Lisabetta walked over to the Gryffindor table, keeping her head held high and eyes straight forward. She was very aware of her surroundings and never once missed a step or showed how she was feeling. She found a seat at the table that was a good enough distance from anyone else, and sat down with the elegance and grace that she had been trained to do her entire life.

She had noticed the commotion that had happened before she had ventured over the to the table, honestly who hadn't, and was a little disappointed that this would be her first dinner here at Hogwarts. She had never experienced anything like that before, she couldn't even imagine something like that happening at her home. She barely glanced over at the girl who was telling some ridiculous and crazy story and had to hide a small grimace, that is not the way a lady should act. She shook her head, taking herself out of her thoughts and immediately cursing herself on the inside for judging that girl so quickly, that is not something that she would do, that is something her mother would do. She did not want to be that way, but she wasn't sure that she was ready to engage with anyone like this girl, just yet.

She filled her plate up modestly, enough to fill her up, but not enough that would seem too much or cause her to bloat, a horror her mother would never allow to happen. As Lisabetta chewed her food slowly and without noise she glanced over at the Slytherin table and sighed lowly, how was she going to explain to her parents that she was the first person EVER in her family that was not in Slytherin?

Aliea walked over with a spring in her step, to the Gryffindor table. The table was bursting with energy, and everyone seemed to have having a fun time. Well, a few spells and arguments here and there, but nothing out of ordinary. She was excited to start her new life here, among other students.
She really didn't know anyone from Gryffindor, and she was willing to make some friends. But she was starving, being all excited and nervous from the Sorting Ceremony. Talking to people would have to wait for now. She moved to the side of table where things were more quiet. She didn't want to interrupt anything yet. Aliea marveled at the food. There seemed to be everything. From salad to roasted pork, desserts and everything. Aliea always had fancied sausages and salad, so she got some of that. There were several desserts that were appealing; she couldn't wait to try it.
She sat down, and listened in to several other students. None really provoked her desire to go join in, so she just stayed in her place, turned some of her attention to the Sorting Ceremony. There were some interesting looking students and names called out. She'd have to go talk to them sometime.

The thing is, difficult stuff tend to get easier the more you do them

Sophie felt very dizzy, so overwhelmed that she had spent the last few hours in a wordless daze, transfixed on every little detail as she tried not to miss anything. It felt like a long and very realistic dream, and that all too soon it would be all over, and she'd be back at home. She had already nearly fallen into the lake, leaning over the edge of the little boat to try and catch sight of something in its depths, a sea monster perhaps. It certainly looked like the place that would have one. It wasn't long after this near catastrophe that she was scolded by a disgruntled teacher for trailing behind the groups to inspect the paintings. They moved!

Having no idea what any of the houses were, having first heard peculiar words such as 'Slytherin' only moments ago, when an old hat sang about them, Sophia had no preference for what the hat would choose for her. As long as she was placed somewhere! She did notice, though, that some students seemed very relieved when the hat called a certain house, and others seemed horrified by it's decision. The children around her whispered nervously among themselves, and Sophia couldn't help but listen in. Some were in a state of panic, obsessing over what their family would think if they weren't sorted into Hufflepuff, others were adamant that Ravenclaw was the true place, for their wit and brains, many were concerned that the hat would overlook their qualities and put them in the wrong place, that they would rather drop out if that happened. This came as a surprise to her, does the table that you sit around to eat and the dormitory that you sleep in really say THAT much about your character and reputation?

The Gryffindors cheered as the hat bellowed its choice, after a good few moments of deliberation. Sophia made her way over to a free space on the table, trying not to look too over-eager. "Have you seen the ceiling?" she asked the person sat beside her, not bothering to introduce herself first. She also didn't care that she looked very odd, craning her neck backwards to get a good view of the stars dusted across the dark sky, in place of where the ceiling should be.

Lisabetta had been spacing off into her own world, not noticing what was going on around her. She was honestly just hoping that this ceremony would end soon and she could escape. She could practically feel some of the students from the Slytherin table looking over at her. That green table was full of people that she had grown up, people's whose parents often spent time with her parents. She knew it wouldn't be long before everyone back home knew that she had been sorted into Gryffindor.

Lisabetta was so deep in thought about everything that she hardly noticed someone sitting down next to her. She almost missed it when they spoke about the ceiling, but, breaking out from her thoughts, she looked up at the ceiling. It looked exactly how the ceiling was described to her by her family members who had attended Hogwarts. It was quite stunning to looking at to be honest, but she wasn't quite sure why it would be brought up in conversation. Wasn't everyone told about the wonders of Hogwarts before coming by their families?

Lisabetta turned towards the voice and saw a girl her age, with wild crazy brown hair, that seemed to go off in every direction.

"The ceiling is enchanted to look like that." Lisabetta realized that her answer was very straightforward and direct, but she honestly had no idea what to say.

"Its amazing" she breathed, tearing her eyes away to look at the girl who had replied to her, a little surprised that she wasn't as enthralled by the sight. The girl looked to be around the same age as her, and must only be a first year herself. It seemed strange, then, that she would be so used to all of this, whilst Sophia was still convinced that she must be in some very long, lucid dream "Have you seen enchantments before, then?" she asked, unable to keep the giddy thrill out of her voice "These are the first ones I've seen".

She noticed that there was food on the table now, and wasn't too sure whether it'd been there the whole time, as she certainly hadn't noticed any staff coming around to set it all out. Admittedly, she hadn't been paying any attention to the tables or the other students when she first arrived here, there were far too many other things to look at, like the curious floating candles. Still, the sight of it made her realise how hungry she was, and she was quick to begin filling her plate with a little bit of everything in immediate reach, piles of roasted turkey, a mountain of vegetables and a generous serving of boiled potatoes, a little bit of shepherd's pie, topped with thick, rich gravy. She was sure she wouldn't be able to finish it all, but she would certainly try.

Lisabetta was pretty confused at the question. Hadn't almost everyone seen enchantments before? She knew that they were not allowed to practice magic outside of school, but didn't any of her family ever perform enchantment spells in front of her before? She remembered watching her family perform different spells and charms and couldn't wait to start learning how to do all of those things.

"Every Yule season my family holds a massive ball. Our ceilings are normally enchanted like these ones are."

The Yule season ball was one of Lisabetta's favorite part of the year back at home. Her home usually felt very big and cold to her, but once the Yule season came around, her house came alive with amazing colors of silver, green, gold and red. The house elfs were always busy making the most amazing massive feast, aside from the Hogwarts one of course, and the house smelled so amazing. People would come from all over, family members Lisabetta hadn't seen since the year before, travelling all the way for Italy at times.

"Did your family never cast enchantments around you?"

Lisabetta immediately regretted asking the question. It was no business of hers what this girls family did or did not do. She could only imagine the look on her mother's face if she had heard Lisabetta just now.

Rhea found an open seat in the middle of the Gryffindor table and sat down in it. She sat down next to a girl with short brown hair, who seemed to be in a conversation with a another girl, this one with crazy wild brown hair. A thought of introducing herself and inserting herself into their conversation crossed their mind, but she decided not too. After all, the Sorting Hat had made a mistake, and soon she would sitting with the Slytherins, where she truly belonged... Right?
After a battle with her conscience, Rhea decided that there was no harm in making at least a couple of friends. So, she tuned into her conversation and noticed that they were talking about the enchanted ceiling. It was pretty wicked, but not the best she had ever seen.
"Hello, I'm Rhea. Rhea Bishop," she introduced herself. "And I heard you were talking about the ceiling, right? Well, it is fascinating, but I've definitely seen better."
As soon as the words came out of her mouth, Rhea was left feeling like a snob. But by then it was too late to take her words back, and Rhea was left waiting for their reaction. If they liked her - great! And if they didn't, Rhea didn't care all too much.

"A ball!" Sophia could just imagine it. Almost like the lavish affairs that you see in movies, with the sparkly, flowing ballgowns and soft orchestra music playing as people dance, a grand hall not unlike this one, but garnished in elaborate decorations of all different colours. She had never been to one, but she knew it'd be enchanting, especially with the addition of a magical moonlit ceiling and floating candles, and all the other astonishing things that you can probably do with enchantments. Not that she knew yet what this would involve, but she couldn't wait to see more. "A few months ago, I didn't know that magic existed" she explained "my family are... normal". She hoped it wouldn't be seen as rude to infer that witches and wizards are abnormal. She was a witch herself, after all.

A girl with red hair joined them, introducing herself as Rhea, and Sophia quickly realised that she had been too distracted to do the same. Great way to make new friends. "I'm so sorry, so rude of me, my name is Sophia"
She forced herself to eat another mouthful of food, not even half-way through her meal. She regretted not saving room for dessert, which looked delicious. "Do you have enchanted ceilings in your home, too?" she asked Rhea, who claimed to have seen even better ones.

Rhea stared at the curly-haired girl, whose name supposedly was Sophia. By her explanation, Rhea could gather that she was a Mug-... a Muggle-born. Rhea was about to say something about Sophia's heritage, but held herself back. She was trying to reinvent herself, was she not?
Instead, Rhea decided to answer the girl's question. "Why yes, of course. My parents hold the best dinner parties in Liverpool, and everyone who is anyone comes. So it is only appropriate that we have the best decorations, no?"
That one sentence opened up a flood of memories of all the dinner parties she could remember. The most recent one was in the middle of August, to celebrate her mother's birthday. There were at least half a thousand people gathered in her mansion's ballroom, all conversing and dancing and eating. However Rhea herself was not present in this ballroom, having been banished to the so-called 'children's room.' She was stuck with the other children of her mother's acquaintances, and was forced to entertain them so the Bishops wouldn't hold a bad reputation.
"Yes," continued Rhea. "Our dinner parties were really the best. Have you never been to a magical party of sorts?" Rhea could guess the answer to that questions, but she still asked it. Just to make conversation.
