The Gryffindor Table 2019-2020
[quote]Deyanira strides into the Great Hall with her hands buried in the pockets of her pants. Her eyes are trained on the Gryffindor table, the only place where she wants to and does belong. It always made her happy to where her house colors, which she was wearing at the moment. Underneath her robes she wore the crisp red vest of Gryffindor, the crest poking from underneath the robe. She wore the long pants for winter, even though she didn't mind the chill. If she had felt like she would've worn shorts.
She kept walking until she was near the middle of the table and sat down in an empty seat, glancing at the person sitting next to. She didn't say anything to them, just picked up a plate and started grabbing food to eat, ending up with some pasta, garlic bread, and corn. Her heart was beating a little quicker than she liked, but she told herself that it was because of the stress of her schoolwork, not because she was around a bunch of strangers she hardly knew.
She bit into a piece of bread, chewing slowly. Deyanira realized mid-chew that she hasn't poured herself anything to drink, but that was because the beverages were too far away.
She turned to the person next to her. “'ey, can yer pass me de jug av juice? T'anks.””

The Gryffindor Table 2019-2020
Lycan after having been to see the sorting hat was placed in Gryffindor, treehouse his father was assigned to. Lycan felt very honored to have been given to that house. He scanned the large mass of people until his eyes landed on the Gryffindor table. He smiled and made his way over to the Gryffindor table. Finding an empty spot on the bench, he took his place. Not long afterward Amy was called up. She ended up being placed into Slytherin.
Lycan wished they had gotten the same house, but they had promised to be friends no matter what and he smiled as she made her way to the Slytherin table. He then began to take in his surroundings. The amount of food on the long table was insane. It was practically a buffet. Lycan helped himself to anything in reach that he wanted. He didn't really pay attention to who he was sitting by until someone spoke to him.
" 'ey, can yer pass me de jug av juice? T'anks." the girl beside him asked. Lycan couldn't help but grin and nodded and he reached over, grabbing the container of juice and giving it to her. No idea where she's from but I like how she talks. he thought to himself as he began eating the food in front of him. He wondered if she'd get angry if he struck up a conversation or if she'd like it. He bit his lip at the dilemma, not sure which way was the right way.
Well no harm in trying I guess? he thought again and bit his lip more. He turned his head towards her, figuring the worst that could happen would be she'd tell him to be quiet or she'd just ignore him or something. Or she'd surprise him and she'd actually answer. You never know if you never try. "Sorry to bug you, but if you don't mind the curiosity... Where are you from? he asked her.

Viv sits down quickly. Omgish.... I'm a Griffindor. She could've swore she would be Slytherin… or even Ravenclaw. How could she be Gryfindor when the second she thinks she has made a friend she loses them. The Griffindor table is quite loud and she personally thinks looks the most fun. Her stomach begins to know up but she pushes that feeling aside and looks around. She puts a brave face on. I will make friends and i will become popular and get the love i deserve, Viv thought. I need to figure out how this place works and who to become friends with. Tbh Viv just wanted a group of friends... that all. " Hey everybody !!" Viv says quite excitedly. She can't believe she has a dorm room wanting and classes to take. She has freedom she has never experienced. I hope i make friends. she thinks one again and begins to eat. Her food either tastes better than normal or its the magic that fills the air. Her home in Ireland was never this, exciting .She wonders whihc teachers she will like and which ones will like her. "Hogwarts here I come." says Viv under her breathe and turns to the kids beside her.

The Gryffindor Table 2019-2020
Shoes squeaking against the floor, Kayden Mae takes her place at the Gryffindor table, stepping over the bench and bumping into the person next to her. She sits straddling it, one leg under the table and one in the aisle between her table and the one beside her, and stays that way for a moment, looking around with her back pressed to someone’s arm. Her dark blue eyes sweep the table, wide and under raised eyebrows, framed by pieces of mousy brown hair that have escaped from her loose, messy bun. She sweeps the strands back, half irritated but barely paying attention, and grins at some down the table when they meet her eye. After a minute or so, she awkwardly swings her leg under the table, flashing a half-apologetic grin at the person she’d been nearly leaning on. She looks up as someone turns to her and beams ear to ear.
“Hi! I’m Kayden Mae - or Kayden, or whatever. I don’t really care. I mean, my parents always call me Kayden Mae, and my brothers too, usually, but sometimes Elliot just calls me Kayden or something else. He really likes nicknames. He calls our younger brother, Jonah, ‘JoJo’ all the time. Jonah hates that. But, uh - what was - oh, yeah, I’m Kayden Mae! What’s your name? What year are you in?” she finally finished, a little out of breath but still bright eyed.

Kayden breathed a sigh of relief. He had thought he would be put in Ravenclaw. He possessed book smarts and a quick wit. So when the hat shouted "Gryffindor!" Kayden was surprised, and happy at the same time. At least it wasn't Slytherin. Walking down to the cheering Gryffindor table, he knew that the hat must've seen something in him that he did not. He received slaw on the back from all sides, and he sat beside an attractive looking girl with brown hair. His face flushing slightly, partially from the rush of being chosen, and partially from the fact that he had never sat by a pretty girl before, he stuck out his hand. "Im Kayden Dragoon, nice to meet you." He desperately wanted the table to like him, as his years at Hogwarts would be spent surrounded by these people. His Grandma had always told him to "Kill em with kindness." Taking that advice, Kayden would make sure to be someone that was pleasant to be around. Most peop,e at the table looked estates to be here, and Kayden got caught up in their wild celebrations. They were screaming and hollering each time one would be assigned to Gryffindor. He was gonna like it here.

Kayden Mae turned as someone sat down next to her, grinning brightly. She took his hand, grip loose, and shook it hard. Her eyes widened when he introduced himself. “Wait, your name is Kayden? That’s so cool, so’s mine! I go by Kayden Mae actually - Mae’s my middle name. And uh, my last name is Killian. Kayden Mae Killian! This is so cool though, I’ve never met someone named Kayden before! And I didn’t even know it could be a guy’s name. Are you a first year? Were you expecting to be put into Gryffindor? Red and gold will look good on you, I think. I don’t know if any the other colors would. Oh, maybe blue and black would.”
As she talked, only letting go of his hand about halfway through, she rested a wrist on the table, drumming her fingers restlessly. The moment she did let go of Kayden’s hand, she began a counter rhythm. Another strand of hair escaped, falling just above her eye, and she tucked it firmly behind her ear without missing a beat of her rhythm. Her leg was bouncing too, silently going up and down and up and down under the table. Clearly, Kayden Mae was a girl with never ending energy.

Kayden chuckled softly. This girl clearly had much to say. And it was interesting how they both had the same names. "Thanks for the compliment. I hope the colors look good on me too." Taking a deep breath, he wondered ho much information he should share on the other question. He tok a deep breath, and tried to speak loud enough to beard over the occasional roars, but quiet enough so he wasn't shouting. "Well. To be honest. I didn't know where I was going to be put. I thought for sure I would be a Ravenclaw. I'm more book smart then I am.. Corageous." Kayden shrugged, trying to show that he didn't much care.
"I guess the hat might've seen something in me I didn't." He didn't want to seem arrogant, but he had no idea why he had been put in Gryffindor. "He elbowed her in a friendly manner." At least it isn't Slytherin am I right?" He had heard nasty stories of Slytherins. They were considered the more edgy house at Hogwarts. He wiped his sweaty hands in his robes, and joined in the cheering as another child got sorted into Gryyfrindor. He gave the boy a smile as he walked nearer to the end of the table. "So. Where are you from?" He asked Kayden. (Kayden Mae)

“Ravenclaw would’ve been a cool house, but my mom says they have to answer a riddle to get in every time, and I would hate that. I’m terrible at riddles. I just don’t see the point.” Kayden Mae scowled to show just how strong her dislike was.“Well. To be honest. I didn't know where I was going to be put. I thought for sure I would be a Ravenclaw. I'm more book smart then I am.. Corageous.”
“But, I mean. My mom also says that the Sorting Hat doesn’t sort just based off what traits you have - it also considers what you value, like in the people around you. And if you value a trait, you tend to become that trait, which is where the confusion comes from.” She paused for a second, contemplating. “So, yeah. That’s what the Hat saw in you.” She smiled again.“I guess the hat might've seen something in me I didn't.”
“Oh, well, I don’t know. My brothers say I could’ve been a Slytherin, and I think I would’ve been okay with that. They just have a bad reputation because they’re ambitious,” she answered thoughtfully, shrugging and maintaining that bright smile to show she didn’t care.“At least it isn't Slytherin am I right?”
“Guess,” Kayden answered, eyes sparkling playfully. If anyone were to listen closely, they could probably hear just a little bit of her Irish accent, the way her words had a little bit of a tang to it. She lived in an area where the accent wasn’t prominent, making her accent difficult to pick up without a good ear.“So. Where are you from?”

The Gryffindor Table 2019-2020
Watson, after getting sorted albeit a bit surprised at his placement considering he was expecting Hufflepuff, nervously found his way to the Gryffindor table. He took in the smell of all the foods displayed across the table, as well as looking at the food too. He was very overwhelmed, as he had never seen so much food in his life besides him occasionally going to the grocery store. The smells complicated and confused his nose, but eventually, he was able to single out one smell, particularly of the food he was hoping to get a taste-of. He smelt buttered-bread, steak, chicken-legs and corn.
He let his eyes wander to the drinks, which was just water but that was enough to make him happy. He walked down across the side of the table until he found an empty seat to which he sat. He gave a small look at the others around him, a bit shyly but decided to ignore them as he took a plate. He shoveled the food that he had smelt earlier and grabbed a cup to pour water in. Once he had done so he sat back down to eat. Watson took one more glance around at the great hall, taking in everything. His eyes followed the smooth edges of the walls and moved all the way up to the ceiling. Once he has done this, he was satisfied and had begun eating.

The Gryffindor Table 2019-2020
"Creek...Jacob Creek!" someone called. Oh! I hope they have not been calling my name for too long... he said as he quickly stood up and walked over to the sorting hat mumbling a quiet apology. The hat asked questions and Jacob answered them as carefully as he could. "I am thinking...Gryffindor!" the hat exclaimed. The Gryffindor table erupted in cheer and Jacob walked over to the table, to his table.
Mother would be so proud of me! A Gryffindor! Just like her! I am just glad i was not a Ravenclaw...I am not sure if I could survive having to be "smart". And if I was a Slytherin, I would hate that as well. As much as I like teasing people, I never do it with a bad intent and they are just so...mean. He was not quite sure where to sit, or rather, who to sit with. So he just sat near the end, alone. He picked at his food, not being terribly hungry. He looked around at all the groups of friends. He was excited, imagining when that was going to be him. Having friends to talk with, to run around with, to just be good friends with. He did not know how long it would take for this to happen, but whenever it did, he would be ready. And he would enjoy it.
