Baking Workshop
Ben was testing the waters a bit when he lingered the touch with Bloom. It was enough to make his heart just about stop. She didn't pull away instantly which gave him a tinge of hope. He considered it false hope still but it was something. It was hard to remember that she left him after he pushed her away. Why would a tender moment in baking class make a difference? It just wouldn't. These thoughts are why when Bloom said that she missed him, he didn't hear it very well. He did not even believe that is what she said.Interacting with Bawoom
"What was that?" He asked as his hand moved away again, leaving her with the measuring cup. "Sorry, I guess it is a bit loud in here or I lost my hearing..."
There just wasn't enough for Ben to feel comfortable making any sort of leap back to Bloom. He was afraid she would deny him and he'd be a fool. These signs could be nothing but his imagination trying to draw him back to her. He had to respect that it was over and they'd be friends only, if that. She was being nice now but she was nice all the time. It was just how she was. A sweet, kind, and fun girl who made every single day with her special. Someone he had missed when she was away. Someone he looked forward to seeing at every opportunity. A girl who he would give everything to, even space to keep her safe.
"Mine is ready! Is everything melted?" Sounding chipper suddenly felt so fake.

[font=Bodoni Monotype]Another boy had entered the tent. Aurelia’s left cheek lifted slightly creating a subtle almost unnoticeable cringe when she saw the boy approach a Gryffindor girl. Being a writer for the gryffgazette, especially when she was in charge of the gossip section, Aurelia always caught up with the rumours. The boy was none than Ben Eckenrode, the boy under the mask. Bloom was his Girlfriend. Was. It was clear that both of them hadn’t gotten over their separation.
No matter what the professors said about Ben and how he was innocent, she didn’t believe them. Ben was still a dangerous twelve year old to Aurelia. Thankfully, she and Howie were a couple of tables away from him, that meant that if he planned something sketchy, they’d be one of the last to get affected. Also, there were a few professors already in the tent if anything were to happen. Perhaps she was just being a bit paranoid, but she couldn’t help it, with all the things she heard from the interviews, it was better to keep her distance.
Howie then explained Rosie’s situation. Aurelia could hear the sadness in the boy’s words. It must have been hard for both the Hufflepuffs not being able to see each other. Howie also mentioned about the lock in. Aurelia let out a soft exasperated sigh, the lock in didn’t go well for the girl too, no thanks to the crazy professor Lear. He had put a few students in coffins and some in heels. Anatole has tried to rid off the heels with incendio, he successfully got the shoes of but also gotten a few around him burnt. Rosie was one of them, Aurelia was too, she still had the burn scar peeking from her collar at the name of her neck.
Aurelia turned her head in the Hufflepuffs direction intending to tell him that she was sorry for him but found herself looking back down on the table when she remembered about his blue eyes. It was almost impossible get herself to at least face him, it couldn’t continue like that. Someday, Aurelia would face her fear and overcome it. That was a promise. Someday.
Sheets of paper containing the recipes were passed out. Howie grabbed one of them and placed it on the table. The steps and ingredients used were slightly different from her mother’s recipe, but it would do. Aurelia reached out for the bag of brown sugar and the measuring cup. With her non-dominant hand, the one that wasn’t in a bandaged, she carefully lifted the bag up from its bottom the pour the contents into the cup. 100 grams it was supposed to be, but it wasn’t as easy to do with a hand that she didn’t use very often. It took a lot of concentration.
Aurelia pressed her two lips together into a thin line when Howie asked if she was uncomfortable with his presence. His presence wasn’t but his eyes were. Those icy blue eyes, the colour of her Brother’s. A Brother she’d never see again. Aurelia believed he had becomes a ghost to haunt her with every blue eyed, to constantly remind her of what she had done. But how was she to explain this to Howie. She could lie, it was the easiest thing to make a route around the sensitive questions.
The girl’s lips parted slightly to answer but she was inturupted when Howie continued. Potion? Hurt? Abandoned toilets? Aurelia blinked confused, as she put down the sugar. ‘I didn’t mean to hurt you’ What? Why? How? Aurelia grumbled internally, as she racked her brain to recall the incident but because of the damn forgetfulness potion, she couldn’t find any. She was curious, so curious about how the incident went. Howie apparently knew.
“What do you mean Howie?” Aurelia said the words as calmly as possible. Though it would most likely be misunderstood as sarcastic or worse, trying to mock him. However, the twelve year old couldn’t find any better way to ask. She poured the butter, sugar and honey into the pan. Aurelia didn’t like fire because of the damn lock in. She still had a grudge on Anatole, thankfully he was gone. She stepped back, hoping that Howie would do the deed.

His hand had slipped away from hers. Bloom, who had thought she was giving him a clear answer that she wanted him back with her felt low when he took his hand back, not reciprocating the gesture. Even worse, Ben did not even hear her when she said that she missed him. He probably ignored it. What am I doing?... she thought to herself.Interaction: Ben-Ben EckenRUDE

"Oh-- It was nothing," she said fairly quickly.
There was no way Ben was coming back to her. Perhaps it was best to move on; no matter how difficult that may be. She was just going to ignore her feelings and hide them away. What was the point in coming back to someone who mutually pushed each other away? He did not want her to get hurt from his mask-like ways, and she broke up with him.
Taking a deep breath, Bloom looked at the cauldron. She only had honey and butter. She needed to put in the brown sugar. "Hold on, one more ingredient." Bloom grabbed a cup and poured the brown sugar into it, spilling all over the table, and poured it into the cauldron. She then took a wooden spoon and mixed a little.
"There, it's ready," she said, looking at Ben to see what he would do next. She had no idea what was next, but she was willing to watch him do it. For the first time during this event, she wanted it to be over. She wanted to leave and go to her bed. Deep down, she felt like crying. But she needed to hold it in. She needed to be strong.
While she was waiting for Ben to do most of the baking, Bloom looked around the tent. She couldn't help but to see a Gryffindor looking in their direction. She had never met her before, but she knew that she was a second year. Bloom wondered why she would look over. She then looked at Ben and realized that it was probably because of the news that went out that he was the boy in the mask. She wondered how many other people would look at him that way. She also wondered how Ben was taking it. She looked at the boy's ruffled hair and could not help but to want to be there for him.
No, he wants me away and that is what he will have. I tried to show him I wanted to be with him again and he doesn't want to be with me. So I'll stay away after this event, she promised herself.

Baking was one of Ami's few skills that she sometimes forgot she had more knowledge of than your average student. Actually, anything to do with the kitchen and its equipment sort of fell right up her alley- vegans tended to know how to get pretty creative with their food, and she had to take such measures as her father began to leave her at home alone more frequently and for longer periods of time. She had caught wind of the Baking Workshop, so of course, she would have to go.Interactions: Elijah Huang

But she couldn't go alone! No, that was like walking into prom alone- only desperate people did that. Thus, she had convinced her two closest buddies, Scott and Amadea, to come down to the Baking Workshop with her. Scott had insisted they drag along some rando Slytherin first year, not that she minded- much. But, she did mind when people were late, and right now, both Scott and Amadea were late.
Shuffling into the tent, she spotted a lonely looking Slytherin standing off to the side by himself. Smiling wryly to himself, she decided that he must've been their mysterious fourth person. "Hey, you!" She beckoned to the first year and crossed the tent to join him at their table. "I'm Ami- Scott's friend. He should be coming down at any moment, now- and Amadea's probably en route right now."
Yes, it had been rude of her to leave her poor Hufflepuff friend in the common room, but she hated being late for things, so she did what she had to do. She was sure that her fellow redhead would join them soon- but for now, she and the Slyther-shrimp could get to work, following the instructions that Professor Pendrast had left them.
"Ready to get started?" she asked, rolling up her sleeves as she glanced at the list and the cauldron in front of them.

Arthur looked over his shoulder to where Bloom waso indicating, song the green and silver clad girl in the doorway. He didn't notice her come in so he was glad the other girl had spotted her.
"Oh, sure! That's sounds fun," he said to Blooms suggestion ofa friendly competition. He slid over to the next work station, and waved to the girl, trying to catch her eye. He tried not to worry about the fact that she was clearly a Slytherin, and he was raised by a muggle, reminding himself that not all of them card about that kind of stuff. Anyway, it seemed like groups of three or more were allowed too, so hopefully if someone else needed a partner they could jump in as well.
Hoping she would come and join him, Arthur picked up the recipe and started working. He'd cooked a lot growing up, usually just simple things. But at a glance it didn't seem like there was anything that would give him too much of an issue. Putting the sugar, butter, and honey in a pan he started to heat it, glazing back occasionally to see how Bloom and Ben were going along.
He hadn't said anything at the time, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he might've met Ben somewhere before, at least the name sounded familiar... Then suddenly it struck him. Ben Eckenrode. That was the name on all the posters. He glanced back at the two Ravenclaws, shyly interacting at they joked back and forth. He sure didn't seem like much of a super villain.

Pre-selected group: Ami Procoppio, Scott Alexander, and Elijah HuangAmadea was running late. It shouldn't be a surprise. By now, it was about a month into the year and everyone was still finally settling into the whole schedule of Hogwarts. Unfortunately, Amadea's new habit was being late to everything. The only thing she had managed to get to on time was her classes (most of the time). She was arriving at all of these events late, or at least not as early as she wanted to be.
As Amadea hurried down to the grounds, she noticed that there were already people milling around and the baking workshop was already set up. Thankfully, it seemed as though there weren't too many people already there. Maybe Amadea wasn't as late as she thought she was. Amadea had made plans with Ami to be a part of her team. According to her Hufflepuff friend, there would also be some of Ami's other friends there as well. When Ami had left the common room a few minutes earlier, Amadea had completely forgotten to ask about the rest of the team.
Amadea scanned the grounds, noticing that everyone was starting to make teams and begin their baking. Crap, she thought. She really hadn't intended to be this late. She just couldn't get herself out of the common room in time. Finally spotting her redheaded friend with a group of other boys, Amadea headed over.
She recognized Elijah from the butterbeer tasting event. Amadea wasn't exactly sure how to feel about him. She thought he was nice, obviously, but she couldn't shake the feeling that he secretly hated her and was only putting up with her to be polite. She hoped she was wrong, though. After all, they were all in a group together.
"Hello everyone!" Amadea said as she reached the group. "I'm so sorry I'm late!" Amadea looked around at everyone baking. It appeared as though she had missed the instructions as well. Hopefully the rest of her team knew what they were doing. "What are we doing?" she asked.

Hugh had absolutely no clue what was going on. Well of course he knew what was exactly happening in this tent. But he had no idea where to go, where he could go. Could he stand here? or was he supposed to stay more behind? Did they all plan on bringing a partner? The questions seemed to pour into the boy's mind like water from an open dam.Location: In the back of the Baking Workshop

His feet shuffled him a bit forward. Step by step he tried to take in the scenery as carefully as possible. Hands in his pockets, he smirked a bit at every person that nodded towards his existence. At least he didn't seem invisible. Pure logic really, as the boy had usually stood out by his sheer length alone. Yet he was not baking, even though that seemed the point in here. He frowned as he passed by one of the tables. His eyes eventually got drawn to the board in front and read: "Lebkuchen". The boy seemed puzzled as he merely tried to place the word somewhere in his mental dictionary.
All there was left to do now was wait. She told him to come and see and here he was. Apparently she had helped set this up or something, or so he gathered. Looking at the whole place bursting with life and all the smiley faces, he could tell she did a great job. With his hands safely in his pockets he stood somewhere in the back, trying to see how the others gave their best shot at baking Lebkuchen.
By anything else other than shame, he wasn't going to die of starvation at the very least.

Anton watched Ms. Jensen quietly as she started to dish out the ingredients. He glanced at the recipe while she was busy, and busied himself elsewhere. Okay, in reality, he was just gathering the next ingredients. Baking powder, cocoa powder and… he glanced at the spices. Then, of course, he glanced at Ms. Jensen. Which one of these would Nora like? No, he didn’t have to ask. He chuckled under his breath at his thoughts as he gathered them. He knew what she preferred; cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom were some of her favorites. She didn’t like star anise… he held up the container anyways, “You want some star anise in your cookies, right?” he asked with a relatively serious face. Of course, it was obvious he was playing - the tug of a smirk followed the lines of his lips, and his eyes twinkled just a little.interactions: Nora Jensen closed
“But to answer your question, no. You don’t look like you speak German. At this rate, I’d suggest you learn some. Apparently, if students are going to assume you know any other languages, it’d be a basic courtesy,” Anton pointed out with a gentle shrug of his shoulders. He set the baking soda and cocoa powder down near her, before going back to the spices. He chose the other ones she’d like, too; allspice and ginger were added to the roster alongside the cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom. And, because it was a joint effort, he chose coriander; there wasn’t anything wrong with trying new things, new flavors, new mixes.
As a potion master, as an alchemist, he was used to trying new things.
He set the spices down next to the other ingredients for the next spot, and took up the butter. He tipped it carefully into the cauldron, and watched as it slid down the material of the potion equipment. He pondered when - or who - took these cauldrons if they were from the potion store room. He’d let it slide for now. Either way, he glanced back towards Nora.
“If you want to start the next part, I can finish with this mixture,” he said smoothly. He took the brown sugar and the honey and poured them both into the cauldron, allowing them to settle in the still semi-solid chunk of butter. He’d mix when the butter was a little more malleable. He picked up a wooden spoon and rose an eyebrow at her, “Unless you don’t want to get powder under your nails. We can always switch jobs again,” he teased.

Devina stood, looking around the room for someone to approach her. She didn't mind working alone, though, she preferred to work with a partner. Just then, Devina spotted a boy waving in her direction. Unsure of whether he was waving to her, she looked around her. Since there was no one around her, she began walking over to her peer. She assumed he wasn't a Slytherin, as she had never seen him around the common room before. "I wonder what house he is in." She didn't actually care about what house he was in; she was just curious.
Approaching the table he was stationed at, Devina gave her usual wide smile. She could see that he had already begun working, so she jumped in to help. Rolling up her sleeves, she reached for the next ingredient, flour, and the scale. She started a conversation with her new partner, "Hey there, I'm Devina. Happy to meet you," she measured out the flour and added it to a mixing bowl. "Isn't this just so fun!"
He seemed to be focused on the group next to them. Devina was curious as to why but continued to prepare the pastry. "Oh and I'm a Slytherin, but I assure you, I am very friendly. I don't bite. Well sometimes." She gave a little giggle at her joke. Was it actually funny, though? To her, it was.
Looking back at the joke, it could be interpreted in a weird way. I did not mean it in that way, so just don't think of it that way

Anastasia wasn't sure why she had agreed to help with this. Alright, maybe she had been trying to be helpful. She was still adjusting to being a Prefect and wanted to be as helpful as she could, so that was probably what she'd been thinking. Still, there was one slight problem - Anastasia Beckett had no idea how to bake. Like no idea. At all. The closest she'd ever come was watching her mother bake once and stealing cookie dough. Beyond that, she couldn't even remember even being in a kitchen.Location - Back of the Baking Tent

She shook her slight panic aside. They weren't baking yet, and who knew? Maybe she would be naturally excellent at it. That was wishful thinking, but surely it wouldn't be half as bad as she imagined. Right?
Anastasia weaved throughout the tent, making sure that everyone had partners and nobody had any questions yet. Not that she would really be the person to answer literally any baking questions, but she had to keep up the appearance. She had reached the back of the tent when she realized that she didn't actually have a partner. Oops!
She scanned the crowd for familiar faces and made a beeline for the first person she recognized. Hugh Lowe. He looked a bit lost, which comforted her in a strange way. At least she wasn't the only one who was semi or mostly clueless. "Hugh!" she said as she reached him. "Want to be partners?"
Long story short, I survived
