Ariam was slightly disappointed by how he didn't get a response, they were even under the mistletoe. Oh well, time to move on. Ariam liked how their coat swayed from the movement of the dance, and they continued to dance, occasionally cross paths with Acacia but never enough for a conversation.
The song soon stopped and Ariam was happy to find themselves under a candle, It would be weird if I was under the mistletoe twice in a row. Once again they weren't with someone they know, it seems Ariam will have to repeat the same thing they have done the whole dance, make small talk. Oh it's her! Ariam realised that they do recognise her, it was the girl that was under the wax dripping candle with Prat. Ariam couldn't see any wax on her clothes. "Hi, you're the one that ended up under that wax dripping candle last round weren't you? Glad to see your clothes are still all good, tt's a nice dress, yellow suits you." Thinking of the bad candles Ariam started to hope that they will not be under one of those, this is their favourite coat it can't be ruined! The mistletoe they can deal with, worse comes to worse they just kiss someone, but they don't know how to fix a coat.

Acacia turned to reply to Danielle just before the music began again. "Camps been decent actually. I was just here for the quidditch, but for once it looks like Hogwarts isn't living up to its reputation of weird shit happening at balls" she said "The only bad bit here is the snow". There wasn't much time to stick around and talk though, as partner switching happened frequently in this dance. It was kind of hard to keep track of where anyone was with all this twirling.
She was starting to love this style of dancing though. It would have been so much more fun if she had learnt it herself rather than being whisked around by some spell, but it was still fun all the same. Feeling like she was in a Disney movie, she waved at Ariam as she passed them by. Hopefully they were having a good night. As she twirled her way through the crowd, she quickly lost sight of them. Ah well, they could always catch up back at the tent later. For now, there was dancing to be done. And dance she did. This was turning out to be the (second- the quidditch games she had played always came first) best part of camp by far. Surprisingly lacking in danger for a Hogwarts event as well. Not that she had attended one before. Maybe next year she would have to give one a try.
Soon though, the music slowed once again and she found herself with a new dance partner. This time under the mistletoe, weird tradition it was. She had long dark brown hair that was far less messy than Acacia's. One of the perks of not having absolutely wild curly hair, though she wouldn't trade it for anything. Still. Sometimes mornings were certainly interesting, especially right after she had taken a shower. Turning her attention back to the girl, she gave a small smile. "Enjoying camp so far? she asked. This had to be at least the third time she had introduced herself to someone in one night, though that wasn't exactly bad. She was far from shy after all. "Besides all this snow, Hogwarts seems to have organised a half-decent dance" she said "I'm Acacia".
Quite a few students seemed to have come to the event not knowing it was spin the bottle style (or just came anyway for the dancing, which was understandable at least) so she was just going to see how the other girl reacted. She brushed aside a strand of hair that had escaped her ponytail and waited.

Another Quiet Yet Comfortably Quaint Dance with Ariam Vargas @Aston Beckett
Speech: #cfa120
Thoughts: Italics
Well... That last interaction was... Silent. And slightly disappointing. Emily felt a bit rejected after being ghosted by her last partner. However the dance was still chugging along and she had no time to sulk over the fact that she couldn't so much as achieve a handshake. There was no doubt she would get the chance to do so with another partner.
With music revamping in the background Emily was dancing alongside the rest of the group - she had lost count by now of how often the music was stopping and starting. In a strange and sudden train of thought, she compared it to musical chairs... Except whenever the music stopped and chairs vanishing to out people, it was a lottery to see who would be befallen with the mischievous mistletoe above their heads.
In another break off from the group, Emily was partnered with an individual she couldn't recall attending Hogwarts. And under the candle this time. Excellent. That should reduce the awkwardness in any small talk between the two of them rather than bone-dry silence under the mistletoe.
"Hi, you're the one that ended up under that wax dripping candle last round weren't you? Glad to see your clothes are still all good, it's a nice dress, yellow suits you."
Emily perked up. Huzzah! A conversation! Though flattery and compliments were still something she was learning to appreciate for herself. She was neither vain nor self-depreciative, but there was something about being praised for how she looked that made her feel a bit off about herself. Though she wasn't going to shut her new acquaintance down for being nice.
"H-Heh! Thank you...! I must say that your suit is quite a statement. In a good way of course! It suits you perfectly!" Emily knew nothing about fashion - a far cry from her mother, who was a fashion designer... Maybe if she was home more often she could teach Emily a thing or two about style - even though Emily was already fond of her own.
But all she knew was that her partner was looking great. Simple words for a sweet thought.

Next Saturday, August 17, I will do one last moderation for any spells/actions that have been cast in this round, and that will be the end of moderations for this event, though you are welcome to continue RPing in this thread following that.

If you have not posted in the last three rounds of the Spin, you have been removed from the event and were not matched with a partner for this final round. You are welcome to continue RPing as if you have been here, but you have simply been dancing on your own.

Finally the thing Prat had been wishing for happened to him. He was finally under the mistletoe, alas it wasn't with who he wanted. This lost the whole purpose of mistletoe for him. While he was here to meet new people, he was here to do just that. Nothing more significant than a hello here and a hey there. Just enough interaction to make conversations later down the years with the people he had missed previously.
Deciding to take matters into his hand before anything could even be assumed, Prat once again brandished out his wand and cast Avifors on the mistletoe above him and his new dance Partner. Prat did not know her before the summer camp. However they did share the same camp along with their friends. She much like him was a second year however Prat had never interacted with her during the duration of their first time in the castle.
Thinking it couldn't hurt to ask Prat introduced himself to her, thinking she might know who he was already but it'd to reflect poorly on his manners to be Presumptuous about it. With that Prat vibed along to the fantastic music playing in the background as he wondered what food he should be looking for after this.

"Oh thank you! This is actually one of my favourite outfits, I love this coat." The kind words spoken by their partner brought a smile onto Ariam's face, this has been an amazing ball, though guessing bu how much time has past it must be near the end. Ariam wanted to continue the conversation but it seems the dance floor has other plans, their feet began dancing once more and they stopped in front of a different girl. Ariam doesn't know what school she goes to but most likely not Castelobruxo, hopefully he'll find out.
They quickly looked up and saw the very object they were hoping to avoid this whole ball. The candle that was dripping wax on people, potentially ruining their outfits. Ariam quickly casts the umbrella spell, I swear to God if this doesn't work... Even though they were assuming the spell worked, they still moved out of the way a little. Ariam tried to cover their partner with the umbrella they hoped was working, and then asked her "So what school are you from? I'm a Castelobruxo student, my name is Ariam, Ariam Vargas." The dance felt like it was nearing an end, sad but Ariam really doesn't want to risk any more chances. Aren't they supposed to make sure all the candles are proper anyways?

Winding Down with Ariam Vargas @Aston Beckett

"A Castelobruxo student! I'm a Hogwarts attendee myself," Emily said in response to Ariam's question. "And call me Emily!" She caught sight of her knew acquaintance casting the Umbrella Charm above themselves, no doubt praying caution to the wind after the last candle wax incident. Emily couldn't blame Ariam. Better safe than sorry.
The pair continued to talk amicably for a little while longer until they heard the music pick up for the final time. Altogether for the last time of the event, the group danced for their last hurrah before being paired off to cap off one final dose of mistletoe magic.
Except for Emily. She found herself dancing alone for her last pair off. And under the mistletoe too? Surely that makes no sense to dance alone under the mistletoe. She couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed at that. Well, things happen. So she knew she had to make the most of it before the event ended.
She took advantage of the foliage above her and danced gracefully alone, soaking up the last of the décor as she enjoyed the final minutes of the event. All in all, it was a good time. She met some folks, hugged some others, and thankfully managed to avoid getting smooched under the mistletoe.
A yawn escaped her. With all the dancing and excitement it was no wonder she was tired. When the dance finally died down she stretched herself out and made her way slowly to the exit. After all that she could do with a rest. She smiled at the success of the event.
Heh!
