At least decision-making became very easy in his situation: Alejandros couldn't see and would need to see again to do anything. But what was easy in his head was less easy with shaky fingers. While he fumbled for the dip in the knot, all he could think of was how to brace himself. Whether it helped with the one-two strike of fire and force, he didn't know. It just hurt.

It was a little easier to get the blindfold off in the seconds after, though. His opponents couldn't cast again so quickly. He dropped the black cloth just behind him and took stock. Harvey was out. Dylan was engulfed in angry green flames and engaged in some sort of dance. Ros was on fire, too, which he thought you were supposed to ignore as a duellist, he just didn't know how. He didn't know why anyone even liked this sport.

Unbeknownst to him, his ears had shrunk a size in the stress of the preceding moments. It wasn't much; if it was, maybe the blindfold would have slipped right off.

Phelan looked at Alejandros in concern. Violette and himself have so far managed to be mostly unharmed throughout the duel but their other teammate was starting to look a little tired, suffering from fire.

Phelan looked at the other team, trying to assess Beauxbatons' chances. Dylan didn't look so hot, but Emmeline was still going strong. Phelan knew it was far from over, and he focused his attention back on the duel.
