It's based on Real Time, right now so everyone will move up a year in August 2019.
Right now, homework has no impact on the years. Originally, you had to do 25 to move up but this clause was removed. So there's no need to rush the homework before September - this won't have an impact on your year right now.
But I'd recommend you still do it, when you can! It is useful to give you skills that you can use in events during your year.

Hello everyone! Happy Eid! (for those who don't know, Eid is a special celebrating occasion in my religion, sorta like Christmas).
Now, my question. The thing is, I completed my charms homework, it has been graded, I'm happy and moving on. But, I think I need to add the spells I've learned in my Encyclopedia page, in the 'Trunk' post. But there isn't an edit/modify button there. How am I supposed to add in the potions and spells now?

If your trunk is official then only the game master can edit your trunk. No worries though, you can get it updated still. Just use this thread to request an update. Offical Trunk Update Thread. If you include the formatting of how you want your trunk they'll put it in as such as well. I hope this answered your question.

Hi, I have a question.
I created a character page months ago for the index and my name was added as a first year. I recently checked and it wasn't there. I am quite confused. I read the recent FAQs about moving up a year. I joined the website before July and I was wondering when I will be moved up to second year. I did a registration again and everything just now.

About a month or two ago the registration system was revamped, everybody was removed from it when that happened, that might be what happened.

Just expanding on what Delilah said. Once your encyclopedia page has been approved, it will be added to the official index again - and yes, you'll be listed as a second year. Shortly after (it might take a little while as it has to be done manually), your profile will display 'second year' too.

So. What should I do if I want to make a thread in the Forbidden Forest? I mean, I want to make a thread in which my char sneaks to the forest, gets caught and gets detention. Is that possible?

Since the Forbidden Forest is off limits to everyone, people occasionally make threads in the Grounds and say their character explores into the Forbidden Forest. However, I don't suggest you do this, as it is against the rules for students to venture into the Forbidden Forest (for good reason).
