Sorting Ceremony 2019-2020
Kate was excited to be finally at Hogwarts. She looked around the Great Hall as the hat sang. Her parents had told everything about Hogwarts and it was finally the beginning of her new life. She looked at the girl who took the hat off and ran to the Hufflepuff table and jumped when she heard her own name "Gray Kate". As she stepped forward she heard a clapping. She turned and looked at her cousins, sitting at the Slytherin table. They weren't the only Slytherins clapping. She sighed as she sat down and the hat fell over her eyes.
and here we have an other Gray. I remember your parents. They were proud Slytherins, but you The hat hesitated for a second you are different. Ambitious of course but also loyal. Too much ambition for an Hufflepuff thought. You're smart, but not very hardworking and quite rebel She smirked a bit at that remark
Not a Ravenclaw then. It's Griffindor or Slytherin. You're brave and I see you're going to fight for your ideals. But you wouldn't sacrifice a friend for your own glory or even for your own life. I know where to put you Kate held her breath as hat yelled
She stood up taking the hat off and looked at the cheering table. With a smile she walked towards them and even the deadly glare her cousin gave her wasn't enough to make her feel bad. Gryffindor was indeed the best word in her whole dictionary. She was sure of it as she sat down with the other lions.

I didn't like it. It fascinated me

I always tought that I would be brave and strong. Now I dont think so. I feel week, my stomach is sore and I have difficulty breathing. Everyone can see the fear in my eyes. I have feeling that this is not going well. When I hear someone says my name, I freeze. I wish I would just run away. But I know that I have to do this. I rise slowly and start walking to the Sorting Hat. I try to breath, but it feels inpossible. I sit down to the place, where hundreds others have sat and heard their fate.
When the sorting hat starts speaking, I feel that I lose my mind. It tells things to me. What kinda of people I am, what things I am going to be and what I am going to do. I feel kinda of angry.
With whose permission does it dig my mind? By what right does it dictate to know what I will be? I want to figure it out by myself. I´m not going to do what this Hat says. I am going to live my life how I want to live it.
I got first time tought: Maybe I don´t want to be here? Maybe I don´t belong here? But this is what I am. I am witch. This is the way I have to walk. And what ever it takes, I am going to do this.
I forgot that the Hat hears what I am thinking. It have thought long. What if its going to say, that I dont fit to any house and I have to go home?
Then it speaks to me again.
"Hmmm... you have a lot of traits that fit to Slytherin. You are sometimes glorious and a little cunning. But you would fit to Gryffindor. You are Brave and you are not afraid to sacrifice your life for another. But most of you just want to learn, make eternal trusted friends, and work towards it. You want to help others if possible. You want to be liked and loved some day. You fit the best..."
Now tw hat says it to everyone.
"HUFFLEPUFF"
They take the hat of and I walk to others Hufflepuffs.

Sorting Ceremony 2019-2020
I was so nervous being in front of so many people. All of the first years were all grouped together like a herd of sheep, surveying the beautiful surroundings of the school. I listened carefully to the sorting hat's song and applauded when it finished. I myself wanted to be in Slytherin, just like the rest of my family, but Gryffindor or Ravenclaw would suit me. Since I wasn't very social, however, Hufflepuff probably was out of the question. My last name made it so I was called somewhat in the middle of the pack.
Longhorn, Iha!
Taking a deep breath, I climbed up the stairs. The ragged Sorting Hat wrapped around my head, and I could hear it speaking to me.
Ah yes, another Longhorn! Quite a line of Slytherins. Good family. However, you are a bit different aren't you... maybe we need to go with... GRYFFINDOR!!!
The hall filled with cheers and applauds from the Gryffindor table, as I made my way down from the podium and to the other Gryffindors. The next first year moved up to the platform. While I was a bit... disappointed, I contemplated the Sorting Hat's words. A bit different? What could that ever mean?

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Sorting Ceremony 2019-2020
The approach up the stairs into the castle was both exciting and nerve-wracking for Adrianne Watkins. She had been looking forward to this day ever since her older brother had gone off to Hogwarts two years ago and had heard tales from him of this day. He had been sorted into Hufflepuff and told her tales of late night snack runs to the kitchen from his common room and how he and his friends would get up to mischief and prank the other houses. Her brother was a beloved student of the professors here at Hogwarts and she felt there was a lot to live up to.
Upon reaching the top of the grand staircase that would lead her and the other first years into the Great Hall Adrianne suddenly broke out in a nervous sweat as she realized this was it- she was about to be sorted! Glancing around at the other students she noticed they too were nervous. As the doors to the Great Hall were opened Adrianne gasped. It was so much bigger and better than she had imagined! Remembering what her brother had told her about the enchanted ceiling she looked up in awe at the sheer spectacularness spanning above her revealing a stunning night sky and stars twinkling far above, accenting the beauty of the moon. She was so stunned by the ceiling and by her surroundings that she almost bumped into the first year in front of her but stopped herself just in time.
The first years had all gathered in a group up by where there was a very tattered looking hat sitting on a stool. Because her brother had already told her about the sorting ceremony she knew what to expect and therefor wasn't as surprised by many of her fellow first years, though she was still caught a bit off guard, having never seen anything like it before. The sorting hat sang a song about the four houses of Hogwarts: Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. Adrianne wondered what house the sorting hat would put her in. Would it be Slytherin like her mother? Or Hufflepuff like her father and brother? While she was standing there lost in thought about what house the hat might put her in she heard the hat call out "Gryffindor!" and someone she thought was named Iha Longhorn put the hat back on the stool and join the Gryffindor table.
Before she too much time to wonder how long it would be before they called her name she heard "Watkins, Adrianne!" and nervously walked up to the stool and put the hat on her head.
Ah, said the sorting hat. Another Watkins eh? I remember sorting your brother and your parents. Are you going to follow in the footsteps of your mother or your father and brother?
The hat paused as if contemplating what to say next. It felt as though the hat were looking deep into her soul and her memories, and it was a weird feeling knowing the hat could see all parts of her mind.
Nothing was hidden from the hat.
No, I don't think you would do well following in your family's footsteps of being in Slytherin and Hufflepuff. I rather think there is something much deeper hidden away in you waiting to be discovered, something you yourself don't yet know.
Adrianne wondered where the hat was going with this. What did it mean there was something yet to be discovered in herself? She was intensely curious at that.
Yes, I think you will do quite well in the house I'm thinking of. You have the heart of a true GRYFFINDOR!
The hat shouted the last word to the whole hall which was waiting in anticipation. The table filled with those clad in scarlet and gold clapped and cheered loudly and welcomed her to their table with many pats on her back and a chorus of "well done's" by many of the older students there. She sat down next to the other first years still feeling a bit stunned but also immensely relieved to know where she belonged. The hats words still rang in her ears and she knew that later she would think more about what the hat had said. At the Hufflepuff table her brother gave her a thumbs up and Adrienne felt relieved. It was going to be a good first year at Hogwarts.

azure gaze downcast into the hole of his dilapidated shoes. shoulders squared and spine set ramrod straight, it was an understatement to say he was ill at ease in the fantastical great hall. the other kids approaching with him seemed of an impossibly different plane and he was daunted to say the least. coming to a stop the sorting ceremony began...
thirty minutes have passed since it had started when the cheering dies down from the last kid being placed and the only sound to be heard is calm breathing and his own heartbeat, there’s a slowly increasing pressure cole feels against his being, anxiety rising in soul, causing a downward gaze. perhaps they got it wrong? What if he wasn't meant to be a wizard? was all that rang through his head until something broke the silence.
"Cole Dubois?"
he doesn’t initially register the comment on the spot, but soon realizes his name was called after around two seconds of people looking around and wondering about who it could, cole raised his head quickly, jumping ever so slightly. his heart now beating – palpitating, even – with endless action like never before. plodding forward, he sat down awaiting his house. when a leathery figure was placed on his head.
"ah... hmm....i see...this house should put these fears at ease.
GRYFFINDOR!"
surprise is the first reaction he feels but quickly does it die away, as wide eyes filled with wonder. excitedly he raised from the stool, moving with a little more pep in his step towards his house's table ready for his future.

⠀ The hall air is cool between the cracks, in tuneless numbers of those whispers and talking are full enough to tremble skin and anxious bone– a boy taken by admiration of his surroundings; he treads the downtrodden regions of a lost mind, spacing out. In his retrospect, as the ceremony takes its time to smooths o’er the many heads that mar each and every quarter of time, their divisions marking the next inflicted year, he grasps the stage right before him. "EdWard Bewixt?"
⠀ Upon the call of his name, in oblivious streaks; he did not hear it the first time, "EdWard Bewixt?!" OH! He stands up quickly spell-bound by the way the world waxes around him. Smitten by the aggression in his call-in, by the classic swell of his chastity that no bloom could match– pellucid and authentic in all the meanings behind his tender slow walk like the white rain that falls, tittering against dry panes bare on the stage. It was his time now!
⠀ His eyes are tightly closed, recovering from embarrassment woes that hue the centre grey, of which he spent what seemed to be hours striving to break away from the moorings of its calamitous hold; luminosity quelled by the brightness of the moment– 'Ooooh my. A difficult boy, mmm .. No, not there.' His hands, callous with skittishness of hunger now, belly grumbling. 'A silly boy, creative though; quite witty, huh?' Diminutive details such as that ne’er escaped the augmented, phosphorescent gaze of an approaching shout.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 'RAVENCLAW!'
⠀ He steers himself off the stage now whom also took note of where to head next, fabricating a subject to talk about until the moon would have him away again–a raven! he is just a libertine looking for someone to talk with in this new cliche of people.

Sage slowly stepped into the magnificent hall which was full of people, most sitting at a table. She looked around at the crowd that surrounded her and could feel her insides churning nervously. She had heard lots from all the houses and was excited and happy that she had gotten in at all. She wasn’t hoping for a specific house, she was mostly hoping that she would just get sorted without any trouble. She stood next to the other first years, most of whom looked petrified or bubbling with joy. She found herself somewhere in between the two categories. The starry sky above her looked like a painting; so beautiful it couldn’t possibly be real. She waited as the hat sung a song, which startled her at first. She remembered her parents telling her about how the hat would burst into song but she still hadn’t prepared. She was practically shaking as she looked up at the hat and the stern looking headmaster. When the hat finished with its song, the headmaster began to call up names. Every time a name was called she’d shake a bit more, nervously waiting for her name. The crowd around her began to diminish until it was just her and a few others who also looked petrified. She could feel eyes on her from the other students and she felt sick. “Double Sage!” The headmaster called out loudly.
She gave an almost silent yelp and jumped a bit before rushing up to the stool. She hopped and closed her eyes. “Sage Double, hmmmm?” A voice rang.
“Are you the sorting hat? You can actually talk inside peoples heads? Are you alive or is this a programmed response?” She asked, not hesitating at all.
“Very curious hmm? You’d be a good Ravenclaw but I think there’s something else. You’re a kind, gentle person then, like a Hufflepuff. You also seem to be quite ambitious! A very good Slytherin, but I think there’s more. Aha! You’re extremely adventurous and brave, a disregard for the rules, underneath the calm and quiet demeanor is a very curious and outgoing girl isn’t there? Yes, I think I know what you are, GRYFFINDOR!” The hat said, yelling the last word so the rest of them could hear as well.
Sage’s eyes flew open as she took off the hat and bounced over to the Gryffindor table cheerfully.
Sage was now a Gryffindor and she planned on making lots of friends.

Silver couldn't believe he was here, at Hogwarts. Finally. His parents had always talked about Hogwarts like it was some grand adventure; one that he was now on! He looked around the hall and just gaped in awe at everything that was surrounding him. It was huge and everything had a magical feel to it.
He looked up at the ceiling, at the sprawling night sky above him. It was amazing! Then his attention turned to the Headmaster as he began his speech. Silver gasped when he realized that the ratty old Hat on the stool was talking back to the Headmaster. Then it began singing, and Silver was enthralled.
He had no idea that a Hat could be sentient! "Wow," he muttered under his breath. No wonder his parents hadn't told him how he would be sorted; he'd have never believed them! Once his name was called, he stepped forward a little nervously. What if it said he wasn't fit for any of the Houses? Would they make him go back home?
When the Hat slipped over his head, he froze in fright. "There, there, no need to fuss, I won't hurt you," A voice spoke, and it sounded like it was in his head.
"Woah, are you speaking to me telepathically?"
"I am. I am a very intelligent Hat. I can read your thoughts, and I know what House you'll be good for."
"You mean I'm not going to be sent home?" Silver asked in earnest.
"Of course not; there's magic in your blood. You belong here. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be happy, in... HUFFLEPUFF!" the hat announced loudly. The table full of yellow scarves and pins burst into cheer and Silver breathed out a sigh of relief.

Sorting Ceremony 2019-2020
Henry stood at the back of the group of first years and started to tap his legs rather quickly with his hands from nerves. As he looked around at the head of houses then to the four long tables filled with students of all ages he started to panic even more.
Henry tried to calm himself as the croward of first years, got smaller and smaller. He was sure that any minute his name will be called to be sorted and he will do something to humiliate himself. Henry tugged on the collar of his robes as he dreadfully awaited his turn to be sorted.
"Knight, Henry" Headmaster Lear's voice rose above everything else, Henry looked up terrified as he started to dragged his feet nervously toward the front of the group of first years. Once he found his way to the front, his hands were snaking as he held them by his side and fear have surrounded his eyes. He thought headmaster Lear's smiled at him for encouragement but couldn't be sure as he took his seat on the stool, where he looked out to see hundreds of students staring back at him. As professor Lear dropped the hat a upon his head, it slipped a few inches just below his eyes to block his sight from the others.
Henry thought he heard a voice in his head as he sat there, unmoving like a statue in hopes he didn't embarrass himself.
Interesting, not something you see everyday. There's knowledge, yes plenty of that and a strive to learn more. Won't be bad in ravenclaw, maybe.
Henry sat still thinking Ravenclaw wasn't bad at all, he loved to be a ravenclaw and be recognized for his knowledge. Henry tried to keep a blank face but it was hard to keep his many nerves and worries away.
but there's also a headstrong loyalty and a thrive to help those in need interesting, and also courage what little courage but courage that could do for gryffindor
gryffindor also sounds good, that would be nice to be in a house known for bravery and courage maybe my own might grow over the years but also where is this hat seeing courage in my head because last time I checked I didn't have none. Maybe this hat is a bit rusty from sorting students on these years? Henry started think as he looked in the dark brownish hat as again he heard a voice in his head that seemed to be a bit angry with him but also determined.
How dare you, for I'm the Hogwarts sorting hat and throughout many years I have done my job correctly for each and every student that I sat on, including you. While some question my choices, I have never been wrong about my decision. I always find the correct house for each student no matter how long it takes.
Henry thought he heard himself gulp as the sorting hat spoke, he didn't want to be there for long. Henry couldn't have imagined to have a hat stall that lasted around 10 minutes or longer. Henry felt himself gripped the edges of the stool as the hat continued to speak in his head.
Trust my decision now, eh. With plenty of knowledge and a keen for learning ravenclaw would be a suitable place for you...mm what's this, interesting a strive to prove yourself and a strong will to find your place, to step out of being a outsider. Well then, with this information better be-
-SLYTHERIN
Henry almost jumped as the hat shouted slytherin out to the entire hall. Headmaster Lear's took the hat off his head and nodded in the direction of the slytherin table, Henry understood the message and slipped off the stool to the slytherin table that was applauding for him. Henry couldn't believe that others were applauding him, he couldn't help but to smile a little as he took a seat at the end of the slytherin table.
As the slytherin table started to quiet down, Henry turn to stare at the remaining first years who were waiting to be sorted still. Henry smiled a bit to himself, he couldn't believe he was in slytherin. The same house both his father and older brother were in, even through his best friend got sorted into gryffindor he still was happy from the outcome but he also did want to prove that he was not a outsider, that he was intelligent while also a loyal and good friend during this time at Hogwarts and the sorting ceremony was only the beginning for him.

but there's also a headstrong loyalty and a thrive to help those in need interesting, and also courage what little courage but courage that could do for gryffindor
gryffindor also sounds good, that would be nice to be in a house known for bravery and courage maybe my own might grow over the years but also where is this hat seeing courage in my head because last time I checked I didn't have none.
