Swan's mother was a half-veela. Nothing was so easy for this complicated family and no one could really understand what was going on in the head of Chinaka, the mother of our protagonist, who had studied in Uagadou. Chinaka was different from her husband, she didn't hate her child, she just wouldn't have wanted her to get pregnant and have it born. She had experienced a lot of problems with her specialty in her youth and even though she loved her child, she knew that it was also going to happen and that it would hurt her; She really, really didn't want that for someone like her son.
Indeed, Chinaka's mother was a completely Veela and she had been homeschooled. She was so proud to be majestically beautiful, to make the boys fall and then break their hearts. What's so cool about that? Nothing, but Chinaka's mother saw it that way. She had accidentally had a child with a wizard (oops, her power!) and she only saw one good side; teach her daughter to make people fall in love with the people around and to break their hearts. Horrible nah? Yes, it is.
Chinaka had continued this horrible life path during her childhood and adolescence in Uadagou but once she was an adult, she no longer wanted to look herself in the face, she was too ashamed. She didn't want to abuse who she was, her true essence to hurt those around her because of her beauty. She decided to fix everything by going to see and apologize to the men she had hurt and fell in love with one of them one day. It was at the same time her, his essence and him. She was really happy to have finally found someone who would deign to accept her and they were going to live a life in ministry just the two of them, with no one to change all that.
The man had met her where she lived and they went to Scotland; She was looking to get away from her mother, to find a job and where she lived, it was far too hot. She continued her life there.
Sadly and accidentally, Chinaka discovered that she had a child but a little too late. While she thought she had only gained weight, she had a child instead. Now two months away from giving birth, she felt too bad about having an abortion, and couldn't really. She kept the baby but was afraid. She took a different room from her husband's and cried every night, in secret. She was afraid that her future child, a boy, would have trouble with what seemed to be the same as her. To be half veela.
The day she gave birth to her son, Valentine's Day, she was a little disconcerted. Of course, she was half aware of what was really going on - childbirth is exhausting - but in addition, it was the day of the feast of love. Weird, isn't it? Indeed, it was and it was perhaps a bad omen. She left it at that. It was nothing so important, nothing but a child a little like her, less worse, born on the day of the feast of love, with a power that would bring down girls of love. In the end, she had reason to worry.
She did not want to take part in the future disaster and despite the secret love for her son, she hired a nanny to look after her and to homeschool him, before she entered Hogwarts. She named him Swan, swan, because of his already beautiful appearance at birth and continued her work in the ministry, despite the worries she had with her son. Even his nanny thought he was cute!

Character Backstory:

Swan was born into a rather strange family. His parents both work at the Ministry of Magic and hate Muggles and Muggles born alike. They think that they don't belong in their world and that they shouldn't be able to go to an elite school like this, like Hogwarts. It should be reserved for born wizards and purebloods, not mixed bloods (what a stupid idea to marry a muggle according to them!) or mudbloods. Well, that's what they call them.
Swan, he is different. He loves people, the world and discovering! Despite the influence of his parents, he can't wait to discover them, these Muggle born and see what it changes. So since his parents are often away, after his lessons at home, he goes to play, have fun, and try to discover more people. He has been living this since he was three years old. He spends his time with his nanny and the people of his small town in Scotland, even though he is part of the elite, with his rich family. Sometimes, it is hard but it is like this, his life. Her nanny literally followed her everywhere and he made friends very often.
As soon as he started to disobey, his parents always managed to keep him from going out. Even Swan was surprised since usually, his parents didn't really care about him... Was it a good thing? He had no idea, but at least he knew that soon, he would go to Hogwarts...

That day, Swan had just turned nine, it was his birthday. Even his parents were present but were fed up that he hadn't done magic yet. But hey, it was their son and they had to treat him well. They had bought a three-tiered cake, a huge cake and the moment he blew out the candles, the cake exploded. His parents were so proud of her first magic!

- some clarifications to make regarding your Part-Veela application:
> if Swan's mother studied in Uagadou, how did she end up in Scotland? Where was she originally from? If Chinaka didn't move to Scotland, Swan should be attending Uagadou as well, not Hogwarts; if Chinaka had always been living in Scotland, she should not have attended Uagadou, but Hogwarts
> Veela witches aren't a thing; Veelas have their own brand of magic that is innate and different to wizarding magic
- your encyclopedia thread name needs to be 'Name | Year | House' or some combination of that, not just 'Swan Clark'
- missing age as part of compulsory information in the encyclopedia
- please elaborate on 'discover more people'; was Swan sneaking out of the house alone as a child or was his nanny accompanying him? Swan should not be venturing alone as that suggests negligence by the caregivers
- probably a typo: parents working at the Ministry of Magic rather than Minister of Magic?
- When you make edits here to your backstory, please copy those edits over to your encyclopedia page

On the 28th of January, 2013, in a small cottage on the edge of Monmouth, Wales, Beatrice Elizabeth Woodstoke was born to Paul and Arawyn (wyn) Woodstoke.
For two years Beatrice grew up surrounded by nature and the love of her family in their little cottage and that love only grew when a new addition was added to the family. Her little sister, Eowyn, was born in early summer and the family moved to a bigger house across the border in England.
They settled in a small village on the edge of the River Wye called Symondās Yat and the girls spent most of their time exploring in the forest and making mud pies.
At four years old, Beatriceās mother had been cooking dinner when her sister, who was messing around in her high-chair, tipped her chair over and just before she hit the ground, she stopped falling, levitating as Beatriceās hands were held out in front of her on the other side of the room, subconsciously using her magic to catch her sister from falling.
When they were old enough, the sisterās attended a small muggle primary school that was walking distance from the house and during the holidays they visited their grandparents at their cottage in the South Welsh countryside.
Beatrice was a shy but intelligent girl and spent most of her time studying and reading up on all things magical and muggle. She was tutored by her mother and grandmother in magical studies and had an unrivalled sense of curiosity about anything and everything. She always adored helping her mother with making healing potions for her accident-prone sister, in-awe of how a few ingredients mixed together could create something so magical and found the process very calming. She was a very empathetic person and always helped people even if she didnāt particularly like them and spent a lot of her time nursing ill animals back to health. She was a highly sensitive child and always felt the burdenās of others as if they were her own. In social settings, she preferred to observe from the sidelines while her peers played games in the playground and always chose the company of her teachers and other adults to that of other children. She kept the same one friend that she made when the family first moved to the village and otherwise stayed in solitude. Her parents encouraged her to make friends and engage more with other children, fearing she was lonely and would become isolated and while sometimes she wished she had more friends, most of the time was content with animals to keep her company. She always seemed to have a unique connection with them. They didnāt judge her and didnāt mind her ramblings and long bouts of silence.
She was always a very aware child, able to pick up the moods of people surrounding her even if she didnāt understand how to interact with them. She noticed things others did not. A teacher constantly checking their phone, biting their nails anxiously, awaiting news. A classmate that always spoke a little too loudly, like he was afraid that if he didnāt make a scene that nobody would notice him and he would fade into nothingness. An owl that seemed to follow her around the woods by her house, beady eyes shining with the knowledge of something only they knew. She was aware of herself too. Her emotions, her actions, the way she presented herself. She was aware but she couldnāt change it or understand why.
At 9 years old her mother dragged her to a psychologist after months of tears after school and refusal to go to the school she had once loved and after a long conversation, multiple doctors appointments and her motherās refusal to let her child suffer, she was diagnosed with autism and anxiety. It took 2 years for the diagnosis to come through and a lot of denial on her familyās part but in the end she finally had access to help and answers as to why she was the way she was.
After finding a therapist who was right for them and helped her understand her mind better, she seemed to be a bit more confident in her own skin and that summer her Hogwarts letter arrived. While being extremely nervous to be in a new environment so far away from her parents, she had dreamed of attending the school since her mother had first told her about it when she was four. She studied hard that summer, wanting to be ready for classes and on the 1st of September her whole family drove down to London with their newly acquired do (her sisterās new best friend to keep her company whilst Beatrice was at school) and waved her off (with many tears) as she departed Kingās Cross Station on the Hogwarts Express to Hogwarts and the start of a new chapter of her life.

SEER
ReducioAs any child living in the magical world would, Keiran Kith comes from a somewhat convoluted background. The Murrays, from his mother's side, have carried the Seer gene for centuries, allowing them to see into the future and interpret signs and omens. The oldest Seer in their family traces back to Cameron Murray, a naming seer who once resided on the Isle of Skye.
His descendants scattered from their homes across the Scottish border in the late 1500s as they sought an escape from the uproar of witch trials throughout the region. They even settled as far south as Bristol, with Elidih's great-something grandparents building her home in an abandoned patch of land in Leigh Woods in the late 1800s.
The Murray Manor still stands as tall as ever today, a testament to the family's resilience. Every child reared under its roof is raised to be sharp, quick-witted and cunning- all the skills they attributed to their bloodline's survival throughout the Dark Ages. Whilst not every Murray may have necessarily turned out a seer, it was a family tradition to ingrain and hone their ability to fine-tune their intuition, go with their gut, and see the world for exactly what it isāa cesspit.
Elidih and Isla were no exception. Elidih moulded Isla in her image with a refined sense of cynicism: sheād become an embodiment of deception and contrarianism, a force of nature. It was a wonder how Elidih hadn't seen it backfiring from a mile away, her daughter landing herself in Slytherin before the sorting hat could so much as settle atop her wild mane of hair.
Grades were never the problem; bless her, but that mouth. If the prim Brits of the south hadn't seen a Scottish woman with a temper go off before, they sure did then; Isla wandering after every whim and wish within her grasp, clasping it with both hands lest her impulses and her ambitions consume her from within before they came to fruition.
One such ambition was Ewan Kith, the pretty Ravenclaw boy with mild manners in her Divination class. He was a mysteryāa puzzle. A quiet kid who knew too much not to be helpful, she set her sights on him and only him. Ewan himself was a seer, much to her interest, and the two bonded over betting whose foresight was more accurate.
Little is known about the exact origins of the Kith family; their elusive and enigmatic nature is a testament to their skilful dedication to their craft. Secrecy. Characterised by their speckled skin and blanched hair, the Kiths have always been known to deal in secrets, to be brokers of the future, and keepers of the unknown. If you wanted to dig up old bones or new prophecies, they were the people to go to.
For young Ewan, however, watching Isla ramble was just for the simple joy of listeningāhe even found her spontaneous rants entertaining. The boy had gotten used to his sixth sense, which accounts for most surprises in life, but she was unpredictable. Whether it was tassology or chiromancy, they sat side by side, debating, teasing, and bonding over their shared sense of intuition, their connection growing stronger with each shared moment - and the rest was history.
But the spell had to break eventually.
Elidih was left to tidy up Isla's mess, taking Keiran in after they realised they had bitten more off than they could chew. Running off to join the circus, of all places, what were they thinking?
Alas, the wain had become Elidihās burden to bear, and what was done was- well. Done. Whatever became of her daughter or ex-husband, sheād be sure to get it right with young Keiran, clasping his frail hands in hers when he arrived at her doorstep, cold, shivering, and confused. Sheād raise him to be more intelligent, wiser, more- cautious. By any means necessary, she would not allow her grandchild what Isla did: unadulterated freedom.
From that fateful night onward, Keiran became Elidih's passion project. His mornings rose with the sun, his days meticulously scheduled, and his nights monitored to ensure that lights were out by eightā
No detail went unnoticed. For a time, total silence had befallen the estate, with whatever free time Kei would scrap together spent doodling and dawdling. Elidih never batted a lash at his hobbies; she supposed every child needed a pass-time. It kept him quiet. Occupied.
The only peculiar thing about his drawing was how mundane it was. Boring, even. Sheād bought the boy a set of crayons for his fifth birthday, which heād decidedly left untouched apart from the blacks and greys. Heād draw the rain, even when the sun was shining- the sun, even when the downpour outside gave way to pelts of hail and thunder. It was odd. Keiran was an odd, bizarre child.
Still, she didnāt bother to question it.
Until one day, sheād laid eyes on a drawing of a man behind the door, and before she could comment, a brisk knock made itself known from outside.
āStaring is rude, child.ā she sighed, shutting the door. āItās just a lost muggle. Come on, tea time.ā
Odd. Odd. Keiran.Character Backstory:
Reducio
Despite his roots tracing back to the west coats of Scotland, Kieran comes to hogwarts from his Edwardian-style home in Leigh Woods, Bristol, where he was homeschooled and raised by his strict and authoritarian grandmother Ellidh Murray.
Stern and overly critical, Ellidh retired from her work as a law enforcement worker for the ministry of magic to raise her daughter, Kieranās mother, Isla. Curious about the Wizarding World and suffocated by Ellidhās conservative nature that limited her magical expression, Isla Murray ran away from home and her eloped with her boyfriend, Ewan Kith, at the age of 18 after finishing her 7th year at Hogwarts with overall outstanding grades on her N.E.W.T.s Exams.
Islaās free spirit refused to be institutionalised like her Motherās was, instead running off to join a circus group called āLumosā with a few other friends sheād made in Hogwarts as an adept fortune teller. Months after she and Evan had parted ways, she gave birth to Keiran, the young boy spending his formative years nestled between cushions where he was hidden behind the curtains of Islaās fortune telling tent.
Despite her best efforts to keep him, Isla realised that the circus wasnāt the best place to keep her son, instead returning with her tail between her legs to Ellidhās doorstep, leaving two year old Keiran in her care, much to her motherās dissatisfaction.
What mightāve been worse for Ellidh was how Keiran looked almost exactly like his mother, his baby blues shifting a honey brown as they grew older, thick dark hair pouring over his shoulders in waves, freckles speckling his skin.
With the exception of his poliosis, which he mustāve inherited from his father, causing the birthmarks that stretched along his skin and the white streaks in his hair, they were Islaās spitting image. These are a result of genetic inheritance, not magic.
Though the child grew up with the dire need to conceal these features - with his hair kept in a beanie and adjusting his collar constantly- their grandmother never saw these traits to be necessary to remove and so they remain unchanged by any magical means.
With naturally broad shoulders and a stance that somewhat resembles a lamppost, Keiran stands at 4ā8 at the age of 11 - another trait he clearly obtained from his father, Isla and Ellidh barely reaching 4ā5.
Homeschooled by his overly critical grandmother, who picked and prodded at anything within reach, Keiran grew to be fast on his feet, witty. Thereās always a sharp, spry response at the tip of their tongue, and like their mother, is never the type to go down without a fight.
At least, he wouldnāt be, if it werenāt for the fact that he always seemed to lack the momentum necessary to bite back, his words never seeming to move past the back of their teeth.
This reluctance may often be interpreted as pacifism, with Keiran coming across as the timid type - a person of few words. To him, itās more of a quiet strength that he possesses, the ability to keep his plans and ideas close to his chest.
Practically living most of their life in their head, they look at the world through a lease of skepticism, cynical by nature. However their inner critique has and will always be hardest on himself.
Growing up isolated, with no one close to share his inner world with, Keiran developed a penchant for putting his thoughts on paper, and has a terrible habit of keeping his shoulderās hunched and his jaw wound, sometimes finding himself forgetting to breathe when heās really engrossed in what heās working on.
Short stories, poetry, oodles and oodles of doodles- they knew how to keep themself busy as a child. Give Kei unlimited paper and inks, and heāll be content for life.First Instance of Magic:
ReducioEllidh Murrayās style of parenting was Authoritarian, to say the least. To her, it was a way of building character, of instilling discipline in young Kieran that she felt sheād failed to in Isla. The child never spoke back, anyway, it- was easy. To tell him what he was doing wrong, to set him straight, on the right path.
But there had been one day. One day- where. Heād lashed out. Which was never like him- she couldnāt even quite remember what it was sheād said- what heād said.
Just a vague mention from here of Keiranās mother and then- all the books in the drawing room tumbling down upon them, a shout so loud itād made both of their ears ring for minutes after.
He was only 8 years old- sometimes she forgot. The child was so terrified when it happened he ran upstairs and slept without dinner. An outburst like that never happened again, and Ellidh was sure to keep Islaās name out of her mouth in the future..

1.) Backstory for Special AbilityVeda's father Woods was a metamorphmagus, though Veda didn't ever know that he was (or she was), considering her backstory. Woods was very talented at changing his body, having a knack for it earlier on in his life. He always excelled in Transfiguration and found out he was a metamorphmagus in the middle of his first class. Woods since then got better and better as the years flew by. When he married Veda's mom he couldn't change how he looked in fear that Skye (Veda's mom) would see. Veda's first time she found out she was a metamorphmagus was not necessarily a pleasant one. She got to Hogwarts, settles into her room, and was having a great time. That was until she tripped in the hall after about a week and people started laughing. Her eyes started to turn blue, but Veda didn't notice until she ran to the bathroom crying and looked in the mirror. She shrieked, thankfully no one else was currently in the bathroom, and checked again. Veda tried to calm herself down. Maybe its just magical puberty? she thought. The next day, her eyes were back to normal. Veda convinced herself it was just a trick of the light and that she was crying to hard to be sure. However, one day Veda was in the courtyard, and she saw a fight happening. Veda hated, fights, and stupidly threw herself in the middle of it, then got punched in the face. Her nose was bleeding, but her eyes were red and orange with anger at the person and pain from her nose. Everyone started freaking out at her eyes, apparently not caring about her bloody nose, but Veda rushed off to the hospital wing before anyone could tell her. There her nose got fixed, and she was told she was a metamorphmagus. Before Veda could freak out, she was told it wasn't a rare deadly disease, rather she could control her body to change appearances. Veda was relieved, obviously, but still a bit hesitant to try anything out. Eventually she got over her fear and started changing what small things she could, like a haircut. She also tried to control her emotions showing in her eyes, but she had no success] Veda's metamorphmagus in the early stages of her time at Hogwarts is obviously very subtle, but also heavily controlled by her emotions. Mainly her eye colors. As she gets older, Vedas eyes get more pigmented in a color every time she feels an emotion. For example, if she was mad at eleven versus mad at thirteen, her eyes at thirteen would turn a darker red than her eyes when she was eleven years old. However, her eyes are not the only thing that changes. Once Veda found out she was a metamorphmagus, her hair decided to join her eyes. Her hair wouldn't change colors depending on her emotions, per say, but the brown would get lighter or darker. If she was sad ,for example, since blue is on the cold side of the color wheel her hair would get darker. However if she was ecstatic, yellows on the warmer side so therefore Veda's hair would be lighter. Those are the main things that change for her.
Character Backstory: Even before Veda was born, she had a complicated life. Veda's dad Woods was a wizard, while her mom Skye was a muggle. Woods never told Skye about his magical abilities, and eventually keeping that secret took a toll on him. Veda was only three when her parents got divorced and Woods left to get married to another woman, a witch. The last thing Skye ever heard about them was an invite to their wedding. All that time, neither Veda nor Skye knew he had magic. Veda got her curiosity, thirst for knowledge, and love of books from her father, while she got her kindness, loyalty, and empathetic personality from her mom. After her dad left, her mother was heartbroken, but she never showed the broken side to Veda. She stayed strong and raised her daughter on love and care by herself, never dating or remarrying. Since Veda was raised by her mom, that is probably why she got sorted into Hufflepuff instead of Ravenclaw. The kind side got nurtured more than the smart side, because her dad wasn't there. Ever since Veda was little, she has been helping charity, the homeless, and donating old clothes and food on her own free will. She never cared for Woods though, because no good person would leave a mother and their three year old daughter to fend for themselves. She was homeschooled until second grade, until she had to switch to public school because her mom didn't have time to teach her and work two jobs.
First Instance of Magic: Veda was in Elementary School when she cast her first instance of magic. She was eight years old in second grade. Since she was a quiet kid, no one really bothered her. However, the bullies were picking on a small, disabled boy. This happened every day, and one day she was sick of it. She confronted them, but then she started to get bullied too. Day after day of hiding her tears when she came home and telling herself, "At least the other kid isn't being bullied." Finally, she had enough. She could feel her calm giving way to unexposed wild anger, and she exploded. Wind blew all the bullies back, while Veda was telling them off, not even noticing her magic. No one was injured besides some scrapes, but her mother and herself were baffled. The next week, she and her mother were very surprised to see a man in robes outside their door, saying that magic was real. Afterwards, she and her mom debated if it was real, and they decided it at least worth checking out. It obviously turned out to be real, so Veda left for Hogwarts after getting her supplies.

- Please remove the coloured text in your trunk. We don't allow coloured text of any kind, unfortunately
- Can you elaborate on where the dad went? Veda may not know IC but we, as staff, need to know
- Why did Veda change to elementary school rather than stay in homeschooling? For a second, the wording made me think her presentation of magic was the reason she got put in Muggle school. Perhaps some rewording might make this clearer?
- When you make edits to your backstory, make sure to copy it over to your encyclopedia.
STATUS: Pending, Sereia, July 4
One last small note: while Veda may be a Half-blood, she was raised by her Muggle mother and was never told anything about the wizarding world. Hence, Veda would've had a Hogwarts staff member come in and tell her and her mother everything about it, not just a letter.

Now applying for Metamorphmagus. Please also edit your stats in your trunk to match this application.
Please don't separate the two aspects of your Metamorphmagus application and just keep it one big block of text; it's easier for us to interpret the word count of the application this way. Some notes regarding your application for the special talent: as this is taking place in Flying class, there are two things to take away-
> you will need to check in with our Flying professor to godmod him, since the realisation is taking place in his class. He may not have been talking directly to you during the class, but we won't allow any mischaracterisation that makes professors seem like they are incompetent
> additionally, you cannot roleplay any metamorph abilities until after the first week of the new school year (mid September) if you are to keep this backstory of how she found out about the talent. This is simply for continuity purposes with narratives
STATUS: Pending, Sereia, July 15
The stats in this application still don't match the stats in the trunk. Additionally, the stats in the trunk add up to 29, which is 1 point short. Please amend these and stay consistent.
To reiterate your Metamorphmagus application: you cannot roleplay any abilities until after the first week of the new school year (mid September) if you are to keep this story of how she found out about the talent. This is simply for continuity purposes with narratives.

Character Backstory: Maggie grew up the child of Shamus and Madeline Murphy - rich socialites in Dublin, Ireland. Her parents lived off the wealth they were both born into and spent their time organizing social gatherings and charity functions for the upper crust of muggle society. Born into generational wealth, Maggie's childhood was one of luxury. She never truly wanted for anything. Except freedom. But she didn't understand that.
Her parents were exceptionally traditional and raised Maggie to be very prim, proper, and polite. She was always top of her class. She had the best tutors money could buy after all. She took dance classes, and piano lessons and whatever else her parents wanted. She spent time with the other socialite children, but they weren't her friends. Not really. Her parents were all about appearances though. So she had to play nice. She had to attend the parties that she hated. She had to smile no matter how much she wanted to cry. She had to do everything just right. And if she didn't want to go to parties or dance lessons until her feet hurt, well then, she was "ungrateful". Or so her mother would say.
Any time she had an interest blossoming - like her interest in horror movies or video games - more often than not she was told it was a waste of her time. And "unbecoming of a lady". That was one she heard a lot from her mother. Sometimes things would happen. Things she couldn't explain. And her mother would get so upset with her. Her father would be disappointed. It would break her heart every time. Not that the girl ever talked about it. She repressed it. Like she did everything else. Least she be "ungrateful" and "unbecoming".
First Instance of Magic: Maggie was five years old when her first instance of magic occurred. It's honestly a blur in her mind now. A haze mixed in with all the other times her mother had gotten upset. Maggie didn't want to dance. Her feet hurt. Mother had made her practice for hours each day leading up to the party. She didn't want Maggie to "embarrass" her like she did last time. When she stepped on Tommy Sullivan's foot so hard he cried. She still wasn't sure if she did it on purpose or not. Surely not. She wouldn't do that. Would she? She shook her head and crossed her arms, hugging herself. And her hair. Oh, what they'd done to her hair. Her poor girls. They straightened them. She loathed it.
She sat on her bed, trying not to cry when her doorknob started rattling. It was followed by her mother's knock and angry voice. The door wasn't supposed to be locked. Maggie knew that. She was sure she hadn't locked it. She wasn't allowed to. She never did. Not since last time. She sheepishly made her way to the door and opened it. Her mother - for once -was speechless at first. She looked furious. She dragged Maggie to her father by her ear and once there began to yell loudly about her daughter's hair. Maggie hadn't realized it was curly again. She didn't know how it happened. Her mother seemed to think it was the stylist's fault. Cheap or faulty product that didn't stay. Who would've assumed magic? For once, Maggie got what she wanted. She stayed at home with the nanny. She didn't have to see Tommy or dance or go to the party at all. Her mother had already posted pictures of Maggie's new haircut on social media. She couldn't show up with her daughter's hair back to normal. Too embarrassing. She was in trouble for locking her door though. Even though she was sure she hadn't.

Coraline comes from a pure-blood family and has always been exposed to the use of magic. She was homeschooled, but she had friends. One day her mother took her to the park, where she met her wizard friend group (Allie, Callie, Carly, Chloe, and Kinsley). Unfortunately, they all now attend separate wizarding schools.
At home, Coraline loved to play with the bunnies that would come out in her backyard after dinner. Her bond with them was like no other. This was not a magical experience, however, and she could, in fact not talk to animals.
Coralineās parents both came from the house of Slytherin and her father works in the Ministry. Her mom is a stay at home mom, who takes care of the children and their pets. Coralineās mother attended Hogwarts and became an animagus. Her father was a beater for the Slytherin Quidditch team. Both were pure-blood, and so is Coraline.

Coraline was a quiet child, who tended to keep her to herself most of the time. She loves to read, draw and paint, and absolutely adores animals. When she is not reading or painting, she can be found writing a new story, more than likely alone curled up in a corner. Coraline is a very introverted girl, but is very intelligent indeed. She doesnāt like to work in large groups, as it raises her anxiety because she cannot control everything that happens to the group project.
Coraline is a little autistic, and has bad ADHD and anxiety, along with self-esteem issues. However, once you get to know her, she is the sweetest person and most loyal person youāll ever meet!Word Count: 380 words

On her 7th birthday, Coraline and her friends were in the backyard playing with the bunnies, as usual. When Coraline pointed at something in the woods, a spark flew from her finger and struck a tree, causing it to catch fire. Miraculously, the tree was unharmed and the fire put itself out. The girls were frozen in shock of what had just happened. Shortly after, Coralineās parents came outside to get the girls when all of them started talking at once. After explaining what had happened, Coralineās parents beamed with pride at the incredible thing Coraline had done. So it came to her as no surprise when she got her acceptance letter into Hogwarts.

Remember, we are all human behind our characters and we do not want to offend anyone. If you chose a disability that you do not understand well and/or may not be able to roleplay correctly, please eliminate it from your character's biography.
- Just FYI: Your biography details that your character has a pet. Nothing to edit, but just an FYI that your character cannot bring this pet to Hogwarts. Here are some things we are looking for to help you expand your character's biography:- Who are your character's parents and what do they do for a living? Must be jobs found in the wizarding world.- Your character is a Pureblood which means they do not interact with the muggle world and muggle culture. They stick with only the Wizarding world, unless there is a very good reason to why they would explore and live in the muggle world. Pure-blood family's earn their pre-Hogwarts education through tutoring or homeschooling.
- Does your character have siblings? If so, what are their names and ages?
- Just making sure that your character does not have the ability to talk to animals. Coraline may not speak or listen to animals. She can pet them and interact with them like a normal human being with an animal.
- Are the friends muggles? If so, they are not allowed to see magic and would not have an idea of what happened. We ask that first instance of accidental magic does not break the secrecy code of magic to muggles.

Character Backstory
Joseph grew up in a pure-blood family of five, consisting of his father, Cameron Sims, his mother, Quinn Brown, his older brother Nikolas, Joseph, and his younger sister, Adair. Having parents that had both been sorted into Slytherin during their time at Hogwarts, the family boasted their long wizardry ancestry, often looking down on muggles and muggle-born wizards or witches.
Though Joseph seemed to fit into the family perfectly initially, his reputation in the family went downhill in no time. His first act of defiance was refusing to eat any of the meat his mother had prepared for him on his fourth birthday, after realising it had once been a living creature like him. Though this infuriated his parents, nothing angered them more than when Nikolas reported that Joseph had made friends with muggles 3 years later.
Despite being grounded in his room ever since that incident, Joseph refused to obey his parent's will for him, breaking out of the house at night and fleeing to his grandmother, Skye Sims's house. For the next two years, Skye treated Joseph with care and love, and was the last connection Joseph had to the wizarding world. Unfortunately, Skye succumbed to Dragon Pox after visiting her nephew who worked in the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary when Joseph became nine and Joseph was forced to return to his old home.
Determined not to be associated with the Sims family, Joseph spent most of his outside with his two muggle best friends, Jacob and Astrid, while his competitive nature led him to seek fights and quarrels with his siblings when he was at home. Joseph often pretended that magic simply did not exist, despite knowing fully well it did. The pretence could go on no longer as Joseph finally received his letter of invitation to Hogwarts at the age of eleven.
First Instance of Magic
When he was nine, Joseph Sims had returned home after a long frustrating day as he had lost his wallet, which contained many of his most treasured items, so when his little sister approached him to ask for a new pen he was extremely irritated and without knowing he caused all the dishes on the dining table to suddenly levitate and speed towards the younger sister. Thankfully she managed to dodge the dishes in time and was not seriously hurt.

Character Backstory:ReducioFirst Instance of Magic: included in backstory, but copied down below againLexieās parents, and her family as a whole, were no ordinary people. Her father, Arthur Lovelace, was the second son of an old, wealthy, Muggle family from England, and had moved to California shortly after graduating high school to become a photographer. Similarly, her mother, Corinne Fitzroy, came from a prestigious pureblood family in America, and surprised everyone when she decided to start a new life as a singer in LA. They'd fallen in love when they were both first starting out, and the discovery of magic did not surprise him as much as she thought it would; it turned out that coincidentally, Arthur had a cousin back home who had attended Hogwarts named Alexandra Prince, who had her own daughter, Dealla. As their careers took off, they became a power couple of sorts, with Arthur known for his stunning concert photography and Corinne's beautiful voice securing record deals and fansā hearts. When she discovered she was pregnant, it only made sense for them to get married quickly and begin to start a life together.
Lexie, full name Alexandria Charlotte Lovelace, was born 3 minutes earlier than her twin sister, Juliette. She was the first of their four children, and she would spend the first seven years of her life in Los Angeles. Her parents took great care to ensure that their kidsā lives remained private, and due to Corinne's familyās magical background, the Lovelacesā privacy was even more important. Hence, in spite of growing up with privilege and her parentsā fame, Lexie's childhood was fairly ordinary and largely unaffected from the negative parts of Hollywood, and she could not be considered famous or recognisable in neither the Muggle nor magical world.
Speaking of which, both worlds, and both sides of the family, were certainly present and involved in her life. Lexie grew up learning about mathematics and science at school and then magical history and herbology at home; she played equal amounts of soccer as she did quidditch. She was a likeable child, if not a little stubborn, and she was never lonely - there was always a cousin to play and talk with, and of course, Juliette, with whom she was practically attached at the hip. In short, Lexie was happy - how could she not be? In her eyes, her life was perfect.
However, in actuality, things were far from it. Arthur and Corinne's marriage had grown increasingly tense throughout the years. The truth was that they had simply fallen out of love with each other - theyād gotten married young and in a hurry, and the stress and pressure of their jobs didnāt exactly help. Additionally, the differences between their upbringings, backgrounds, and lifestyles (magical vs Muggle) caused them both to feel isolated from each other - there were things that they just couldnāt understand about each other. Although they kept up appearances of being in love in public and in front of their family, Arthur and Corinne were constantly moments away from snapping.
In January of 2020, Arthur received news from England that his older brother Charles had died in a sailing accident. The entire family travelled to attend the funeral, where Arthur would be urged and convinced to stay in England - with Charlie gone, he was now heir to the Lovelace title and inheritance, and more importantly, his parents wanted him close in the wake of the tragedy. Arthur agreed without a second thought.
But he had forgotten about Corinne. What of her career, her family, her life in Los Angeles? For her, this was the breaking point. Unwilling to give up everything for a marriage she didnāt want anymore, Corinne packed her bags quietly in the middle of the night and returned home to California alone, leaving only a note explaining her departure. In the next few months, the divorce papers were signed quietly, and after eight years of marriage, Arthur and Corinne split.
For Lexie and her siblings, it would be an understatement to say that this was an incredibly challenging and confusing time for them all. Arthur sent them to boarding school in the countryside, with the logic that they would be better off surrounded by kids their own age rather than the grief and messy situation at home. Furthermore, although they were quite a distance from the American press, Arthur was still bombarded quite a bit with questions about the divorce, and he did not want to risk ruining the privacy he and Corinne had built up for the children.
However, things did not go particularly well at boarding school - at least not for Lexie. While her siblings seemed to settle in rather well, Lexie's forceful nature clashed with her teachers. She made friends easily enough, and she was incredibly smart, but she was unwilling to listen and respect any authoritative figures; it was only the Lovelace familyās long history with the school that kept her enrolled.
It was at boarding school that Lexie's first instance of accidental magic occurred. In her second month at the school, she had been skipping class and had climbed a tree on the edge of the grounds to avoid being found by anyone. Without warning, the branch she was sitting on had snapped and Lexie found herself falling to the ground. She shut her eyes to brace herself for the landing and the pain of potentially broken bones, but when she opened them, she found that she was completely fine and unhurt. She was eight at the time.
Unbeknownst to her, this was the event that would earn Lexie the acceptance letter to Hogwarts, which arrived on her 11th birthday. By this time, while she and her siblings were still very much aware of magic, their day-to-day exposure of it was pretty much next to nothing. Being in boarding school most of the time meant that they saw their family members, both magical and Muggle, only on the holidays, and so their knowledge and experience with magic had faded greatly. Still, Lexie had always assumed she would attend Ilvermorny like her mother if she turned out to be magical, but she was eager to leave her current school, where the teachers hated her. So on the 1st of September, 2024, she stepped onto the Hogwarts Express with Juliette, and her journey began.ReducioIt was at boarding school that Lexie's first instance of accidental magic occurred. Application: My arrival at Hogwarts was a dream come true, filled with the excitement and nervous anticipation that every first-year student experiences. The grandeur of the castle, the Sorting Hat ceremony, and the bustling energy of fellow students from all walks of magical life enchanted me from the moment I stepped onto the grounds. Little did I know, however, that my journey would take a unique turn with the discovery of my Metamorphmagus abilities.
The revelation came unexpectedly during a quiet moment in Diagon Alley, just before my journey to Hogwarts began. While exploring the shops with my mom, I found myself drawn to the mirrors at Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions. As I tried on my Hogwarts uniform, something curious happened: my reflection shifted. What had been my usual brown hair transformed into a vibrant shade of red, and my features subtly changed before my eyes. At first, I thought it was a trick of the light or my imagination running wild with excitement. But as I experimented further in secret, I realized with astonishment that I possessed the rare and magical gift of a Metamorphmagus. My mom was taken-aback yet not surprised me and she told me that my father was a metamorphmagi before he died. He took on the killing curse to protect me from dark wizards who wanted to use me as a study pet. After learning about that, I started practicing in my summer months before going to Hogwarts. My mother also found me a book on metamorph abilities.
Over the summer months I practiced every now and then. I studied that book over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. I knew all about metamorphs, except how to actually transform. So before getting on the train I made a promise. The promise that I would return at the end of my seventh year of Hogwarts, with full knowledge on metamorphmagus abilities, and a master at transforming. Arriving at Hogwarts, and getting sorted into Hufflepuff with this newfound knowledge was both thrilling and daunting.
During my first few days I practiced with my dorm-mates in the āColorful Quartersā gender-neutral dormitory. That was the best dormitory for me because there was a whole table of hair dye, makeup, nail polish, and a lot of other things! Every night I take the mirror from that table, go into the bathroom, and practice. Itās sort of like a ritual I have. And then at around midnight I go back to my dorm, put the mirror back, and go to sleep.
In sleep I dream of all the things I will do in Hogwarts in the future with my abilities. Sometimes I think beyond Hogwarts about what job I could have, or what good I could do in the world. I dream of bringing justice and order to the wizarding world by being an auror. Slaying dark wizards with my wand and using my ability to blend in.
I continue to immerse myself in the wonders of Hogwarts, I look forward to discovering more about being a Metamorphmagus. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth, both magical and personal. The ancient halls of Hogwarts and the wisdom of its teachers hold endless possibilities for exploration. Embracing my metamorphic abilities is not just about changing appearancesāit's about embracing the magic within and the limitless potential that lies ahead in my Hogwarts journey.

He grew up with only his mom, since his father died from having the killing curse put on him in order to protect Danial from being a lab pet. His mom was a witch author, who always had a project, but she always tried to take as much care to him as possible and tries to make long lasting memories. She always works really late, and may have insomnia. They are in a tight spot on money, living in a small apartment in Paisley, Scotland pating a rent just enough for them to still have dinner on the table almost all nights. He had grandparents. They always came along once a month to give hugs, have dinner and most importantly, gave out her homemade cookies! Grandmaās homemade cookies always tasted the best. And she didnāt use magic to make it for her, she used her hands to stir, mix, beat, and all the other movements she needed to make the most delicious chocolate chip cookies in the world. When she died, she left my mom the recipe. Mom always tried to make the cookies, but they were never the same. Grandma died from old age when I was 10. It still feels like sheās here, in my soul, in my heart. I put up a photo of her next to my bed at Hogwarts, with a clay model of a batch of her chocolate chip cookies.
First Instance of Magic: He was six, and his mom had invited her parents for Christmas dinner, so with dinner she also bought a cake. Danial came out of his room to check on if his mom was finished with dinner, and if his grandparents were almost here. The grandparents suddenly floo-flamed into their apartment and he got an instant shock, and he accidentally used magic and dropped the cake onto the floor.

Character Backstory:
ReducioThe Morvay family settled down in Plymouth, a port city in Devon, England. Growing up near the water was a pivotal experience for Amberley. She loved the ocean and how wild and untamed it was. While the beaches weren't as easily accessible, she enjoyed sitting down by the marina watching all of the boats go about their business. Growing up as a Half-blood proved to be an interesting experience for Amberley. Her mother, Veronica Blanchett, came from the esteemed Pureblood Blanchett family. After completing her schooling at Hogwarts as a Ravenclaw, Veronica went to London to work at the Ministry of Magic (Level 1). It was there where she met Fredek Morvay, a muggle who had been attending graduate school in London at the time. They fell madly in love to the chagrin of Veronicaās family, and after refusing to break off their engagement, she was disowned. Wanting to put down their own roots and start their own new lineage, Veronica and Fredek moved to Plymouth. Soon after, Veronica's younger brother Aster moved to the coast as well, a show of solidarity amongst the Blanchett siblings against the rest of their more traditional family. Because of all of the drama, Amberley grew up knowing little to nothing about her motherās side of the family and the magic that was attached to it. She knew that her mother had special magical powers, but had to hide it around the rest of her extended family on her fatherās side. Her mother never liked talking about her own family very much, so Amberley tried not to bring it up, despite her own curiosities. Perhaps it was the knowledge that she was so unwanted by people who barely even knew who she was, but Amberley always felt a determination to prove herself and her abilities. She worked incredibly hard in school, spent her downtime doing extracurricular activities, and learning more about the magical world despite her family's separation from it. Veronica was happy to foster Amberley's ambitions, while also being equally hesitant about her daughter being involved in the world she left behind.
Once receiving her Hogwarts letter, Amberley was excited to attend Hogwarts, especially knowing that her cousin Maeve would be there as well. As someone who tried to take up as little space as possible within the world while also wanting to make a name for herself, it would be helpful to have a friendly face around while Amberley adjusted to being at school. She was excited to begin her journey, though, and figure out what she was meant to do in the world.
First Instance of Magic:
ReducioFor a long time, the family had no idea if Amberley would show the magical side of her lineage, but eventually Amberley first experienced magic down at the pier as she was watching the boats pass by. She had been eating a sandwich when one of the pieces of lettuce fell out onto the ground. She saw a seagull nearby that was quite scraggly looking and was having difficulty walking. Amberley wanted to give the dropped piece of lettuce to the seagull but another one had swooped down and was eyeing it now. Fearful that the other seagull would get to the lettuce before the injured one, she reached out to grab it but instead of actually touching it, the lettuce swooped through the air landing right in front of the injured gull.
