Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn’s cheeks continued to flush, while looking at Minnie’s cupcake. ‘What would she like on hers? I know she’d probably like just about anything I put on it. But, I want to make it look like I put some thought into it …’ Her mind trailed off. With a smile, she went and obtained more fresh fruit. This time, blueberries, raspberries, and coconut flakes. She took her time, making a layer of the coconut flakes in the middle of the heart. Then, intricately placed, she alternated blueberries and raspberries around the inside of the heart. To top it off, she put another candy heart right in the middle of the heart. ‘I hope she likes this. Minnie deserves a special one,’ she thought.
Waking her from her reprieve, Kaitlyn looked over at Tracey and giggled. “Thanks. I wouldn’t worry about that. I think whomever gets your cupcakes will be happy that you thought of them. I know I wouldn’t judge,” she confirmed with an understanding smile. “Yeah, I don’t blame you. I’d be a bad friend to encourage you to do something like that. I could also make cupcakes for you, too,” she offered with a smile.
Kaitlyn giggled at Tracey’s comments. “Why wouldn’t he want to? It sounds to me like you two like being around each other. Aw, you’re plenty smart Tracey. It’s just one class,” she tried to reassure her friend. She spent a few moments considering Tracey’s dilemna. “Well, I don’t know him like you do. But, how about chocolate? Or lemon? Oh, or one involving like a cookies and cream type?” She threw out a bunch of suggestions. She’d assume Klynn wouldn’t want something too fruity.
“Ah, I came up with an idea for my third cupcake, I’ll be right back,” Kaitlyn told Tracey. She quickly jogged back over to the Slytherin table and picked up a third vanilla base. This one would be for her Quill Pal, Quinn. She applied strawberry shortcake frosting into a heart. She made a face on this one. Eyes were made out of candy hearts. A nose from a few sprinkles. Then, for the lips, two fresh strips of strawberries. She smiled at her work of art. ‘Maybe I should go into decorating,’ she thought with a smile.
Kaitlyn gave Tracey a smile at her reassuring words. “Thanks for the encouragement. I hope so. Then again, I have a while to find a special girl,” she agreed.Reducio

Calming Presence in Effect: All Participants Affected (Except Méabh)
As it was Valentine's Week, Piérre wasn't surprised that there was so much love in the air. Alas, he himself was all alone, with nobody that he could say was his 'special someone'. But he wasn't too upset about it... he wouldn't have wished for anyone to be forced to spend time with him and all the crazy and ridiculous issues that he had. Too flighty, too unable to focus or to take anything seriously for too long... sometimes Piérre annoyed himself. And that took talent.
Still, this was an excuse to go and have some cupcakes. He liked free food. Doing his best to avoid the sightline of Miss Reaganomics, Piérre picked a spot and immediately just took one 'naked' and undecorated cupcake for himself as he brainstormed what to do with the next one and who he would send it to. Well, it was more of what he was going to decorate it with, really. He already knew who he was going to give it to. The recipient was pretty obvious, at least in his mind. It was none other than the dearest and beloved Evelynn Decipio.
Piérre had not seen or really engaged with Evelynn in a while... and the last time he had interacted with her had been at the duel, during which she had been... decidedly colder and more stern than she usually had. It was a side of Evelynn Piérre wasn't used to seeing. It was a side of her that had shown up suddenly, unexpectedly. Well... while the boy was very bad at being able to bring himself to directly approach the subject with her... maybe he could do something that would at least cheer her up temporarily? Perhaps with... a cupcake?
Biting his lip in thought as he finished off the rest of his cupcake, Piérre beheld the frostings, sprinkles, and other decorations that were in front of him. There were so many options, so many things that he could do with the raw materials in front of him. So many things he could do, could make with boundless possibilities.
Well, that settled it. He was going to make the most chaotic and most disastrous cupcake possible. Something that was just so ridiculous that surely even a crack of a smile had to be evoked from the iron-faced lion. Something so Piérre-coded that perhaps it was just enough to... well... help Evelynn take her mind off whatever was causing her to take upon herself the persona of the frigid and distant person she had been expressing lately.
He worried for her, after all. Just as much as he worried over anyone else that he cared about but kept himself a distance from in order to ensure their safeties from him. He didn't want them to get hurt, after all... he didn't want them to disappear... to vanish without so much as a warning or a whisper.
It wasn't just one color of frosting that he was going to put on Evelynn's cupcake, but as many as he could. Red, green, blue, pink, white... purple, whatever he could get, it would go on in a spiral of colors like rings inside of rings. It would end up stacking something like three or four inches above the pastry itself, and Piérre wasn't even close to done yet. He still had to get the infamous sprinkles on it, those multicolored little sugary pellets that literally caused the nightmares of all adults who ever had children, for they knew that next to small crystal sugar sprinkles these bad boys never were able to be fully cleaned up. Like glitter in confectionary form. Piérre nearly dumped the entire shaker of those things on it, patting some of the sprinkles into the frosting itself just to make sure the whole thing was covered on ever square inch with just... stuff.
And, for good measure, a maraschino cherry on top. Perfect.
Well, with that disaster of a creation out of the way, it was now time for the creation of the letter that would accompany it. The letter was written in a weird half-cursive, half scribble--easily discernable as being left-handed in its slant--and almost messy but certainly not in a rushed way. It would read as follows:
Eevee,
Roses are red,
Sugar is sweet,
Take your mind off of whatever's bugging you
And enjoy a messy treat!
I'm not good at writing poems. I suggest trying to eat this disaster with a lot of napkins or maybe with clothes that you don't mind ruining forever. And definitely not in bed. The sprinkles will never see the light of day no matter how many times you try to clean it, probably.
Love you!
~ Piérre

The Cupcakes:Reducio
VALENTINES day week. A week where you eat sweets, write letters and have fun. And that was exactly what Reyna had in mind for today. The objective. Well to decorate some cupcakes of course. And send them to a special someone.
This special someone would end up being Reyna's best friend. Linda. Linda had been her friend since the beginning and she surely deserved a special little cupcake with a letter to show how much Reyna loved being best friends with her.
Reyna wandered around the hall looking at the decorations and trying to push her way through the beauty. There was literally no spot for her to work. It seemed as if everyone, almost every student was here. good thing she was too. She would not miss out on the fun.
Decorating cupcakes would be so much fun. I mean who didn't like it? Whoever didn't was clearly missing out. First, cupcakes were delicious. Second, I mean it was like art! But you could eat it! Even better.
So Reyna, picked up a plain cupcake and set to work. She was mesmerized by the hands around her and the people all creating wonders. Cupcakes. Beautiful ones. How should Reyna do hers. Well she was still thinking.
There were so many options for decorations. There were sprinkles. Tons of them. Like maybe every color in the entire world and every single shade of pink. And red. And there was gold and white and literally everything. There were heart shaped sprinkles and star shaped ones too. There were ones in balloons and also regular ones.
Frosting flavors. There were at least a hundred. There was strawberry, every fruit, vanilla, chocolate. Just to name like a few. Reyna really needed to decide on one but the options were endless.
Hogwarts had everything. Including Oreos and cookies and chocolate chips. Dang if she could spend the whole day making cupcakes she would.
But she was on a time limit. That was right. She had a goal and she would not spend all day here trying to decide what color sprinkles and frosting.
Chocolate frosting. Yes. She grabbed some of that. Sprinkles um like a mix of pink, red and white. Yeah that should work. It was not going to be perfect she knew that. It didn't need to. It just needed to be nice and pretty. She snatched a bottle of that. And maybe I could top it off with some.... heart shaped pink cookies on top! I knew it when I spotted it. I grabbed some of those cookies. It was time to get to work. So here I was with whatever I needed.
I knew how to frost. I had learned it this summer. I was careful while adding each sprinkle on top making sure it looked perfect. And finally I shaped the cookies into a heart and placed it right on top of the cupcake.
I decided that six cupcakes would be sufficient. I repeated this process six more times. Each time making it look better than the last. I ran to grab supplies a few times as well because I accidentally dumped too much sprinkles multiple times. I mean, it was fun! When I was done, I placed it into a little container and smiled. Hard work achieved.
Now, what was even better. The letter. I scribbled something down on a piece of paper and folded it up.
It read:
I smiled. this was going to be great. I handed it to someone who would deliver it to Linda. I felt accomplished. I was making someone specifically Linda's Valentines Day sweeter.Dear Linda,
Some sweet cupcakes for the sweetest person alive. Thank you for being an amazing bestie!
Love, Reyna

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn took a few moments, staring at her cupcakes. As much as she looked at Tracey’s and Quinn’s cupcakes, her mind kept bringing her back to Minnie’s cupcake with flushed cheeks. ‘I hope they like these … I did put in effort into all three,’ she thought. At her friend’s words, Kaitlyn quickly shook her head. “You, not popular? You seem to know a lot of our classmates … Who would ever want to send me one? I’m just a shy and introverted girl. I don’t think anyone likes me enough yet to give me one,” she reasoned with her lack of confidence. “You’re welcome to give me one, too, if you want to take pity on me,” she continued, sadly.
“Ah, those are lovely flavors,” Kaitlyn giggled. She pointed to the cupcake she made for Minnie. “I’m the same way, this one took me a while,” she confirmed with a nod. The perfect combination of base, icing, and decorations. There was still one last part, the note. “I don’t think you could go wrong with any of them,” she tried to help her friend, giving her a smile. “I love sweets, too,” she giggled.
“I’ll be right back again … I’m going to get some paper for the note…” Kaitlyn trailed off. She stood up stiffly, and ventured to the Hufflepuff table to obtain the paper. Her cheeks flushed as she saw all the options. ‘This is all so freaking adorable … I wonder which one Minnie would like …. maybe one of the intricate ones with hearts? Then again, she knows I’m an artist. I feel like she’d prefer a plain paper decorated with my drawings,’ she thought, her cheeks glowing redder at each passing moment.
Kaitlyn took a few sheets of pain paper, presuming she made a mistake, and took her time sorting through the equipment. She took a package of colored pencils, a caligraphy pen, an eraser, and pencil, and a formal styled pen. With a statisfied smile, she headed back over to Tracey with her supplies for Minnie’s cupcake. When she placed her items on the table, her cheeks flushed brighter. “Oh, that’s right … I have two other cupcakes…” she trailed off, mumbling, forgetting momentarily about Tracey and Quinn. She quickly returned back to the table, taking her time again to find the right pieces of parchment for her two friends. She found a parchment with hearts and plants decorating the border. And another piece with brooms decorating the parchment.
With a quick resolve, Kaitlyn returned to where Tracey was, now fully prepared. “There’s way too many options,” she moaned with a sigh. Tracey and Quinn were going to get a little caligraphy. Minnie would get the caligraphy and some of Kaitlyn’s drawings. Her face continued to flush, as she returned to her seat, now needing to figure what to write to the three girls.
Kaitlyn looked up to Tracey, her cheeks flushing. “I get scared … I don’t want to ruin a potential friendship just because I like girls. But … thanks Tracey. I’m bound to find someone,” she confirmed, looking down at her lap.Reducio

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn flushed at Tracey’s words. Her lack of confidence wasn’t the only fuel for it. She wasn’t aware of how friends acted in the wizard of world, but the way she acted was pretty normal for her muggle friend group. She didn’t really see her actions or words to warrant being gifted a cupcake, when she didn’t think she was behaving in a special way. She considered saying this to Tracey, but didn’t want the Ravenclaw to think her confidence issues were a lot worse than they appeared. Instead, she smiled to Tracey and nodded in acknowledgement.
“I’m sure whomever you’re giving them to will love them,” she giggled. Tracey was very thoughtful, after all. Kaitlyn liked how optimistic her friend was.
As Tracey stayed at the Hufflepuff table to write her first letter, Kaitlyn quickly took the opportunity to write Tracey’s letter on the heart and plant border paper. She first started with the calligraphy, writing ‘Tracey’ in fancy lettering in the top. Then, she continued with the rest of her letter in perfect script penmenship. Each ‘i’ was dotted with a heart.
ReducioThank you so much for being my best friend. You’re so kind, caring, and you think so much about others, I wanted to show that I’m thinking of you today. I’m ecstatic to have found such a great friend! I’m sure Tiger and Demeter will get along well. You have no idea how much our friendship means to me. Thank you so much!

As Kaitlyn noticed Tracey returning, she quickly folded the letter, making sure to obscure that the letter was for her. She smiled brightly at her friend’s return. “Nice. I just finished one, too. Thank you,” she replied.
Before she was able to start her letter for Quinn, she heard Tracey’s comments and flushed dark red. She could tell that Tracey was straight, even before hearing about her crush. Quinn, she didn’t know that well yet to immediately identify, as she had only just met the Ravenclaw yesterday in person. But, she kind of doubted it. Then there was Minnie. She was entirely confused about her thoughts about Minnie. ‘Does Minnie like me? She likes me enough to be my friend, clearly. But, does she like me in that way…’ She thought.
Uncharacterstically, for their relatioship, she fell silent, not wanting her mouth to betray her mind. She took the paper with the brooms on it, and began to write Quinn’s. She wrote Quinn’s name in caligraphy, as well, at the top of the sheet. Her following handwriting was, once again, in neat cursive with the ‘i’s dotted with hearts.
ReducioHi Quinn the Quill! I love how we got paired up to be Quill Pals. I think we’re so similar! And thank you so much for offering, and from what we did just yesterday, teaching me to fly. You did such a good job, thank you so much. I wanted to send you this to show my appreciation for our budding friendship. Thank you so much for putting up with me in my letters. Does this one count for that, anyway? I have no idea. But, please, enjoy this cupcake!

Kaitlyn’s blue eyes fell on the plain white paper that she was going to draw on, the flush never leaving her face. She finally responded to Tracey’s encouragement. “Thanks … Sorry, I don’t want to burden you with my thoughts. You know how shy I can be,” she responded. She took the pencil and began to sketch on the paper. A nice tulip and a brillant rose started to take form on the sheet in front of her. Her hand moving straight from memory.
Without even thinking, her mind recalled Minnie’s smile at the bracelet she gave her. She recalled the charms she provided. A Hufflepuff crest. A badger. A paint brush. A brownie. And then, then list she wrote just last night before going to bed: Something to do with trouble making? A tulip. Something to do with her pet ferret. As her mind clouded, different pictures mirroring the charms she gave Minnie appeared on her page. She felt lost and secure at the same time. ‘What is happening to me?’ she thought.Reducio

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn smiled to Tracey, but began to nervously play with one of her pigtails. “Thanks … I, um, thanks,” she responded, tongue-tied at all the compliments she was receiving from Tracey. ‘I like how Tracey is trying to make me feel included. I like that about her,” she mused.
Kaitlyn let her eyes drop back down to the paper in front of her. On it, she had finished sketching the tulip, rose, Hufflepuff crest, a badger, a paintbrush, and a brownie. With a small smile, she quickly sketched out a chocolate chip cookie. ‘Ooooh, I know what else I can add,’ she thought, a fresh round of flush developed on her cheeks. She drew her best impression of a pizza croissant. ‘I’ll have to be extra careful in coloring that,’ she thought.
While Tracey was busy writing her second letter (unbeknownst to Kaitlyn, it was for her), Kaitlyn stared at the paper again. A hopeful smile on her face. She took the colored pencils and began to color everything in. While she didn’t have the experience of coloring in her drawings as much, she understood the rough idea.
The tulip was colored with different shades of yellow for the petals, and green for the stem. It mirrored the tulip Kaitlyn gave Minnie at the dance. Next, the rose was colored a nice dark red, with ligther shading to accentuate the petals, with green for the stem. For the Hufflepuff crest, she used a mixture of shading from a yellow pencil and a regular graphite pencil. The badger was colored with just the graphite pencil. The paintbrush had different shades of brown, the bristles a tan color, multicolored paint permeated the brush. She even gave it a mixing effect to mirror how different paints would mix.
The brownie was shaded with various impressions of brown, trying to highlight the fudgy exterior. Her extra chocolate chip cookie was shaded with tan and brown. Then, she took the longest with the pizza croissant. Tan, yellow, and a small amount of brown were used to make a cooked exterior. Her drawing gave a look inside the pizza croissant with the gooey cheese (shaded with a cream color) and pepperoni (shaded with various amounts of red). It felt like it took her forever. But, she was happy with how it looked.
Right when she was about to use calligraphy again, Kaitlyn heard Tracey, her face flushing again. “Yes, I finished two. I’m happy you finished two, too. Thanks … I … um, would you like to use these?” She asked, handing the colored pencils over to Tracey. She didn’t know what Tracey was planning, but kept an ear open, just in case her friend requested her help with drawing.
Kaitlyn took her time, writing the name ‘Minnie’ in a special calligraphy-style at the top of the sheet, taking great care to write the letters effortlessly. The end result was a unique handwriting, than the other two letters she already wrote. Despite the calligraphy pen, she was able to put mini hearts over the ‘i’s in Minnie’s name. With that part completed, her eyes stared at the blank space under Minnie’s name, her flush was now a light pink, as she tried to think of what to write to her friend.Reducio
