They had enough! Any attempt to gain a horseshoe into the pole seems meaningless at this point. Cash did not want to sabotage anyone else but they willing to try any mean necessarily. The young serpent failed again and again, this time around they will not try to hold back anymore.

At where they stand, they heard that Nick was firing the Knockback Jinx to Dealla. It seems he is trying to start a chaos. Cash snickered under their breath. Cash then avert their attention to Lizzie and it seems Lizzie was not please at what the green eyes had just done.

"Hey! All is fair in this game"They retort to Lizzie. "If you pay any attention, the host said we can try to sabotage others. You sure you belong to Ravenclaw? From what I seen, you are so ambitious in this game. Beside this is just a game, Liz. Chill"They added.

"Next time, why don't you try worry about yourself more than about other people"The blonde Raven raised her voice to her former best friend. Cash scoffed at that. "This is me worrying about myself"They stated. "The world does not revolve around you"The Latinx uttered with venom in their words.

"Maybe then you would have a chance at winning"Lizzie continued and point to the barren horseshoe pole in front of the purple hair. Whoops! There goes the chance to salvage the remnant friendship both of the student have. If there is still any left.

Cash one day will find a way to gain that friendship back. Cash sighed at that. Perhaps it is not a wise decision but what is done is done. When the host yelled out the remain time for the game, Cash ponder what should they do next.

Cash could copy what Nick did but if they do that, they certainly will gain an enemy out of this game. If they gain an enemy from it, well the Sorting hat definitely put them in the right house. One last attempt Cash thought. If this last attempt fail again, Cash definitely curse their luck.

As they focus on the horseshoes, They whipped out their wand and point it out. "Flipendo!"They screamed out their frustration. Cash had nothing to lose whether the last horseshoe landed on the pole or not. If not, well their spell casting and wand did not suit for this game at all.

Trickshot?! How was she supposed to do a trickshot?!
The moment Lucia heard the fourth year's shout, she got confused. The next thirty seconds were spent watching what everyone else was doing, trying to figure out her own moves - but by the time the second-year finally lifted her wand, the window was closed and she'd missed valuable time.
Mother of Merlin.
Looking around again at everyone else's poles, Lucia suddenly realised something which made her heart sink. There was no way she could win this.
But.
Maybe there was a way she could make it a tiny bit better for someone else.
Cash Ironwood's pole still held no horeshoes, and from the look of it she wouldn't be gaining any any time soon.
So what if Lucia... helped, a bit?
Who had the most horeshoes? Ah, the Ravenclaw with all the powerful spells. Lucia was a bit jealous of her wandwork, if she was going to be honest, but that thought could wait until another time.
Lucia readied her wand, twirled it at a horseshoe on the Ravenclaw's pole (hopefully not one impaled in the ground) and murmured, "Wingardium Leviosa!!"
If she successfully lifted the horseshoe off the pole, completely oblivious to the fact that she was entering into the middle of an arguement, Lucia would guide it gently to fall onto her friend's. Hopefully, Cash wouldn't end last, even if neither of them would win.

"GAH! Screw this game!" Thomas was a little peeved with his failure, immediately forcing him to essentially give up the victory altogether. Clearly his cockiness had gotten the better of him. The Ravenclaw had far too much pride in his tiny little body, it was a wonder how he managed to keep himself together without appearing too arrogant. "Only thirty seconds?!" That wasn't long enough to turn the tides! It appeared that he would have to accept his loss, and use his spellcasting for some other means.

Though Thomas was particularly frustrated, he didn't want to tamper with Lizzie's points because of the strange, friend intervention happening next to him. It was clear that she and Cash were at odds, and Cash was the one who had sabotaged him not that long ago. More than capable of holding a grudge, he was content to not interfere with Lizzie's near victory. Doing his best to ignore the sudden outpour of emotions (over a game of horseshoes, no less), the Ravenclaw set his sights upon the individual currently in second place.

His eyes scanned the poles before him, quickly fixating upon the pole of an unfortunate @Serena Bowen. Thomas had no grudges with the girl, he scarcely knew who she was in fact. However, if it meant being petulant, and losing while taking someone down with him, he was more than pleased with such a circumstance. "FLIPENDO!" A part of him hoped that there were hard feelings, he hadn't gotten into a fight with some since he arrived back at Hogwarts.

Serena heard the sound of the horseshoe hitting something. She lowered her hand and opened her eyes. To her surprise and utter delight, the twelve-year-old had, in fact, managed to get it on the pole. “Whoa” She let out. Serena honestly didn’t think that that would work out for her. She totally thought that she would miss entirely or even accidentally hit someone else with it.

Serena grinned. Who knew that she was this good at the Levitation Charm? Not that she was super bad at magic or anything; it was just surprising that she could do it with her eyes closed. But now, Serena had to think of something else to do and fast. There were only thirty seconds left!

Well, maybe she should just turn around like she wanted to earlier. So Serena did just that and aimed her wand at one final horseshoe and cast the Levitation Charm.

“Wingardium Leviosa!” Serena was so close to making it into the top three. Hopefully, nobody would decide to mess with her pole while her back was turned. If someone did, she might not be too happy with them. But, Serena had to remind herself that this was just a game. And besides, no-one had tried to sabotage her so far, so why was she worried about it?

Dee let out a whoop and spun around in celebration when her spell worked precisely as intended - had she ever cast a spell this perfect? She wasn't sure, she didn't think so - and Thomas's extremely crude attempt at sabotaging her resulted in him knocking another horseshoe off his own pole. It was nice to see that there seemed to be some measure of justice in this world. Honestly, the high might carry over into her next spell too. She didn't feel like she was even able to fail a spell right now.

She was about to decide on the next target for her horseshoe-stealing endeavors - Thomas was obviously out of the game, no use in taking his last shoe too - when the Hufflepuff referee announced that they had only thirty seconds left. What? That couldn't be right. Had she been so distracted squabbling? And how did the redhead even know - she wasn't wearing a watch at all!

But, well, if they were that close to the end, it was time for some tactical decisions.
Wisdom roll: [d20 : 15] + 10 = 25, success
Her gaze swept over the other poles for a second, trying to remember who had gotten extra points from trickshots. She was in... third place right now? That wouldn't do. Lizzie was ahead of her, further than Dee was likely to catch up in just half a minute. Although it scratched her pride, at least a Ravenclaw was winning, and Dee would remember not to underestimate Lizzie in the future. Second up was a blonde Hufflepuff that Dee had never talked to or... honestly even remembered seeing around. She should maybe pay better attention to her classmates.

Either way, the Hufflepuff was a little ahead of her, but not by much - the perfect target for sabotage. Plus, she didn't have Lizzie's slightly terrifying habit of ramming her horseshoes so deep into the ground there was no hope of removing it.

Aiming her wand at the pole of the blonde Hufflepuff girl, Dee decided to end the game with a flourish: She'd try to have the horseshoe zigzag and weave around all poles in between her and the blonde's pole before finally settling on her own. Thirty seconds wasn't much - but it would be enough for this.

With the threat of the time suddenly chasing at their heels, the seven second years sprang into action with the energy and enthusiasm Ami had seen from them at the very start of the game. She was glad that the thought of rewards and money had spurred them into action, and frankly, she couldn't blame them. If someone was dangling the promise of 3 whole galleons in front of her nose, she'd definitely jump at that chance, as well. But unfortunately, she would only be losing money today... what a shame.

Steady and true, @Lizzie Verdine managed to float her final horseshoe through the air, weaving the horseshoe back and forth between her competitors' poles before gently landing it on her own. Ami could hear her arguing with @Cassandra Ironwoods, trading some harsh remarks back and forth over Cash's attempt to flip one of Lizzie's horseshoes away. However, it was none of her business, and she wasn't going to stick her nose into someone else's issues (for once). Angrily, Cash went to flip their horseshoe onto their empty pole, and it somersaulted through the air several times before landing around their pole. Maybe their anger had contributed to some of this power behind the spell? But regardless, between the horseshoe and the fancy maneuvers, Cash had just earned themself 2 points.

On the other hand, it seemed that @Caelan Stewart had decided to turn to darker, more devious tactics. However, his wand seemed to have a different idea, once again refusing to cast the Knockback Jinx at as lovely a lass as @Dealla Prince, even sparking indignantly this time. Luckily, as both Ami and Dealla seemed to be preoccupied with other things, his attempt at sabotage went largely unnoticed, sparing him from a slap upside the noggin from Ami.

@Lucia Fox, ever the kind-hearted Hufflepuff, seemed to attempt to give Cash an extra horseshoe, which Ami truly admired. Unfortunately, the horseshoe just missed Cash's pole, tumbling to the ground a few feet away. At least it was the thought that counted, right?

The polar opposites of those intentions were Dealla and @Thomas Baines. Both seemed dead-set on knocking down @Serena Bowen, as they seemed angry and annoyed at the way the game was turning out. But while Thomas managed to knock a horseshoe away, Dealla's spell hit the pole, nearly lifting it out of the ground. Serena herself managed to ignore all of these distractions, and managed to land one last horseshoe with a bit of a flourish to earn herself 2 more points.

"Alright guys, time's up!" Ami called out, "And wands down, while I count the horseshoes..." Stepping in front of the line of children, the fourth year's eyes quickly scanned across the various poles, adding in the various bonus points that they had earned throughout the game. Remaining silent, just to build up suspense, she made her way over to her school bag, retrieving the various prizes.

"In third place, we have... you here! Uh... D- Dahlia, right? Or whatever. Nice job, you." Ami handed her a precarious-looking stack of chocolate frogs, tied together in a tall tower with a substantial amount of twine, as well as a golden galleon. "Second place is Serena- also a very nice job!" Again, with the tower of chocolate frogs, although this time, Ami handed her three coins instead of one. Who was this magic fourth year with too much money to spare?? "And in first place... Um... are you Lily? No, that's not it... Lizzie! Well done, well done... I'm sure you've made Ravenclaw very proud." Ami handed Lizzie a substantially taller stack of chocolate frogs, as well as three shining galleons.

"And for the rest of you..." Ami hesitated, glancing at the three victorious girls with their prizes and the rest of the participants, who probably felt a little put out that all of their efforts had been for naught. "I have some jellybeans if y'all want any- Bertie Bott's, of course," she said, fishing out a fresh package from the bottom of the school bag. "Otherwise, you guys are free to go!"

The horseshoe which Lucia had attempted to sling over @Cassandra Ironwoods' pole fell to the ground, dejected, a few feet away from it's destination. Oh. She had just stolen someone's horseshoe for nothing.
It seemed to be fine though, because Cash quickly grabbed herself two points, and Lucia grinned as her friend did so.

As the prizes were given out, Lucia clapped along assuming other people were clapping. If no-one else is clapping, she just stands there and smiled awkwardly haha. and tried not to look disappointed.
"Oooh!" she breathed when...Ami? That was her name, right?... announced the Berty Botts' for everyone else, and Lucia immediately grabbed some. She smiled a quick "Thank you," to Ami (if that was, after all, her name) and turned to see the Ravenclaw whose horeshoe she had stolen. She had won, luckily, so the girl couldn't complain about that, but should Lucia go up and apologise?

The Hufflepuff took a few steps towards the girl, but then thought twice. What if the Ravenclaw got mad at her? What if she went beserk or something, or started a fight, or... The downside of having a hyperactive imagination is that your brain tends to spin perfectly ordinary situations out of control, which was exactly what was happening now to Lucia Fox. The part-Veela paused for a moment, and then spun on her heels, almost tripping over her uniform as she did so. She gave Cash a quick wave and smile, and left the courtyard.
Lucia Fox has left the thread
