In a way, yes. I’ve played a little flute since my sister forced me to play her old one. 
Being a sax player as having no clue how to play a flute, I suck at it. I do remember that playing it is a mixture of not only blowing straight across, but always bending the air to go a little into the flute. It’s weird to describe as someone who doesn’t actually play it, but that’s how it felt for me when I tried it once.
