Basil hoped that he didn't have to leave his seat until later in the match. The match seemed to be going very smoothly so far so it didn't look like he would have to be standing up anytime soon. He didn't really like going up there, it was too much attention on himself. But it turns out he had thought too soon. He watched as one of the beaters on his team was hit with a bludger and off his broom. Basil took a deep breath and clutched his broom. He hadn't wanted to get up on his broom so early in the game! His legs were like jello and he was bitting his lip so hard he was suprised it wasn't bleeding. He shakily kicked off from the ground and flew into the air. He held his beater bat up and looked around the arena for the pesky bludgers he had to hit. Why did I agree to this again? Basil wondered. Basil leaned forward on his broom and raised his bat as he saw a bludger streaking towards him. I really hope I am cut out for this! Basil thought, taking a swing at the bludger nearest to him.

Sometimes, it’s nice to just sit on the bench, being safe and sound until your time to play while watching your team enter and play in the warzone that is the Quidditch Pitch. She could see almost everything that’s going on and the announcements from their referee makes it easier to follow.

Their Chaser who was going for the Quaffle is doing a great job, she might not actually have any chance to try out playing in the field if she keeps going like that. She scored despite the effort from the opposing Chaser and Keeper and managed to keep the Quaffle in her hands most of the time. Gotta hand it to their team’s Keeper too for blocking that singular goal attempt from their opponent.

It wasn’t that long until the Beaters, specifically, Daniel, caught her attention. He can swing that bat, that’s for sure, sending one of their opponent’s Chaser off of their broom with one single hit. Perhaps he did not disappoint her when he told her to watch him earlier. She would’ve cheered for him but that’s not something Haru would do (She doesn’t know how cheering works or shows it). Unfortunately, one of their Beaters, probably the strongest looking one of them all, was knocked out as well.

Things aren’t looking that grim for them at least, if you ignore the fact that their Seeker is still looking for the snitch from what it seems but the same goes to the other one. If she was the one playing, would she have spotted it? Maybe not. The snitch can be tricky to spot after all.

It seemed the games were off to a flying start - pun intended, but such humor did not manifest well within his own team's endeavors in the match. In what felt as a matter of mere minutes from the host's commencement of the unofficial Quidditch game, two of the 1st string chasers on his team would be hastily thwarted in their efforts for the quaffle and hurled from brooms. Such perilous attacks manifested as both a blessing and a curse for the young Haitian boy, who was not only grounded from broom activities but had fibbed to his mother to get the opportunity to participate in the game despite his punishment.

His sneaking out at the beginning of the summer was sourly greeted with harsh punishment, although the eldest Toussaint progeny's petty endeavor did not match the severity of his arranged sentence. This, however, was nothing new to Alphonse, who appeared to wear unruliness and fondness of mischief like a mask. As always, his mother danced upon dramatics, and no amount of kind words and pleas would cease his wrathful mother from arranging his doom by coercing him to toil the summer away anyway. At summer camp, of all places!

It was only a matter of time before his mother took notice of her eldest son taking to the skies against her direct commands against such, but the Haitian boy would tolerate the consequences of his actions later. He had quaffles to nab and points to secure.

Dori was rarely late, but sometimes it couldn't be helped. Especially when there was a sleeping cat on their broom. Buttons could sleep literally anywhere, and today his prime sleeping location was their prized Silver Arrow. It wasn't like he growled at them or anything, but they just felt so bad taking it. It took far longer than they'd like to admit moving him off of the broom and racing out of the door. Luckily, the camp took place in the stadium so it didn't take long for them to arrive- but they still were late, the competition already taking place.

They skidded into a place next to Evelynn, one of the only people down on the ground that Dorion knew. Actually, she was the only person that Dorion knew that wasn't in the sky. "Evelynn, hi! I think we're on opposite teams. But not like we're competing yet. I mean- we are, but we're not.. up there. Anyway." They looked over to the person that had been gracious enough to run this. "And hey, thank you for running this. Not to interrupt- your very good moderating. Man, people are already knocked off? That's rough." They gazed at the field, trying to assess how far the game had gone. Only two were out, luckily, and both seekers were in the air which was nice. This wasn't a complete disaster, yet.

Still, Dori was trying to ignore the stress building up in their spine as they watched the game. Hopefully, no broken bones this time. Or broken friendships. Or broken bonds. Or- anything... broken. Yeah, nothing broken would be a great outcome.

The game began and Ehsilat didn't really know what she was doing- she's been floating around the quidditch field a bit awkwardly while watching everyone else get on with it.
She severely preferred duelling to quidditch, but she really wanted to do something different (and was really curious to find what all the hype was about, I mean, what's so good about watching a bunch of random people play with a bunch of balls?). Not to mention, duelling was a lot more civilised.
Ehsilat watched absent mindedly as a girl from her team scored them 20 points. She didn't know her, but what does it matter? She doesn't really know anyone here, they were winning and that's all that really mattered. Even if she wasn't as into the game as everyone else might be, she still wanted to win.
She watched as Brooke (her friend) was diligently searching for the snitch, as well as the other team's seeker, Prat (who was in fact also her friend).
It's a terrible situation when both your friends are on different teams, who do you cheer for?
Ehsilat sighed, she was terribly bored and didn't know what to do, 'Maybe I can move closer and get more involved in the game?'
Though the only thing she really knows about her job is that she's supposed to score goals.
She maneuvered her broom skillfully, attempting to get closer into the pitch 'Hopefully something good happens'

It seemed that, now, this little Quidditch Scrimmage was in full speed. Everyone had a place to be and knew what to do, and if Cyrus were honest, he had to admire it. As much as he was slightly averse to broom sports, there was something about such veritable teamwork that simply warmed his heart.



The Quaffling (he would make that a word, most definitely) players were few: only Alphonse and Acacia seemed to care about the Quaffle. Even the Keepers had since given up on goalkeeping, which was their only job. Interesting. Cyrus wondered if they had nefarious deeds planned, or if they were just tired of blocking.

Just because it was only two people going for the Quaffle did not mean that those two people were not going to be able to score. It was the opposite, in fact! Cyrus leaned forward with wide eyes to see Alphonse make the first score of the round. 'Ooooooh, 10 points to Team 1!'

Acacia followed shortly after, scoring not one, but two goals for Team 2. 'That was really impressive!' Cyrus shouted into his megaphone. '20 points to Team 2!'

Acacia would continue to control the Quaffle. '10 Points for Team 2! 10 more points, wow!'

However, it was not all a loss for Team 1. Alphonse snatched the Quaffle away from Acacia at the end and scored a mighty ten points for his own team. 'Oooooh, awesome steal! 10 points to Team 1!'





The Snitch continued to flutter around rudely, almost purposefully avoiding the watchful gaze of both teams' Seekers. The golden orb deftly manoeuvred around what seemed to be thin air. Prat and Brookline would have no luck at all in locating the thing.





Once again, the legal brutality of the bludgers brought a shock to Cyrus's system. He stared in horror as Team 2 targeted Alphonse, a kid who was much younger, by the looks of it, than Daniel, the older Beater, and he gazed worriedly as Daniel, with all his might, shot a bludger at the poor boy.

It hit him squarely, and he fell, unconscious.

Basil, the younger beater on Team 2, tried a backbeat, a manoeuvre that Cyrus had to say he didn't see too often. The iron ball hit Aston, and the boy toppled off of his broom.


Maybe with the beaters dropping like flies, people decided to play a dirty game. Cyrus supposed he couldn't really blame them, and honestly, as a referee, it was a lot nicer to see people simply get shoved off of their brooms rather than bludgeoned with an iron ball. Not that it was nice to see people fall towards the ground below, but...

He watched as Miharu took Renelle's place and blatched Irina, while Ehsilat managed to blatch Promise. Elias, however wasn't so lucky; Daniel remained firmly on his broom.

'Miharu, Ehsilat, Elias, penalty laps, c'mon guys, haven't we had enough violence today? A small pause. Then, 'Thanks for not bludgering them, though.'

He waved his wand at the prone, falling figures of Aston and Irina. 'Arresto Momentum,' he incanted. Their fall slowed, hopefully enough for those below to assist. He hoped Decipio would slow down Promise's and Alphonse's falls as well.

- Seeking Victory -

Both keepers were elsewhere on the field doing other things that better be important for her team, so the pressure was on to score enough goals to make sure that the other chasers didn't even think about getting close to the quaffle. The other chaser had a familiar face, one she had seen around the halls of castelobruxo. That didn't mean she would be going easy on him though. All school loyalty rules were off when you got into the air. He was the first to snatch the quaffle, and got a goal in before she could successfully snatch it off him. Dammit. This was not a good start. In a move driven by desperation, she grabbed the quaffle from his hands and raced as fast as her broom could go towards the hoops. Slamming the ball through them not once but twice, she let out a wild cheer of pure joy.

That had to be one of the best goals she had ever scored. Or the best two rather. She continued her winning streak with another goal, and another. It was then rudely interrupted by the other chaser dude, who managed to slip past her guard and get another goal in. Sure the goals she had scored had been good, but she had let two through. That was two too many. She didn't have any excuses for it, they were both the same year (as far as she knew) and she hadn't been dodging any bludgers while trying to score or anything. Speaking of bludgers, where were they? She leaned out of the way when she was one speeding towards the chaser she had just been fighting over the quaffle with.

It was a perfect... whack? Beat? Whatever you would call hitting a bludger at something. He went tumbling off his broom, which was one less obstacle for her with scoring. Her teams other beater sent a bludger flying to that beater kid from before, knocking him off his broom as well. As far as the bludgers went, that had gone perfectly. She made a mental note to congratulate the teams beaters once the game was won. That chaser she had been competing against before [Elias] had apparently seen Daniel's success and decided that he was a threat. Thankfully, Daniel dodged out of the way with room to spare and the boy got sent on a penalty lap. Hah. One of her fellow chasers also went in for a blatch, and though it came down to who was stronger in the end, she managed to successfully knock the other girl off her broom. This game just got better and better. A penalty lap was a small price to pay for the fact that the other team was almost all out of beaters. The other teams keeper was the next victim, knocked off by another clever blatch. They really were dropping like flies. She sort of wished she was out there blatching people as well, but someone had to score some goals (which she wasn't complaining about at all).
