Eris beamed at Eri, leaning across her desk to give her a high-five. "That's my kinda girl! She knows about Peter Pan!" Eris was beaming so widely, her face was starting to hurt. She was overjoyed to be talking to so many people, well more so she was listening to so many people. As she listened to the story about the fish, Eris opened her mouth to say that it wasn't that interesting a story, but stopped at the rare look on Keagen's face. It was so happy that Eris had to close her mouth and stop her reply. After a moment she responded, "That's a lovely story. The Fens sounds beautiful. I really would like to visit it someday." She hoped that was the right thing to say, though she was being quite honest. She would really like to visit the Fens and the story was lovely, even though it wasn't the type of story Eris would of told as a children's story.
Eris's feet swung even faster. "Well class is about to end.." She said, unsure of what else to say. Hopefully they would still be friends outside of class.
(should we continue this in another room or stay here?)

Kaegen's soft smile spread even wider, and he turned to look at the girl. "Someday, you should go there. You could come visit me. I would show you the invisible tides, the rushes where the faeries hide. The silvery fish that dark in the black. The perfect silence that the fog carries with it." His voice was a lot louder now, sounding more normal, but it still came out smoothly, like a ghost gliding through a wall and up into the ceiling.
Kaegen glances around in surprise when eris mentioned class ending. He probably should have been paying attention. What was he supposed to do after class? Leave, maybe? Leave where? It would be nice if he could go wherever he was supposed to with someone. He had already decided that most of the people here were alright. Who knows, they might even become good friends, provided he could at least try to be interesting. Back at home, his softness was considered normal, like the fog that constantly covered the water. His softness served to protect him, to make him a wraith among the weeds. But here he thought it may have the opposite effect. Everyone moved crisply, he wanted to be interesting, but standing out was something Kaegen didn't think he was ready for. If something stood out, it had to defend itself, or it was eaten. Being eaten didn't sound very fun.

Eris smiled, imagining in her head the beautiful place Keagen had described. "It sounds truly beautiful." She said and meant it. "I would love to come visit you there. Maybe you can come visit me in London. You can visit my childhood haunts with me. There's nothing as profoundly beautiful and breathtaking as Fens, but I promise London is fun. We have a metro," She said as if it was the most amazing thing in the whole world.
"Anyways, what now?" Eris said, watching people file out of the room. She didn't want to admit it, but she really did want to hang out with her new friends. Was it okay to call them friends? They had just met, but Eris had already deemed them friends. She did trust too easily.
Eris was like wildfire, always burning. Larger than life and just as deadly if not kept contained. Back home it wasn't normal for someone to be as loud and dynamic as Eris, but here she was just another first year with a temper and a love of magic. But maybe with a new group of friends, Eris woudn't be just another normal lame first year.

"I don't think I would fit in very well. London sounds far too big." Kaegen thinks about things he could do, thinks about taking a nap but then thinks harder of what eris just said. Did she want to come along? If she did, maybe taking a nap wasn't such a good idea after all. There were two places Kaegen wanted to check out. The lake, and the forest. Any place that had a lake couldn't be all bad.
"Do you want to go to the lake?" Kaegen asked the girl, already starting to hum that broken tune. It almost seemed different, but maybe he just messed up a note or something, it was too similar to tell. And besides, it was so quiet he probably could have sung anything and have it pass for wind through the leaves.
He wonders for a moment what song the girl would have. He used to label the plants and animals in the fens, he even gave them their own songs. He would do the same to his classmates, as soon as he could figure out what kind of people they were. This girl seems nice though. Probably something upbeat... Kaegen packed his books into his bag and thought about music, waiting for the girl to respond

(lake it is, i'm going to call it unlikely friendships if that's ok)
Eris followed Keagen out the door, bouncing a little with each step. She thought for a moment that he was going to ask her to leave but then Keagan asked if she wanted to go to the lake, and Eris found herself nodding her agreement. "Let's go to the lake!" She said enthusiastically, practically skipping.
How in the midst of all the suffering in Eris's life, she had continued to be so happy, it was impossible to know. Maybe it was just a mask, or maybe Eris was just an upbeat person.
"That's fine with me. London isn't for everyone," Eris said after a while, thinking about what he had said about not wanting to go to London. "Honestly, I'm too afraid to go back. It may be lovely, but my family isn't." She lapsed into silence again, listening carefully to Keagen's humming. It was a lovely, broken melody. She wondered what the song meant to him, but didn't want to ask. She knew it wasn't her place to comment. The boy seemed broken, like Eris. But he seemed more broken on the outside, whilst Eris hide how she felt. Maybe they could be broken together.

Eri followed the two out of the classroom. "Have a great rest of the day!" She said as she decided to go to the library not wanting to intrude on their trip to the great lake and she needed to return books and check out new books.
She remembered she forgot her bag in the classroom so she went back and got it.
Seeing more things written on the board she wrote it all down with a quill she got out of her bag and a peice of parchment. Putting everything neatly and carefully bag in her bag. Potions class was over she could stay and do another potion or go to the library. She chose the library and quickly went to the door.
She remembered her aunt told her about a book in the library that she should read. Eri decided she would look for that book when she got there.
She stood next to the door looking at the ingreidents in thought. She thought about potions and spells and many other things related to hogwarts. She shook her head and snapped back out of thought. She took another glance around the classroom seeing if she left anything. Seeing nothing she headed out of the door and towards the library.

Claryssa rushed quickly into the potions classroom, passing by the Ravenclaw girl who shared a dorm with her on the way out. She smiled, nodding her head in greeting, and took a stand behind one of the available tablespaces, retrieving her textbook from her bag. Trying to keep up, her gaze darted around the room, narrowing in on the current page they were studying, and she flipped there quickly, relaxing as she produced a quill and ink and began taking notes on various safety measures.
Now that the small trio had exited the space, the room was relatively quiet, and she took her notes in silence, proud of the cursive she'd been practicing as the Professor reiterated for the thousandth time not to drink any potions without explicit instructions to do so. She wrinkled her nose, listening to past year horror stories of students giving themselves giant noses, turning their skin green, or even barfing up slugs. Gross! Clary hoped most of these were simply old rumors meant to scare new students straight and steer them from the path of trouble, though from her limited experience in the wizarding world so far, she did have a few doubts.
Magic seemed to be used in all aspects of their lives, and where there was certainly "good" uses for magic, she was sure there were also a million different ways for things to go south as well and miss their targeted goal. Taking careful note of the safety parameters, the young Ravenclaw girl listened to the Professor's lecture, resisting the temptation to raise her hand and ask about the specifics of past years' mishaps with potions. Surely it couldn't be that difficult! After all, the clear instructions were right in the book in front of her, almost as if she were baking a platter of cookies. She was sure she'd get the hang of it no time... Famous last words.

She hugs her books closely to herself while looking down. She only looks up to find an empty seat, and sees one in the far back corner. Not feeling sad about being alone, she walks quickly to the desk and sets her books down, afraid to look at everyone else. So she sits there nervously, waiting for class to start. She's excited to start classes ever since she got her owl about being accepted into Hogwarts. Only time for her would tell if she would fit in at all.

Erwin slowly entered the room after peaking his head though. Of course he was late. When was he not. He looked around the classroom for the professor and when he found no one,he breathed a audible sigh of relief. He breathed in. Then out. Before taking a few shaky steps in...and tripping over his long robes. The world seemed to move in slow motion as his face hit the stone floor with a loud SMACK.
"Okay..Ow"
He muttered as he raised his hand to his now red face. It ached and stung as he got up,brushed himself off and sat down. He placed his head in his hands and sighed.
"Erwin you moron.."
He cringed back slightly as he withdrew his hand and patted his sore cheeks. He looked around at his fellow students and his eyebrows furrowed.
"Great first impression you clutz"
He muttered to himself before grabbing his book and placing it on the desk in front of him.
He couldn't help the exasperated sigh that escaped him as he thought of his embarrassment.
Of course no one had mentioned it yet and he began to wonder if anyone actually saw his trip. If they did they were very good at hiding it.
His thoughts drifted as he began to read the book in front of him, still wondering where the teacher was.

Evan was late, of course he was. Like many others, the boy was the opposite of organised. The opposite of the synonyms of organised! Organisation and Evan Park did NOT go together, and they should never be paired. Nonetheless, he went to an unoccupied place to stand. Place to stand, how specific Evan; he really had strange phrases to name things. He reached inside his bag, quickly enough to possibly land on the floor after recovering a textbook he had gathered. It would do, he decided. It had to, as it was compulsory, why wouldn't it work? Anyways, he took it out and quickly began to turn the pages so he would be on the same level as the rest of the class. Being unable to do work later on would be embarrassing, and he would hate to be called out for it.
As the Professor continued, Evan tried to make sense of what he was saying. He'd missed a good while of the class and was worried it would just be registered as... words. Of course not! He aimed to convince myself that there was no danger whatsoever, and nothing could go wrong. Unfortunately, that exact phrase was known to always backfire like in the movies, or maybe the coincidences caught up to you in the real world. He instantly regretted saying this, as he instantly believed something would go wrong rather quickly. He read the pages in the textbook and paid extra attention to the Professor, for a few moments, before it returned to just normally listening like he usually did.
