Hello everyone,

First, thanks to you all for your warm messages.
I’m here to give you a few updates on my work:

• Future version of the site: I spent the past month immersing myself back into the site’s code, catching up on the advances made possible by browsers (the current version is already ten years old!), and laying the main foundations for the future version. I have settled all the major technical choices, and I’m very confident about the gains in accessibility, speed, robustness, and modularity that this will allow! On the other hand, I’m not satisfied with my first attempts regarding navigation, usability, and certain aesthetic changes. Those are the kinds of things that come with time! It’s hard to tell you how long this work will take, depending on the time, motivation, and inspiration I have, but I think what needs to be done will take us to late 2026 at the earliest and late 2027 at the latest! V3 took me two full years.
• Security, speed, and fighting bots: I spent a lot of time looking at what could already be done to fight the bots that regularly attack the server. I used AI tools (thanks to the supporters) to audit the server and the site’s source code, which allowed me to identify several security flaws and some real avenues for improvement. This is work I’ll continue this summer, alongside the future version (which should itself bring further reductions in the code).
• Thanks to the supporters from the past few weeks, who allowed me to fund a more robust server, better anti-bot protection, and a subscription to Claude AI, which helps me audit the code (even though, in the end, I write everything myself, otherwise where’s the fun?).

I’m travelling very far from home this month, so not much else will happen before June, though I’ll use the opportunity to read up on things and try to find a bit of inspiration in my spare time!
