Fall Games Quidditch: Gryffindor v Slytherin

The game began as many did, with the normal panic and zest of sudden life as each player went to their own locations. As for Piérre, however, he was on another duty. Catch duty. And specifically, he had an eye on Evelynn, their Seeker, who was already searching for the elusive Snitch. Biting his lip as a cheer went up for a successful goal on Slytherin’s behalf, Piérre shook his head and refocused. He couldn’t be stressing out the little details. There was a larger plan in mind. A larger part that he had to execute and complete for the success of his team.

That was his mind frame... until he heard the sickening crunch of leather, skin, and bone. Piérre snapped towards the sound to find the nice prefect Griseldis hurtling towards the ground. ”GRIS! NOOO!” In a desperate attempt to preserve his teammate’s life, Piérre hurtled towards the ground, pushing his broom to the limits as he plunged to collect his teammate...

Seconds too late, as Griseldis hit the ground too hard. With a wail, Piérre felt his vision cloud, a light scream permeating the air as the cold and wet began to set into his bones. Already, he was failing his team. Already he was proving that he was a worthless member of his team. He couldn’t do anything right, could he? And then Evelynn hadn’t even been touched. He had been entirely and utterly useless.

A whistle came from behind him and just at the last second, Piérre piqued his ear, barrel-rolling out of the way as a bludger, struck by a decently strong-looking girl. Not Erin, the purple-haired danger that they had expected, but the other one. She didn’t look as strong, but she would certainly be strong enough to sent Piérre flying the rest of the way to the ground had he not been able to pivot and then swoop back towards the rainy clouds. His hair was plastered to his forehead, and his breath coming in short, ragged breaths. They had targeted him? A Keeper? A tiny boy with no muscle and absolutely nothing to protect himself with except his ungodly agility?! That didn’t seem like a fair matchup at all!!! Almost like Fox vs. Anyone else on the Melee Smash roster!

Still, he had to keep moving. Keep surviving, that was all that mattered. For all he knew, Erin could be on to him next. Even if she wasn’t, the Britalian was keeping an eye out for her, all while performing his designated action.

Aurelia was nervously tapping her mangy old school broom on her leg. The Quaffle was being passed back and forth and she was getting a headache. The fact that she was actually here was starting to set in, and so was her adrenaline despite her being... well-
benched.

Her eyes followed the Quaffle she sighed as Slytherin scored. "C'mon Evelynn, find that snitch fast" But something else quickly caught her eye. A bludger heading straight for Gryffindor's beater Griseldis. "Watch out!", she stammered knowing that Gris surely couldn't hear her. Not through the beating rain.
It was too late.
She began to fall.
With her mouth agape, Aurelia jumped out of her seat but the rain separated her from the players like a sheer curtain. With all her willpower she forced her butt back into the ice-cold seat. She is fine... she is fine. This happens all the time. Yet it was too early in the game, why was no one there to catch her?

Next to her Kyle, who would now have to replace Griseldis, ascended into the sky. She could feel the goosebumps forming on her arms from the cold. What terrible weather for Quidditch.

INTERACTING WITH: @Piérre Marchonné
MENTIONING: the game in general
The game was off. Poorly. With the pelting of the rain and the distortion of sound that came with it, Evelynn actually almost missed the starting whistle. What she hadn't missed, however, was that briefest glint of gold as the snitch was released into the air. She had tracked it with her gaze for only the shortest time until it had disappeared into the torrent. And then she, too, was off.

The chill hit her like a wall. She'd already known that it would, the rain having a way of seeping into her clothing and uniform the instant she had left the changing rooms. She almost regretted cleaning off her uniform after Piérre had administered that unsolicited hug. Perhaps the viscosity of the mud might have offered some protection at the seems and staved off the worst of the weather. Alas, it crept its way immediately to her skin, and the wind afforded by the high-speeds of her chasing around the pitch in search of that little glint of gold didn't help one bit.

She couldn't decide what was worse, however. Sitting idle and still, saving herself from the brunt of the wind and giving her a chance to search without the added difficulty of movement impairing the hunt. Or flying in an attempt to at least work up some sort of body warmth and avoid painting herself a sitting duck and tempting target for blatch and bludger alike. There didn't seem to be any winning either way—neither was particularly pleasant—and before she knew it, she'd wasted the start of the game trying to experiment with maximizing her own comfort instead of just trying to find the snitch. Which, arguably, would be the quickest and fasted way to obtain that comfort.

Catch the snitch. Win the game. Get off the pitch and out of the rain.

Easier said—or envisioned—than done, however. The rain made sure of that. Every which way she looked, all Evelynn saw was spattering water and blurry streaks of vermillion and crimson as they danced and intermingled below and around her. Honestly, she'd be lucky if she could tell her teammates apart in this mess, nevermind locate and catch a flying Ferrero Rocher, as her mother had once referenced over the summer. Granted, it wasn't as difficult as she might have thought. She caught two figures in red evidently attempting to knock a blonde beauty with a bat from her broom—those could only be D'Spacito and Beckett. Given the vacancy of the Gryffindor goal posts, she might have thought Piérre to have numbered among the two called for fouls had she not spied him trailing nearby.

"Piérre!" Evelynn called out, raising a hand to shield her eyes from the onslaught of rain and waving him off dismissively with the other. "Go back and tend to the goal! I'll be fine!"

Would she? Who knew. Perhaps his presence was actually necessary to save her from a tumble when the opponents' attention directed itself towards her. So far, however, they seemed to be ignoring her. Just as her team appeared to be leaving Palmer be. She was quick, however, and with the new broom suspected they'd have some trouble catching her off guard. In the mean time, she'd rather not have to worry about the score. A score that soon became 10-0 in favour of Slytherin. Not terrible. Vanes was holding his own. But with D'Spacito and Beckett being forced to fly laps, they'd be sorely outmatched for the quaffle for a time.

A crack and series of shouts pulled her ruminating thoughts from points towards a falling figure. A red one. The bat falling with her meant one thing: either Edelhardt or Aden had gone down. She could only watch on with baited breath as Pierre sped to try to catch the girl, but it was too late. As she hit the ground, Gryffindor's disadvantageous position was secured. In players and points, Slytherin had drawn first blood for both. Evelynn took a steadying breath, squaring her shoulders and pulled her attention from the chaos. Arcing her flight around the pitch as she rose, she fixed her gaze about the pitch and attempted to settle her thoughts.

They needed a quick victory. She needed to find that snitch.

When the trio balls for Quidditch had been released by the referee and the flying professor, the said professor blew his whistle signaling the game just begin. After they took their entry lap around the pitch, the green eyes situated where they should be.

The heavy pouring rain did not helped the purple hair at all. With how heavy the rain is pouring, the visibility to see the opposing players are low. But it did not stop the second year Serpent to whacked the bludger towards their Keeper albeit it missed but at least they hit the bludger like they intended when they signed up for being their house Beater.

When the bludger came back around and hit the purple hair, they growled lowly under the cold rain. From the distance they could see that Scarlett was the one that hit them. "What the hell?!They cried as the shocked from hit by a bludger register into them.

Then the second hit of bludger aimed towards the green eyes. The house of crimson and gold hit them twice and the annoyance that the second year felt are beyond belief. From how hard they got knocked down from the second hit, made them losing their balance and fall of their broom.

As the green eyes falling to the ground, they anticipate of what about to happened to them. Falling from such a great heights, will end up unconscious or a few broken bones here and there. But like a Supergirl, a blonde girl from the team swoop in and save the falling person.

"Thanks"Cash said to their savior. Bat in hand, they ready to deliver a counter attack for whomever will attacked them again with the bludger but they need to find their own broom first.

The game started quickly and fiercely. Despite the drizzle coming down, Slytherin did not let it faze them. They were used to the dampness living in the dungeons. It was home for them. She ignored the chasers, knowing that the bigger target they had plotted against was Griseldis. Eyes locked on Erin, she watched as the beater used all her strength to send an attack towards the Gryffindor girl. With a smack that Tyranni not only saw but felt, she watched the girl tumble to the ground unconscious. "Yes Erin! Great hit!" She hollered at the older girl sure she likely was not able to hear. Her celebration was cut short as she saw Cassandra slump off her broom and start falling towards the ground to join the same fate as the Lion, but Persephone was quick to zip in and catch the falling Snake. Her first save of the game! And quick! "That a girl Persephone!"

Percival looked to his side when one of his teammates sat down next to him. The boy looked to be older then him. He guessed around third or fourth year. The two had never spoken to each other before, and he doubted he had the patience to talk with someone else at the moment. Between being focused on the game and trying to work out his personal issues, he felt fairly swamped. Percival gave the other a small smile, one often used to be polite with someone you didn't know well. Before focusing back onto the gam onhand. "Good job Erin!" He cheered loudly clapping his hands together with a whoop.

Pierre gets the quaffle!

Pierre, who had spent the previous round watching over Evelynn to make sure she didn't fall, had changed tactic. Still not taking the traditional keeper's role of guarding the hoops, he instead opted to act as a chaser for a bit and attempt to even out the score. For the most part, it was looking like he was doing well. Two times he managed to grab onto the quaffle, possibly due to the surprise the opponent's chasers may have felt at seeing Gryffindors keeper play with so much risk. Unfortunately though, he was only 1 boy, and it was inevitable that at some point Slytherin would manage to get ahold of the ball. This success came in the form of a young Dhampir by the name of Nico, who, instead of keeping onto it, decided to pass the quaffle over to one of her partners- Alexx.

Koko saw Pierre speeding towards her, quaffle in hand, and immediately decided to prepare. The opposing keeper had taken a risk, and she seemed to decide to take one herself. Propping herself in a Starfish and Stick, the girl blocked the hoops to the best of her abilities. Unfortunately, it was not enough, and Pierre managed to get the ball past her. A few minutes later, he came at it again, and despite her best efforts he also scored again. Not all hope was lost, however, as in between those scores Alexx had managed to take advantage of Pierre's absence at the hoops, scoring once for her own team.

Last round, Scarlett and Griseldis failed to knock out their target. Instead, their target knocked them out. One of them, at least, who had to be replaced by Kyle. Almost as though they had communicated telepathically, both the second string and Scarlett knew that they were going to keep pursuing the same target: Erin. The girl answered in kind, clearly attempting to take the Kyle out as well. All three beaters missed their mark, however. They would have to try again some other time.

The lad ignored the rain, the lad ignored the chaos, the lad was flying about and letting the rain smack him back and forth, and the lad didn't care. He wasn't just a boy anymore. He was a man on a mission. Revenge.

Yeah, yeah, he was too small to deal any damage against the Veela girl who had taken out their beater, but there was more than one way to mete out revenge. And that, in the slight boy's case, was the ability to even the odds. The Quaffle was his next goal.

"He-YUP!" Piérre huffed as he zoomed towards the Chasers, snagging it just as their hands were about to close upon the red fabric. "NOT THIS TIME, LADIES!" He shouted, giving them a salute as he darted back and forth down the field. Finally, he came face to face with the pretty Slytherin Keeper, Koko. Koko had been the first prefect that Piérre had had an interaction with, and had been the first girl that he had found a bit of himself in.

"I'm-a sorry, Koko! I gotta do this for the teaaaam!" Piérre feinted left, right, left again, before going for the Hoop in dead center, confusing the Keeper altogether. 10 points up for Gryffindor. Tie game. Heading back for another go, this time, Piérre was thwarted by the Dhampire girl, who then passed the ball to Alexx, leaving Piérre in the dust and causing another 10 points to go up for Slytherin.

Fine. We're gonna do it this way, are we? "C'mon Luciana... Let's go." Piérre aimed for the Quaffle once again, head to head with both girls again. Alexx looked to be a monster, definitely stronger than he was... but if Piérre could snag the thing before they could beat him for it, then there would be no problems. Zig-zagging back and forth as he watched the ball, Piérre saw his moment and went for it, divebombing from directly overhead and then snatching the ball to his chest, pulling up rapidly and making a beeline for Koko. This time, she was completely unprepared, and with a flick of his wrist, the ball was sent through the hoops again. 20-20.

A gold twinkle glittered, and Piérre tried to point to it for Evelynn to see... but she had seen it already! "GO EEVEE, GOOOO!!!"

As the rain fell, and the wind flapped through his wet jersey robes he felt excited. Alive. He had not taken flight like this in a long time and it was long over due. The quaffle flipped around this way and that, the seekers zoomed around and the audience cheered. But none of that mattered to Kyle. All he focused on, were the bludgers. He squinted his eyes through the rain as he searched and tracked them. This wasn't the best weather to be doing this in, but this is why he trained. All the drills he did, all the times he got hit while training alone, the hours spent swinging his bat at bludgers until he couldn't lift his arms. This is what that was for.

Then, he saw his bludger. It was coming in an arc and he could almost see the equation of where it was going to wind up, not that he could ever really put to words how he kept track of these kinds of things. He gripped his broom tighter and he moved to get into place, and then with a loud CRACK he smacked the bludger and sent it zooming towards his date to the ball, Erin. Most guys may hesitate or shy away from hitting a girl, especially one he was going to a ball with. But To kyle, it was the only thing to do. Showed he respected her enough to not pull his punches, or treat her like glass.

to his dismay, the bludger missed, and he noticed it just in time as another came right for his face. He let out a yelp of surprise as he flipped and wound up hanging upside from his broom for dear life. He furrowed his brow in determination and laughed before yelling out "Gonna have to try harder'n that Starling!"

Kyle righted himself on his broom and took a moment to push his soaking wet hair from his face and slick it back and away before his head moved on a swivel, trying to lock down the next bludger.
