2. There is still a 200 word minimum for all posts.
3. Trunks won't be locked as this is an unofficial duel.

The last round was always a heated one, both sides trying to get out their last spells in time to secure their victory hoping that they'd done enough to get their team the win.

This one was different though, as Mylo knew the two duellists in front of him were friends and apparently Sere had decided that enough was enough and seeing her friend aflame wasn't a good sight. Emily either didn't see or recognise the hand movements Sere was making, or more likely dodging was so ingrained in her system at this point during a duel, as she easily dodged the extinguo spell that Sere had - albeit badly - aimed at her friend to try and quench the flames before she'd take more damage from them.

Emily on the other hand aimed a familiar flame at Sere, probably trying to give her a taste of her own spell. However it seemed like something went wrong during the casting and it backfired badly, the flames of her incendio duo only adding to the ones already there. It didn't look good, although Emily was still standing Mylo could see she was barely hanging on. Signalling the end of the duel Mylo immediately got out his wand to get rid of the flames surrounding her, wanting to get her to the infirmary as soon as possible.

"Well, I think that was a very good duel, although your dodging skills at the end might have been more useful earlier on" he joked. Hoping that it would land as it had come out more as a reflex to the situation than something they'd consciously thought about. "Congrats on your win Sere, now let's get both of you to the infirmary." He stated, hoping that neither duellists would protest.

The final round arrived and Sere chose her actions thoughtfully. She observed Emily's condition at the moment. The girl looked tired, her stamina seemed drained, but Sere somehow had a confidence that the Hufflepuff wouldn't go unconscious just because of a Flipendo or an Incendio. Emily would surely extinguish the flames at the hem of her robes in this round, right? Those flames were hot and annoying.

Sere almost decided to cast an offensive spell as her final action, but the incident of her being passed out in the Hospital Wing flashed through her memory. Oh, no! She certainly didn't want Emily to experience the same thing. "Extinguo!" She threw the Extinguishing Charm instead of one of those offensives. It didn't matter if Emily casted a similar spell to herself; there wouldn't be any significant loss. Sere had already secured her victory; there was no need to knock out her practice buddy. The Gryffindor glanced at Mylo, it would also be difficult for the moderator if someone ended up knocked out in an unofficial duel. She had carefully considered everything and wouldn't regret this action...

...until Emily dodged the spell.

Well, that part wasn't a serious matter, but what was surprising afterwards was that the fire spell from the tip of the girl's wand went back on herself, "No, no, no!" Sere exclaimed, covering her mouth. Why did you choose that spell?! Her eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you okay?!" Her tone clearly showed a huge amount of worry. She frowned as she looked at the moderator, asking for a confirmation. This was the greatest panic she had ever felt during her Hogwarts life.

Mylo swiftly extinguished the fire, and Sere could see that Emily still had some stamina left. Sere immediately tucked her wand under her robes, ran towards the Hufflepuff, and shouted, "Thank God! Hospital Wing, now! C'mon!" Sere wouldn't take a 'no'. Her hands grasped Emily's right arm, dragged her along. She wasn't the pushy type, but right now she was both too relieved and too worried.

"Thank you for moderating our duel, Mylo. ​​I'll take her to the infirmary now." Sere gave a small nod, "See you when I see you."

Final round. Emily knew well before even halfway of her and Sere's little game that she had lost. Still, the least she could do to maintain some dignity and finish while still being planted firmly on her feet.

Oooh such a silly request when on the piste.

After nimbly dodging a spell, Emily went for one last spell. One more successful hit and she would be happy enough.

But in the world of duelling, "successful casting" was nothing more than a shallow dream. For Emily at least. Spells seemed to work out in everyone else's favour just fine somehow!

An attempt at the fire-making spell had Emily engulfed in flames in no time. She felt her skin singe and scorch before the they finally died down. Emily stood defeated and burnt out - very literally as well as metaphorically - until she eventually toppled over and collapsed onto the piste in an unceremonious thud.

Practice duel, my rear.

Emily heard Sere rush over, her entire demeanour drenched in concern. Emily's eyes blinked at different rates, completely tired and totally done with all of this.

"Yup. Real sodding peachy".

Sere was already hoisting Emily up off the ground and gunning it for the Infirmary. Every small movement made Emily groan in pain. She was appreciative of the gesture however. No amount of sore losing and rage at her incapable wand could ever overshadow her gratefulness to Sere willing to help her.

"Just take it easy on the old arm there, Sere..."

She gave a weak wave to Mylo as Sere escorted her out of the room. Emily's expression was dark, stewed in a bad mood.

Screw duelling.
