Date : November 28th, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said The final round, Tracey successfully cast Rictusempra and Maisie with all her efforts tried to avoid the Tickling Charm. Unfortunately this time Maisie was unable to completely avoid that spell. She would feel a slight ticklish sensation in some parts of her body, but if she wanted to, she could still hold back her laughter. Maisie herself, in her complicated situation, tried to target the Flipendo that she had just successfully cast accurately. The same situation happened when Tracey tried to avoid, but could not fully avoid The Knockback Jinx. She was knocked backwards in only a short distance.
Seeing the condition of each duellist on the piste in this final round, Sere could be sure of one thing, "Alright, hold your wands! The match is over! Tracey Bailey is the winner!" Sere nodded respectfully to Tracey and gave her two thumbs up. The Gryffindor girl then took out her wand from under her robe, pointed it at the rain cloud above Maisie, and casted, "Metelojinx Recanto." WDC 10, d20[9] + 8 = 17, success! She then pointed her wand at the Ravenclaw first-year and casted, "Finite Incantatem." WDC 9, d20[18] + 8 = 26, success! After 'cleaned' everything up, Sere gave Maisie a little smile from afar, "You did a great job." She said it to Maisie with no sound, only moving her lips in the pattern of the sentence.
Sere cleared her throat, "That was a quiet insightful dueling practice. Thank you for inviting me. It was such a fun new experience." The British-Korean girl ended her words with, "I suggest you guys to get some rest or go to the Hospital Wings if you feel the need." Sere put her wand back under her robe and carried her satchel, "After you both," Her hand was inviting, gesturing that she would leave the piste after the two Ravenclaws.
Sere left the thread.

"Alright, hold your wands! The match is over!"
It got very hazy before Sere said those words. At first she'd seen Tracey's spell shoot out of her wand an in her direction. Once again, she'd tried to move swiftly out of the way, but the spell just barely caught her.
And that's when the laughter started.
It started slowly, which was perhaps why she was still able to send through a Flipendo in Tracey's direction. Her aim was good, but Tracey similarly managed to get out of the way mostly. It wasn't hard really when the laughter echoed through the room like an audible beacon signaling the next spell.
Even as the tickling and associated laughter started overtaking her, things were still ok. They were still keeping pace.
Until the lightning.
Maisie looked up and those clouds were full of storms. A nervous giggle erupted from her petite form. And like the last time, there was nowhere to go, no way to running away from this cloud that had been ominously hovering over her round after round. She swallowed and gripped the still softened wand in her hand.
The lightning barrelled down into her chest. A scream cut through the laughter. Hairs stood on end. Her vision flashed white.
And it was over.
Truly.
After a few seconds, Maisie blinked. She was still standing. In between the giggles, a new sensation came over her: pride. She'd managed to survive her very first duel, official or not, despite the difference in both age and experience. And as Sere extinguished the raincloud and offered her silent praise, Maisie nodded and walked right up to Tracey to extend a hand to shake. "Congrats," she said between the giggles, "That was so cool! I'm sure you'll be ready for your next duel. You know plenty of neat spells!" Because Tracey was good at this. Maybe she just needed a little confidence. Maisie, on the other hand, was thrilled with it all had gone. And maybe one day—when she'd stopped laughing—they could meet up here again for another round—maybe even as allies.
