FAQ — Questions
This would be completely plausible since your character is a muggleborn. The only rule around death is it has to be realistic.
Claiming a wizardborns parent got sick from an illness and died months later wouldn’t be plausible, because they should have access to a wizard hospital like St. Mungo. You cannot claim ‘they were too stubborn to go to the hospital’ as a reason why they would die, because that wouldn’t be realistic.
Some things to keep in mind when creating a realistic death is that even though Madi’s family may not be magical, they do have contact with the magical community through Madi.
I’m sure there’s things I’m missing, @Opeila Winters would be a great person to ask about this and go into the even-more specifics.

Since Madi is a muggle-born it would have realistic but you can. Like she died of illness or a car crash or oldnessMadi McQuade wrote: 29 Aug 2023, 02:41 Question about: (this is gonna sound grim) people dying. I'm planning on having Madi's grandmother pass away over the summer, but I don't really know any of the rules. Am I allowed to do that?

FAQ — Questions
Wizards and muggles do die. It just needs to be logical. For example, a pureblood uncle is not going to die from cancer (we can magic that away). But wizards are not immortal, they will still die eventually., A grand parent tends to be older. We are often reminding people that their mom is probably not dropping dead without a good reason, she is immediately adjacent to her child-bearing years. It happens (a lot in this community), it is like we have this orphan making machine in Index. All we ask is that it makes sense and that there is no rating breeches.

You may not write from another point of view that is not Delainie's or your iNPC's.
The one thing that is allowed is writing a reply owl from a dNPC (Read: only an owl, not an RP post with feelings and thoughts of a family member).
Reminder- When you answer questions, please make sure that you know the answer. Answering questions wrongly may confuse people and get them in trouble because they are breaking rules that they were misinformed about.
FAQ — Questions
To clarify since this may seem confusing.
The owl written by your family is an item. It is not an RP from their perspective.
So you can write:
The fact that the above has his perspective is what we do not allow. It should all be experienced from your point of view. A lot of users simply write the owl exchange (the owl contents) and nothing more.

What you cannot write is.Daughter,
It is great to hear about all the friends you have made. I am really happy for you.

__________James, Del's father shoved the owl off the perch. He could not believe that Del was doing so well in school. He expected her to fail like she always did, to come crying home like she always did and to simply depend on her more. So those words he penned, those lies were just that. Useless words scrawled on paper to hide his true venomous intent.
