Like...how do private schools here in America differ from British boarding schools? All I know is that: a) here Ilvermorny students would probably attend from ages 14-21 (rather than 11-17) and instead of "years" they'd be divided by grades (an idea I admittedly lifted from the Alexandra Quick series of fics).

America Schools are a bit strange, because they can be different if you go to a different state.
Most massachusetts schools are extremely boring unless you go to college.
While the Texas school I been to was awesome, because I got to learn about other fun things besides from the history, science, and math class.

If she's born in summer, she has to be 15 right now. -- This is a helpful age calculator if needed. Even if she was born on the last day of summer (or the first), she'd still be turning 16 according to this.

And yeah, obviously. If I'm not active by then then, who cares what happens to her ? If I stop playing her, it doesn't really matter if she's married or not

i guess it doesn't matter if serena married then. but i want to rp auri through her's. and im afraid i wont get to if its any years later. besides, you have nora if you ever want your characters to get married anytime soon.

I think you need to give her a birthday and work this out because I think you're confusing the dates. As far as I know:

All students have to be 11 years old when they start their First Year at Hogwarts. The semester begins at the 1st of September, which means that a student's birthday has to be 31st of August at the latest and the 1st of September at the earliest.

Yes, a student who is born on September 1st will turn 12 on their first day of school as Hogwarts always starts on the first of September. Meanwhile a student born on August 31st will turn 11 a day before they start school.

Current Fifth Years are born 1st of September 2005 - 31st of August 2006

According to this, if her birthday is 1st of Sept 2005 (the earliest allowed date), she'd still be 16 by/in Summer. She wouldn't be turning 17 until Sept, at the earliest. Even if she was adopted, she would still be 11 when she first arrives at Hogwarts (or turning 12 on the very first day of the year).

If uh, you're suggesting that she wants to held back a year and claim to be older (i.e. turning 17 by summer) then I think you need to contact Index to explain why and see if it's okay first. (I do not know if they allow it. I don't think they do but asking is your best chance of it being allowed).

And lol, just to clarify - I didn't say Aurelia can't get married. I just said I won't be roleplaying Serena getting arranged, because of real life experience. Having been through it, it sucked and it wouldn't be fun for me to write. So... I'm just personally not going to write it (I'm fine with my characters getting married when the time is right but not arranged as a child, personally as that OOC would feel too much like real life for me). But it's not a topic that bothers everyone, so you're welcome to write whatever you want. Others are also doing the same thing. As long as it fits in the site rules, it's fine to do that if you want.

age wise: I see lol assuming you put that through index? thank you for going through the trouble to do the math for me and no i dont want to go through index to prove she is 17. not worth the trouble at the same time, can't make me put her birthday as i haven't figured out and wont anytime soon.

i know you didnt say aurelia cant get married. was just sharing the reason why im getting her married young. isn't fun to write about trauma you've experienced definitely. sorry for the experience you went through irl man. likely wont need to, but anything about hadrian and aurelia's relationship i rp that unsettles you-or anyone else, in any way, dm me and ill explain/amend.
