Callie often lost track of her own excitement and today was no different as Elias and Valerie were nowhere to be seen. The absence of her companions had only just dawned on the girl as she entered the cobweb covered tunnel, where she suddenly keenly missed their presence. It wasn't that she was scared of the spiders that usually housed the cobwebs, if anything it was quite the opposite. After all Callie herself had grown up on a farm and those with a fear of spiders didn't tend to last long. Her own sudden fear stemmed from the general darkness and perhaps a small hint of guilt for leaving the pair behind. She stopped at the tunnel entrance and removed the mask from her face, silently adjusting her glasses to ensure she could see properly in the dimly lit abyss. It wasn't like she had Elias to make sure she didn't stumble over anything afterall. This journey was entirely her own or at least until the two lovebirds decided to make an apperance.
Upon entering the ballroom Callie felt her heart drop alongside her general mood at the trees that resembled that of the Forbidden Forest. While Callie hadn't been in the forest that fateful day alongside the rest of her house, she'd certainly heard whispers of how horrible it was. Thomas didn't speak about it and that was all Callie needed to confirm the nightmarishness of the situation. She may have felt a little silly allowing some simple trees to dampen her mood, especially considering she wasn't even there but Callie was an empathetic soul. An empathetic soul who was slowly working up a fear of the Forbidden Forest in her head. She seemed to operate on autopilot as she took a spider giftbag into her hands and headed further into the ballroom. Eventually she managed to brush the lurking feeling of dread building up in her stomach away, instead opting to focus on the matter at hand.
As a way of making it up to Elias and Valerie for abandoning them in favour of sugar, Callie made sure to get them both some lemonade and a cupcake. For the time being she was alone but Callie didn't seem to mind. Instead she took up residence at one of the raised tables and happily stood eating whatever treats she could get her hands on while she waited for the arrival of the other two. The movie may have started but for now at least Callie didn't show much interest and remained mostly quiet out of respect for the others as she munched on whatever she could get her hands on.

Goblin' It Up
There was one final stop, as the two children got around to the ballroom. They had done a great deal of walking around, negotiating with the moving staircase, and going floor to floor. It wasn't too terribly taxing on the budding athlethe, though he wondered whether Opeila had been trying to drag the event out as long as possible. He wouldn't complain if so, he was relaxed.
After the ball, returning to the ballroom was a bit strange. With magic, it had taken less than an hour to dismantle all of the decorations he had asked to be put up, and likely not much longer to put the new display up. Magic always seemed to rob things of the effort they seemed to imply. Magic was a bit easy, even if mastery was another matter. The killing curse, for instance, took little more to cast than the willingness to cast it. No evidence would be left behind, the body would appear unharmed by all appearances. The perfect crime.
Such thoughts invaded the corners of his mind as silence grew between them. Going through the tunnel, Opeila seemed to tense up and get quiet. Most of the evening had been filled with light laughter and small jokes, but there was always an ending. As the way opened out into some mood-setting smoke, Flash got to see how the Professors in charge decided to fill the space.
It was nice, comforting, pillows and blankets everywhere. After all that climbing of stairs, Flash wondered if he might not accidentally fall asleep. He was surprised to see a movie playing, though caught sight of the poor librarian and pieced it together. It seemed even this was possible with a few work-arounds. It was a bit comforting, something... muggle-y.
He himself was really a Muggle more than anything, though the distinction would seem strange with his familiarity with the wizarding world. Really, most of his young life had been spent at a Muggle boarding school, and reaching eleven had only got him transferred to a magical one. Though Hogwarts was predigeous in the magical world and an honor to go to, it was still a bit jarring. No phones, no movies, hardly any music either. No one even talked about it much, though that might have been the people he spent time with.
Speaking of, Opeila was grabbing a baggie of goods off a table, a wide selection available. It seemed only fitting that Flash should take the ghost one, as he was currently a ghost. There were more treats inside all of them, so it didn't relaly matter which one he picked, he was probably going to hand off the treats to someone who would enjoy them more.
Flash's eyes kept being drawn in by the movie, it was one that he knew a bit about but had never seen. It was an old one about vampires, which only reminded him of his less-than-amazing encounter with Nico the year before. The outdated effects and costumes could never scratch the surface of the real terror alive and breathing in their own hallways. It that sense, at least, it wasn't likely to scare anyone.
Drawn back by Opeila's voice, she asked him for guidance. He had been following her lead all day, not having much of an opinion on where they went, so it made sense that she would turn it on him now.
"We should. We've done a lot of walking." Flash gestured to the table, pouring a water for himself.
Now that they were expected to relax and watch a movie, Flash pulled the sheet off of himself and stuffed it into his ghost bag. He would need his arms for drinking anyway. Underneath he had dressed reasonably, a wool sweater for the season and long pants. Once they had rehydrated, he would suggest the comfortable sitting area.
The two of them had been quick to be close and hug in the past, perhaps out of the need rather than the want, but that had changed towards the end of the year. Flash hadn't changed, though, he still wanted the warmth of an embrace at every possible opportunity. As he adjusted himself in the pillow palace, he would take one of the blankets and cover himself up, holding one side open as if asking her is she wanted to join.

Hanako wasn’t one that got easily scared by mere Halloween decorations. He did like to pretend he was and go to haunted houses with the kids from the neighborhood. Where he thoughtfully enjoyed a nice Halloween evening as he watched all of his peers scream and scramble for their lives while he was there holding in chuckles and having a blast. What did make him scream internally was the sight of cats in the ballroom. Out of all the animals the human race could’ve favoured, it just h a d to be those four legged devils from hell. From the entrance where he blindly accepted a bat goodie bag, he briefly glared at every student he saw with a cursed feline near them. While it may be a good time for him to memorise all those faces so he could go out of his way to avoid their entire being, he had other things to worry about at the moment.
When people asked if he was okay, he’d like to push them into a deep well. It was the same when Adlai Rod, the weird talking yellow minion marshmallow, did just that. His grimace was shown clearly on his face but the mask shielded it all. What Adlai could’ve picked up was his shoulders, tensing at her question. But for some reason, he hated that cursed question less tonight. He’s been like that all night. His mind raced with questions yet he felt a sense of ease he couldn’t explain. Last time he felt like this, he was terrified out of his mind. So much that he dunked pumpkin juice over someone and ran out the great hall crying. But he...wasn’t terrified? Did it had something to do with his fake identity?
“ Why would you say that?” He coughed out, realising he had been too deep in thought from Rod’s question. Just because he hated it less didn’t mean he was used to answering without being sarcastic. The odd thing is was that he didn’t even feel tempted to be sarcastic, in fact, it was the opposite. Maybe the abundant of questions had finally made him mad. Eager to get this off this chest, he decided to answer her. “ You’re a weird girl. I came here with a goal I never got to finish because the second you entered my life, I had too many questions I can’t even focus on anything anymore. You declined my bribery. You stuck with someone that said you had weird taste. You act like I actually deserve-” his breath got stuck inhis throat, skillfully trapped the words he was about to say and continued to swallow it down.
‘Trust and kindness’
“ A-anyway I-” he forced himself to say his next lines despite half of his desires to keep his mouth shut. Alas, in a arrogant tone he said “ I’ll give you the chance to leave me now. We don’t have to see eachother after this. Don’t you think after spending some time with me, that - “ ‘ I can’t make you happy?’ he thought at first before rephrasing. “- we dont have a lot in common? I’m giving you a thumbs up here, buddy. I don’t think I’m the right friend for you, Adlai Rod”
Just as he finished his little rant, he felt like he could finally breathe again. Had saying the truth ever given him this much satisfaction? Honestly, he felt like singing now. As if all his puzzlings questions were put on pause and he had no care for it at all! Perhaps, it was the guilt making him at ease. He was right when he was not a good friend. He’s taking lessons for not pissing people off for god sake! Not to mention he lied his whole identity to her- if she actually bought it all. A friendship with her was doomed from the start and Hanako- er- Mac , had just given her a chance to be free from all his bullcrappery.

Adlai looked at Mac with wide eyes, almost in disbelief as he spoke to her. To him she was weird, to him she was a question mark, something that he was unsure of...something that knocked him off course. "Well...I'm sorry I drove you away from your goals," She started, "But, I'm not going to leave unless you want me to. I don't know about you, but I had fun tonight. I had fun with you."
Her palms started to sweat and her heart beat picked up just a bit at the slightest idea that Mac didn't like her. Why did she care if he liked her or not? That had never been a concern for her before with other people, right? No...because other people like her, they think she's fun, they think she's nice...Mac called her weird, is it a good weird or bad weird? What does weird mean to Mac?
Her brain was going a hundred miles an hour. This has happened before, it happened last year when she went down the chamber for the first time and learned of her other worldly ability. It happened when she thought about what her mother would do or say when she inevitably tells her parents about it. It happens now when her Great Aunt sends her a howler.
What was this feeling? Why wouldn't it go away? She didn't like it. She didn't want it.
When will it go away?

Coming from the Muggle Studies
At the mention of hags, an uneasy shiver ran down Dee's spine. Just because she wasn't one... With everything that had been happening, she wasn't entirely sure there wasn't an undercover hag at this school. And if not, they were still skulking around the school's borders, just outside of the reach of light, waiting for their moment. She'd gotten too close to feel comfortable making jokes about them. She wasn't going to admit this to Raincoat of all people, but her heart wasn't in it when she said, "Oh, so you think I'm powerful enough to be a hag, and have enough sway over the headmaster to get in here? I'm flattered."
When Ileen viciously assaulted her with candy, Dee turned around, a charming smile on her face. "Of course I didn't mean you," she explained patiently. "You're a smart pureblood." A short look in Percival's direction was enough to make clear which category the boy belonged to, and the smile fell off her face without a trace. "Don't know her very well, do you?" she asked quietly as she walked past him to catch up to Ileen who was apparently already running out of patience with their bickering. It wasn't even meant as a taunt, really, for probably the first time since the start of this conversation. No one who knew anything about Ileen at all would seriously make that type of claim.
Ileen's rather obvious attempt to cheer her up received a halfhearted smile in return. The longer this conversation continued, the more Dee realised she didn't really want to be here. Not due to Ileen, of course, she was always happy to spend time with her friend. But what was she even doing here? She was ruining all their nights instead of just her own. And while she usually might not waste a second to feel bad about Rainwood's night, this was just making herself feel worse, too. But still, it was likely better than being alone and dealing with having only her own terrible company, and no one else to blame for it.
Rainwood's claim about the bed sheet received a disbelieving huff in return. She doubted his roommates would be happy with him cutting holes in their bed sheets - he'd likely gotten it from a house-elf or something. "It's probably his own," she muttered, just to spite him. Not that she thought he was actually that stupid - who would be?

Wren walked slowly towards the doors leading to the ballroom. It was late now, and the movie had surely already started. She had lost sight of Paisley a long time ago, but she had a feeling that she was going to be able to spot the girl in the ballroom. I shouldn't be worried. She looked like she was having fun with her other friends. The corridors were practically empty now with very few people left wandering about. A few of them seemed to going back to their common rooms as they looked like they would fall asleep at any moment. Others were just talking with their friends, eating some of the candy in their bag. It was eerily quiet in the hallway, though there was a bit of noise coming from the ballroom.
Reaching the doors, Wren pushed them open and stepped inside. The movie was already playing, and students were spread out across the floor. Talking quietly with friends and eating their candy. There were two tables on the sides of the room, piled with different types of drinks and treats. There were cupcakes and other candies, as well as chocolate covered pretzels. There were so many treats that she couldn't even count them all. On the other side of the table there was a bunch of drinks. Pumpkin juice, lemonade, and so much more. Feeling slightly overwhelmed by all the choices, Wren decided to just leave them be for the moment and retreated to a corner of the ballroom. There were several pillows on the ground, unused by anyone. Pulling one over to her, she leaned up against it and began watching the movie. It was a horror movie, no doubt. She noticed that a few students looked a little tense as they watched. Wren had never been scared easily by anything, so the movie seemed like all other ones.
The movie went on for a long time, and it was a whole before Wren even remembered her bag of candy. Opening her bag, she pulled out one of the candies she got in divination. It was really sweet as she put it in her mouth, and she almost instantly felt like she had to much energy. Well, it's halloween. She thought, swallowing the first one and pulling out a second one. By the time the movie was over, she had so much energy that she didn't know if she could sleep that night. That was a lot of fun, though. She thought as she walked out of the ballroom. Maybe hogwarts wasn't so bad after all.

What had Damion found himself in? Halloween had been his favorite holiday. The dressing up and the candies. Wow. He enjoyed it when he was back in Wales. He had loved doing this stuff with Dylan. Dylan and Damion were a good pair of friends. He loved spending time with Dylan. Ever since he had come here he had not been able to spend that much time with Dylan as much as he would have wanted. He had not stopped writing to him. Something about Dylan's personality kept Damion drawn to him. He didn't know what it was, but yeah he waited for Dylan's response very eagerly.
He had received the latest letter from Dyllie. He was super excited to read it and reply back. Since he was waiting for the movie to start and was sitting there in the ballroom he decided that he might read it. A happy tear fell down his face.
Damii was very happy reading Dyllie's letter. He was happy that Dyllie was doing good too. He took a quill and letter sheet and wrote his own reply to it. He would post the letter later but he was going to write it right now so that he would have it ready to be posted.
Damion put the letter in his pocket and smiled. He was going to post it later for now he was waiting for the movie to start. He was pretty excited about this. He looked at around and smiled.

-Interacting with @Aaron Jones, @Zykeal Lane & @Eyre Reeves-
As she made her way with the group towards the Ballroom, Lydia's imagination was running wild: which movie would they play, would there be a lot of people all dressed up for Halloween, and would there be even more candy? Her spirit was definitely high, as a bright smile had found its way over her lips; she really couldn't wait to eat all of those candies while chilling with her best friend and her new friends. She was also really happy they had decided to go on this trick or treat tour with Zyk and Eyre; it was nice spending time with them, and Aaron seemed to like them as well.
Once she saw the incredible decorations that adorned the corridor that lead to the Ballroom, Lydia had to admit that a small shiver ran down her spine; it wasn't as if she was scared, but the smoke, the tunnel with the cobwebs and the candle lights definitely did their job in properly setting the mood for a spooky night. Walking more along the corridor, once they reached the end of it, the Ballroom was almost unrecognisable in front of them: creepy trees were everywhere, the lights incredibly low, and the whole "haunted forest" look definitely did their job; Lydia quickly walked closer to her best friend, her eyes looking around almost expecting something, or someone, to jump out and scare them all.
For a second she had almost forgotten that they were still inside the castle, so when she saw Professor Karr, dressed up as a pirate, Lydia was -for a millisecond- confused, before she offered the professor a polite smile. Looking between the different options for the bag, she decided to go for a Ghost one and she happily accepted it, before moving along with her group. The rest of the ballroom look as amazing as everything else: the chandelier that was swaying on the ceiling, the incredible amount of candies and sweets on the tables, together with the drinks, the movie playing with the projector and the blankets and pillows on the floor... everything looked wonderful, with the right amount of scary.
"I think I'll go get some lemonade!" she said to her group, before quickly running towards the table and pour herself a glass of the drink. After that, she quickly made her way back to her friends, as her eyes scanned the room. "What do you think, should we sit down on some blankets and pillows? I haven't seen this movie yet, but I know that it's the kind of movie my parents used to watch during Halloween night," she asked as she motioned with her head towards the blankets on the ground.

Having just come from the lack-luster Divinations area, Zyk felt a little let down this Hallows Eve. It wasn't until he and his companions reached the hallway leading into the Ballroom that Zykeals spirits were lifted once more; the area seemingly transformed. Stopping just before the hallway that leads into the ballroom, seeing the transformation that the teachers made to the entranceway, he stopped his walking and let the others go before him, "This is what I'm talkin' bout," he offered approvingly, "I'll catch up to you guys in a minute," he said, a devilish grin lit upon his features.
Waiting till the others moved in and there was a clear entrance to walk through, the spider-webs and red lighting brightening the dark hall, he'd halt the rotation of the wand that was within his fingers. Settling the hilt into the palm of his hand, a rash decision was made and the second-year flicked that ivory-white colored aspen wood wand directly down the middle of the hall and said aloud, "Periculum," and out of the tip of his wand shot the red sparks charm down the middle of the hall. Zyk made off in a run then, following the bright light of his spell and emerged out of the tunnel to the ballroom. At the end of his sprint, following the red sparks charm, he made a jump and landed with his arms and legs spread apart standing straight up.
"HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEEEN!!!" he yelled.
Although he was very reserved normally, this was his favorite holiday and it seemed to bring out the devilish side of him. The boy, being dawned in the nerdiest muggle outfit he could come up with, was looking like a complete fool when standing there yelling. This didn't bother him a bit. With his entrance made, he took his hand holding his wand and flicked the tip of it against his helicopter blade hat and made the blades spin. Running over towards his group that he let get ahead of him, he smirked, "Sorry bout that'," he said amusingly, looking over towards the two Huffles who probably tried to keep as low-key as any other Badger tried to do. Expecting Eyre to just be laughing at him, he offered a soft punch to the boy's upper arm and then shifted to look around the area at large, "Where the hell are we?" he questioned, his head cocking to the side as he gazed upon the scene.
Seeing spooky looking trees, his instant thought was to go and try and collect wood to make a gnarly looking faux-wand; how cool would that look? Instead, though, he kept with the others and watched as Lydia bounced off for a moment. Eyes traveled across the area and he slightly hoped that he could say 'hi' to Dee and Ileen, but, they were nowhere in sight. Looking over to Aaron then, he asked, "Hey, can you grab me a bag too mate?" he questioned, "Dun' care which," he'd follow up with. Those bags really weren't the real treat for him here, it was the atmosphere, the scenery, the general vibe of the holiday that was upon them.
When Lydia returned and asked her question, he nodded thinking it to be a good idea, "Yeah, but, you being the super-hot ghost thingy gots' to pick the spot'," he blatantly said. Looking over at Aaron once more, slightly worried, "Oh, no offense mate," he shrugged, "ain't tryin' to take ya' girl, she's just fit, ya?," his Irish accent coming out a little. Zyk nodded once more, "Got my own thing brewin'," he offered up, trying to reassure the little spaceman. With all settled right in his mind, he'd plop down on whatever blanket the girl in the group decided and dragged Eyre along with him so that they could sit next to each other.

After a full night of trick or treating, and getting an inevitable trick herself in the form of rather staticky hair, Theo finally arrived at the great hall for the movie night. Seeing as this was her first halloween at Hogwarts, she wasn't really sure what to expect in terms of celebrations, but this was a rather nice surprise. She was used to the muggle way of doing things- going to school during the day, and trick or treating in your neighborhood at night. Now that she was at a boarding school for witches and wizards, things were a bit different. However, she did miss some aspects of muggle halloween.
Above all, Theodora missed her friends. Every halloween they would all dress up together, spend the entire night trick or treating and end up in the living room of one of their family homes, trading candies and eating until they were sick. While she had a few acquaintances at Hogwarts, none were as close to her as her muggle friends were. On top of that, she missed her parents little halloween history lessons and older brothers affinity for ghost stories. It was her first halloween away from home and the reality of it was really setting in for Theo as the night came to an end.
As she entered, there was an assortment of gift bags to choose from near the entrance. Theo opted for the Ghost goodie bag. Not for any particular reason, of course- it was just random luck of the draw. After getting her bag, Theo wandered over to one of the now empty piles of pillows and blankets, taking up the entire pile for herself. It was likely meant for a group of students to enjoy, but the surely did not give a single damn about that. The pile of pillow and blankets would prove to be much more comfortable than the solo ones, and seeing as she'd put herself in a rather dreary mood, she needed the extra comfort. Theo sat herself down in the pile, letting out a deep sigh before pulling a couple layers of blankets over her body. Once she was sufficiently covered and cozy, the young witch dipped her hand into her halloween candy bag and pulled out a chocolate bar to indulge in while the movie played. It was an old movie- something her mother surely would have enjoyed watching. However, that was a thought Theo tried not to linger on too much. Instead, she wanted to just enjoy the remainder of her night, eating herself sick as she had so many years in the past- except this time, alone.
