
Suddenly seeing the Ravenclaw boy try to fire of a spell, failing, and then fire of a… a slingshot?... made Parcel widen his eyes a little. “It was probably for the best that I didn’t intervene in all that after all…”
Turning back around Parcel started inspecting the stall again. He looked down into his candy box, found a light blue bean and put it in his mouth “Oh, peppermint” Luckily this was one of the tasty ones.
While browsing the wares he let his mind wander again.
“I wonder if this is how it is to be a supporting character in one of the bedtime stories mother used to read?...” All in all, a good day thus far.

Aurelia had a basket of pastries in her hand. She had bought them for just two knuts. The vendors were friendly, she hasn’t been to a festive market before, it was bustling and laughter could be heard everywhere. She recognised a few faces, they were students form Hogwarts, but before she could get to them, her eyes lost track of them and they drifted of with the sea of people. The girl took a bite out of one of the croissants. They were still warm and fresh as the flakes crumbled in her mouth. It was delicious, even more scumptious than the food in Hogwarts.
The girl let a small yelp when she heard a deafening bang. She was familiar with the sound, it was a flipendo spell. Her head turned to see a boy thrown backwards. He probably cast an unsuccessful spell or had the spell cast on him. Aurelia was quite a distance from where he was, then in a spilt second, he had a slingshot in hand, with a rock pulled back. Aurelia immediately recognised him, it was Keagen, who else would be in possession of such a weapon?
She whipped her wand out of her pocket. She pointed it at him, attempting to disarm him, but he had already released the rock. The girl tall girl couldn’t see who he shot at as there were to many people obstructing her view. She hesitantly approached the area.
“Wingardium Leviosa,” she incantated as her wand was directed at the slingshot in the boy’s hand. With a swish and flick, the weapon was floating above the boy’s head. The brunette could tell he was anxious with his eyes darting all around. He also hadn’t fully recovered from the failed spell and looked stunned. Why had he even cast the spell in the first place?
“Keagen, breathe,” Aurelia said running up to him, trying to calm the anxious boy down. The girl knew she had to be alert still, she had seen the boy carrying a knife around him.

"Wingardium Leviosa"
Kaegen's slingshot-the one that he had used to harm her, was suddenly above his head. A girl ran towards them, her brown hair flying behind her. She looked vaguely familiar, and Mia squinted at her figure in the distance. She must have known Kaegen because she then crouched down and tried to comfort him.
“Kaegen, breathe.”
The girl looked at him with sympathetic eyes and Mia felt a stab of something. Some negative emotion was flooding her system. Here she was, hurt, and the boy who had tried to ATTACK her, was being comforted. She had provoked him, true, but still.
The girl continued trying to comfort him, and it suddenly stuck Mia. Maybe this was his girlfriend! Mia didn't think that Kaegen was capable of that-he looked rather scrawny and creepy overall, but didn't want to intrude. Though they were awfully young to be dating, in Mia's opinion.
Mia sat up and looked at the girl, expecting her to notice her. Kaegen was obviously her first priority, for reasons unknown to Mia, but her back was aching, and she was pretty sure that Kaegen was fine. Physicaly anyway. He was probably traumatized. Thanks to Mia.
A rush of shame flooded her body, and Mia tried to re-think things. This had obviously happened before, him having a panic attack and rushing off, but probably not like this. Mia was an aggravator in this situation, and he needed help, quick.
Brushing her hair out of her face, Mia knew that the girl-maybe his girlfriend, probably not-needed all the information that she could get her hands on to fully comfort him. That's what her grandmum said anyway.
To effectively save a patient you must have all the information you can have. She would say, rocking in her chair. Mia would listen, as if in a trance, to her perils of wisdom. Scott was too fidgety, and so were Micheal and Silas and Ben. But Mia would sit in silence, and let her Grandmother tell her the stories of when she saved people as a Mediwitch.
