Blue in English, Red in Korean“FREYA” A shiver ran down her spine. She really hoped to avoid the boy for as long as possible alas, it seemed he’s got eyes on every single person present. Besides, she was not exactly someone hard to miss... Even in a room full of people.
Leaving her suitcase alone, Eun-ji was about to tell Hiro ( that was his name, right?) off when he attempted to hug her. It was such a shocking gesture to her that he nearly succeeded however, once his arms touched her, the witch immediately smacked them away. It was a natural instinct really. Physical contact was still rather awkward for her even with her exfriends let alone a stranger. “Missed me? You don’t even know me.” The Ravenclaw commented, thinking how ridiculous this whole situation was. “What was your name again?” Perhaps she shouldn’t have asked. Sparkles might take that as a sign of interest from her side but to her, it felt like a basic human decency. They were going to share a living space for the whole month so she couldn’t hope to avoid him. In that case, she should at least remember his name, no?
The boy in front of her didn’t seem to mind her unfriendly reaction and continued to shower her with questions. He has a thick skin this one…troublesome. “No. I was busy playing games.” At last, Eun-ji answered his question. It must have sounded truly bizarre, especially with how unbothered she sounded as she said this. Of course, she was supposed to try and get away from all the chaos and fire but back then, she simply didn’t feel like it. So, how do I get him out of my hair? That was probably going to be a real challenge. “Now that’s out of the way, how about you run along and finish greeting all the other people, hm?” He seemed eager to make friends with pretty much everybody so the witch hoped he’d follow her suggestion. The only other option would be leaving the cabin but she just came here and didn’t really feel like exploring outside just yet.

𝓐madea watched, her eyes wide, as the scene unfolded around her. It really did feel like she was in some scene out of The Babysitter's Club, which come to think of it, was not actually a movie at all but a series of books which Amadea would have no reason to know of. Either way, as she stood, listening to the conversation between Jürgen and Durmstrang-boy, she felt entirely out of place. Not to mention that her fellow cabinmates were already planning on redecorating the place.
Amadea would be the first person to admit she knew virtually nothing about interior design, but if this beige wonderland of Pinterest beach house aesthetics was considered dark and dreary, then saying she knew nothing was an understatement. Alas, she did not have to worry about this as Durmstrang-boy was now turning toward her and introducing himself as Johannes. "Hi, I'm Amadea," she replied. "It's nice to meet you." She could tell that he had a fun personality from the way he was already joking about his middle name, and it gave Amadea hope that herself and the other older students could maintain some semblance of fun in this cabin for the summer.
She was about to follow up with Johannes with some sort of question about Durmstrang as she had never visited the other wizarding school, but before she could grasp the right question to ask, another student was bouncing into the cabin and yelling out broad introductions to everyone inside, promptly derailing Amadea's train of thought. It was at this moment that another student came up to Amadea and her little group of older students and asked to take the top bunk. Amadea did not recognize the girl, but based on her appearance, looked to be around her age. She seemed timid while approaching, and Amadea resolved to make her feel perfectly welcomed and at home here.
"Hi, no worries you're not interrupting a thing," she said cheerily. "And you're welcome to take the top. I'm Amadea, welcome to the best bunk in the whole cabin!" She winked as she reached out a hand to shake her new bunk mate's.

It hadn't escaped his notice that yet another person had made their way into the Thestral Cabin. But right now he was more interested in giving all his attention to Freya! He'd go after the newcomers soon afterward, there was always time for that later, once the girl either went for a nap or left the cabin. The pink haired teen didn't mind at all when Eun-ji smacked his arms away from her. It was a typical response that he'd come to expect from most people he tried to do this to. Tone just grinned as she spoke, asking why he missed her when they didn't even know eachother. "But I want to!" The pink haired teen told her cheekily. "Tone! Yours?" He asked with a sparkle in his eyes, even though Monica had told him before that her name was Eun-ji. And yes, he'd remembered her real name. But he liked calling her Freya since he wasn't supposed to know it yet, as she hadn't really introduced herself to him. Plus, Freya was a goddess and wasn't that what Eun-ji was? She had the regal grace of one and was quite sophisticated too. But at the same time was blinding beautiful in a cool, mysterious manner. She really did embody a goddess, at least to him that is. Eun-ji then spoke of how she'd been playing games at the ball. Tone pouted at this. "You should have let me know somehow! I'd have played them with you!" After all, being alone was never any fun, it was always more fun with someone else by your side. Or had she not been alone? Knowing her, it seemed as if she had probably been alone though, and it would have made him feel bad if she'd been alone. Tone raised a brow when Eun-ji spoke of having him go finish greeting others. "You sure you'll be alright on your own? I don't want to go away and return to find you gone! That's what I did last time!" The pink haired teen reminded her with a pout of his lips at Eun-ji.... Still, even if this were to happen, Tone wouldn't give up on the girl. This time it would be easier to track her down because the two were living together! And there was a schedule of events taking place. She most likely would participate in at least one of them, right? And Tone intended on doing everything but the gnome racing one. But he'd still be around to witness the spectacle that would take place. "We should go do some activities together! I hear the Sugar Fair is happening today, want to go there with me?" He grinned at Eun-ji. "I hear they have lots of delicious sweets for sale, it would be a great one to check out." |

Blue in English, Red in KoreanThe pink haired boy seemed thoroughly unaffected by her stand offish behaviour and expressed a desire to get to know her better. Eun-ji wasn’t interested. Sure, he seemed like a nice guy but that had nothing to do with her. She didn’t want to be friends with nice people. Right now, she’d rather surround herself with douchebags that could handle any unpleasant situations thrown their way. Then again, she’d have to deal with their behaviour herself, which just sounded exhausting.
“Tone! Yours?” The witch frowned. No that’s not right. She was almost sure it was Hiro or something similar. “Really? I vaguely recall a Japanese name.” She commented eventually but did not ask him for any alternative. Either he would give it to her or not. “I won’t be calling you that. I already know one Tone and that’s already one Tone too many in my life.” She almost wished Hana was there to hear her. They tended to tease each other like that a lot. For a brief moment, she wondered whether he would be coming to the camp as well. Ravenclaw and Slytherin were both supposed to participate in the summer duelling championship and Hana loved duelling. Not that she cared whether he would be there of course. She was just curious and didn’t miss him in the slightest. “Hm? Ah…Eun-ji. Lee Eun-ji.” Still somewhat lost in thought, the Ravenclaw forgot whom she was currently talking to and actually introduced herself. She wasn’t planning to originally, but she got distracted. Whatever, it’s not like her name was a secret. Even if she didn’t tell him, the boy could have easily asked around. Besides, he already made a nickname for her so what was the point? He’d probably just use that instead.
Eun-ji raised her eyebrows when the visiting student complained about her not inviting him to play games. She didn’t say anything but it was a clear ‘Are you serious right now?’ kind of look. She was really great at those. What was he even talking about? He was doing the right thing. The whole place was a mess and partly on fire. Of course, people were supposed to help each other escape like he did. Who in their right mind would invite somebody to play games with them under such circumstances? She would know. Kim and her definitely weren’t in their right minds back then otherwise they wouldn’t do so either. She was not about to tell Hiro all that however. Too much effort and none of his business.
“Yes, I’m sure. Alone is perfect.” The witch assumed that would be the end of it but the teen didn’t turn to leave just yet. As if she had somewhere to run. Sure, she could avoid him as much as possible but they would all have to be back in the cabin eventually. Why couldn’t this one just take a hint? He even offered to hang out with her outside AND he chose the worst possible activity. “I’m not going to that one. I don’t eat sweets.” Eun-ji revealed without much concern. Whether he would be horrified like most of the other students were when she said so or he wouldn’t care didn’t matter to her. She didn’t really come here to hang out with people. She was here to rest, duel and let Mordred play with other pets. Speaking of…The Ravenclaw bent down to open a box, housing her little furry friend. He was usually just following her on foot, never straying too far from her but since there were so many people from other schools as well, she decided to move him in a box for once. It was safer for him that way.
The silver Egyptian Mau greeted her by gently rubbing against her leg and then proceeded to make himself comfortable on the lower bunk bed. The witch scratched him gently behind his ear. She didn’t need people to keep her company. Mordred would do just fine. Animals were not cruel like humans were.

The way Eun-ji had frowned immediately after he'd told her his nickname made him wonder a little. It was suspicious! Did she actually already know his name? If she did, that in turn meant she'd done some research into him which made him grin, because that would mean she had some interest in him! If you were completely disinterested in someone, you wouldn't even bother to do so. Tone let his eyes linger on Eun-ji for a few seconds and his smile grew wider when she spoke again. "So you do have some interest in me!" He exclaimed, his eyes sparkling at this revelation. "You are correct. Tone is just my quidditch nickname. Want to play a game to find out my name? If you win you get a prize!" The pink haired teen teased her. "I'll give you a freebie though, it starts with an H." Tone told Eun-ji. "You know someone else called Tone? That's pretty cool, you should introduce me to that person sometime!" Tone said with another smile. Eun-ji gave her name to him and he nodded. "It's a pretty name! Hm, I'll have a hard time trying to choose now... a name fit for a goddess or a beautiful and pretty name! I might just use them interchangeably!" Tone said with a grin, still sticking right by Eun-ji's side. "Unless, you have a preference as to what you'd like to be called...." He added, not wanting to make her too uncomfortable. Despite Freya reassuring him she'd be fine alone, Tone was hesitant to leave her side. He'd just found her. The pink haired teen blinked upon hearing that Eun-ji didn't like sweets. But unlike most sweet-lovers upon finding out the person they were talking to didn't like sweets, Tone did not badger her about trying to convince her to eat them! "Wow, really? Do you not like sugar in general or is it just candy and desserts that you don't like?" He asked, curious. At least he was learning more about her as they spoke! Tone reminded himself mentally to jot down into his Friends Book that he carried everywhere a few notes.... Such as Freya did not like sweets. It was something to remember for later use! He was just about to suggest they go for a walk together when Eun-ji leaned down to open a box which revealed a beautiful cat to match a beautiful girl! "OH MY GOD! What a beautiful cat!!!!" Tone exclaimed, getting overly excited because he loved cats! Well, he loved all types of animals and critters. Anything that could become a pet he loved and would lavish attention upon! As Mordred jumped up onto the lower bunk bed, Tone tried to snuggle a little... |

Blue in English, Red in Korean“So you do have some interest in me!” Oh for God’s sake. Now she’s done it. Of course even this much was enough to delight the boy. Eun-ji sighed. “I’m not playing with you. Either tell me or don’t. I don’t care.” Considering the hint, she was now one hundred percent sure the name was Hiro but she elected not to say it aloud. If he was this excited by her mentioning she vaguely remembered his name being Japanese, what would his reaction be if she told him she even remembered the actual name? In fact, Eun-ji was almost tempted to guess wrong just to rain on his parade a little but then decided against the idea. Not cooperating would be just fine for now.
Soon after, Hiro expressed his desire to be introduced to Hana. For some reason, the Ravenclaw found that idea frightening. In some ways, the two of them were pretty similar and their energy levels were off the charts. “I’d rather not. I think it’s best the two of you never meet…for everybody’s sake.” If the two of them happened to meet somehow on their own then so be it, however she refused to be the one to cause the mayhem. Perhaps she worried needlessly but Eun-ji wasn’t willing to risk it. Besides, her relationship with Hana was rather complicated. She wouldn’t call them friends and didn’t feel like she should introduce anyone to him…especially not someone she barely knew. “It's a pretty name! Hm, I'll have a hard time trying to choose now... a name fit for a goddess or a beautiful and pretty name! I might just use them interchangeably!” Hiro’s enthusiasm seemed never-ending. Shouldn’t he be tired of her by now? Also what’s up with the goddess thing? She did adore Arthurian legends but being compared to a goddess was just too much...and utterly undeserved. “It doesn’t really matter…” Truly. It didn’t. As long as he didn’t call her Hunt. “…but you should stop holding me in such high esteem. I’m telling you straight away that you greatly misjudged me.” There. He couldn’t say she didn’t warn him.
The question about sweets should have been easy to answer however for her, it never was. It was not that Eun-ji hated them. She even tried some here and there and when she was still alive, her grandma would make sure she had a birthday cake every year. Funnily enough, it was the very same woman that taught her sweets were not good for her body hence the Ravenclaw learned not to eat them and eventually lost all desire to do so. “Sugar is pretty much in everything, it would be hard to hate it. I’m just not used to eating sweets and I don’t feel the need to start.” Perhaps she should have just lied and said she didn’t like too much sugar. It might have made things easier for her. Next time.
At last, their conversation was interrupted by Mordred’s appearance. “OH MY GOD! What a beautiful cat!!!!” Oh no! “Don’t…” Eun-ji tried to warn the boy before he dove for her fury companion alas it was too late. In many ways, the cat was too similar to his owner. He looked calm and elegant and loved all animals but he was not so keen on meeting new people. Sometimes, he would take liking to somebody right from the start but it did not happen very often. Hissing in warning, the Egyptian Mau took a few steps back, looking properly offended. Still he made no attempt to actually hurt Hiro. He was just voicing out his displeasure. “He doesn’t cuddle with strangers.” The witch finally finished the thought. Somebody ought to teach the boy not to hastily approach pets he didn’t know. She appreciated his love for cats (not that she would tell him) but this was not the best way to go about it.

She was quite fun to talk to and he couldn't wait to see what the future had in store for them together! The standoffish approach she was trying to take with him reminded him of the Japanese term 'tsundere' and he tried to hide a smile about this. That only seemed to make her cuter in his eyes. As Eun-ji rejected the notion of introducing him to the other Tone, saying 'it would be better they never met for everybody's sake', Tone raised a brow. Now that was an interesting thing to say, and of course it piqued his curiosity about the matter. Could this other Tone be like him? He'd have to go around and find out who this was a little later on. He was fairly certain Eun-ji wouldn't tell him where to find him, so Tone would have to go find him on his own. But that was fine. He was resourceful and knew how to ask people! Eun-ji's next words made his brow furrow and he tilted his head to the side. "Really?" Tone didn't prod further though because they were in a cabin with lots of other people at the time. If they wanted to hold a private conversation, it would be better to go outside and be on their own. He'd tackle her later and drag her off when she was on her own outside later. That sounded bad... But it really wasn't! "Ah, I see." Tone said with a nod of his head. "So you don't mind sweet tasting dishes as long as they aren't candy or desserts." That was good to know. There was nothing wrong with people not liking desserts. It was a shame since he loved them but everyone had their own tastes. It was good she didn't mind sweet tasting things as long as they weren't classified as candy or desserts. She had more options to choose from when it came to foods then. "What kind of dishes are your favorites?" Tone asked, curious. The teen spotted the lovely cat soon afterward. And what followed was a series of hissing from the cat and pouting from the nearly fourteen year old, come September. He glanced back over at Eun-ji as she told him the cat didn't like cuddling with strangers. "Mm. I don't usually dive like this, I must have lost myself upon seeing him. He's so cute!!!" Tone exclaimed and reached up to scratch his head a bit sheepishly. "So if you don't have any intention of seeing the Sugar Fair, what's your plan for today?" He asked, looking up at Eun-ji from his position. On the bunk with the cat. It was almost as if he was waiting there just to see if the feline would make its way over to him later. |

Blue in English, Red in KoreanThankfully, the young man didn’t linger on the whole Tone situation for much longer. There was still some curiosity in his eyes but he didn’t push her for more information. That being said, he didn’t end up telling her his name either. Eun-ji wasn’t sure whether he actually didn’t want to or simply got too distracted. No matter, it’s not like I’m planning to hang out with him. She thought as she calmly watched the Mahoutokoro student process her ‘warning’. He clearly accepted her words but gave no indication on whatever his verdict might be. The witch hoped to see some disappointment or at least a loss of the buzzing excitement but no such thing happened. He was truly a persistent individual.
“So you don't mind sweet tasting dishes as long as they aren't candy or desserts.” Eun-ji was a bit confused. She wasn’t necessarily sure what his definition of desserts was. She generally classified all sweet dishes as desserts although that probably wasn’t a common way to think. Should she say yes or no? “Well I…” She rubbed her temple, feeling somewhat frustrated. What happened? Conversations like this shouldn’t have been so complicated. “Just…don’t bring me ANY food and we’ll be okay.” The Ravenclaw decided eventually. It’s not that she expected him to do so because… why would he? However, she couldn’t help the feeling that he was precisely the kind of a person, who might do that even though they barely knew each other. “I can make all my favourite dishes myself. It’s not something you’d find here or at Hogwarts so there is no reason to know.” This was true. All her favourite dishes were Korean and that was not something you’d see around here unless she made it herself. This meant said information was of not use to him whatsoever.
“That’s good then. Don’t scare animals like this needlessly.” Mordred definitely wasn’t the only pet around here that would not appreciate such unexpected action so Eun-ji was glad it wasn’t a common occurrence for Hiro. Once he calmed down, the silver cat reluctantly let the stranger scratch his head. He was great at holding grudges however and so it was clear this was as far as he was willing to go today. The witch was quietly watching the scene for a moment. Hiro was lounging on her bed as if they knew each other for ages. How was he so brazen? It just didn’t make sense to her. “Not sure but probably nothing interesting.” She relented eventually and answered the question. She’d probably study, read or go for a walk. Too exhausted to mingle. This interaction was already handful thank you very much. “Aren’t you going to the fair though? Shouldn’t you be getting ready? Grab some friends?” Eun-ji casually waved her hand in the direction of the other students. Surely she wasn’t interesting enough for him to stick around for much longer.

| ─── | Things were going well!
There were lots of inhabitants at the cabin who seemed like fun to be around. He'd make a lot of new friends. Tone was kind of hoping Eun-ji would ask for his name again. But he also was fairly certain she wouldn't, at least not right now. Maybe when they saw eachother again, she'd slip up and call out his name, if she saw him. That is, if she remembered his name. Either way, he might figure out whether she knew it or not the next time they met eachother. Eun-ji's reaction to him not going away was typical of most people. Many didn't know how to deal with him and either got frustrated or became cruel to him, hoping he'd give up later. Neither of which worked. Tone was very determined and had strong willpower and patience. No matter how long it took, he'd still persevere until the very end and get what he wanted from them. Which was their friendship, at least for them to accept what he was giving them at least. Eun-ji was much the same, she was frosty at first and somewhat indifferent but eventually she'd come around! Tone grinned at her when she seemed a little flustered about food choices. Before he could say anything, she continued to speak to the boy. Tone raised a brow. Well, that was definitely interesting, it piqued his curiosity even more. A challenge for him to take on! Something that couldn't be found at summer camp or at Hogwarts. Something she could make herself in particular. Tone considered this for a few seconds. There could be many things that could encompass, he'd have to give it some serious thought later on and figure out what it was. Obviously he couldn't ask her because she didn't seem as if she wanted to tell him. But Tone had many ways of finding things out and would put those ways to use to discover the answer! It would be fun to do and he grinned thinking about it.... Once he left summer camp, he'd start sending her some letters and bother her in that manner. After all, Tone knew her name now and could send them to her residence! One way or another, he'd find out more about her and develop a deeper relationship with her in such a manner. It was the best way to get to know someone when you didn't attend the same school and it was something he'd done with a lot of people. It worked. It really did. He'd already made a few friends in this way, or rather he was in the midst of doing this. Tone knew when he achieved success because once he could get them to respond to his letters more than 3 times in a row, it was a sign they were interested in him. In some manner. Which in turn meant they would keep talking to him and interact with him, and that was what friends would do! So therefore, they would have become friends at that point in time. Tone was quite happy when the silver cat eventually came over to him and let him scratch/pet his head and grinned. He could feel Eun-ji's eyes on him and looked up at her.... A brilliant smile came to his lips as he gave her sparkle eyes. "Interested in me? I'm interested in you too!" Tone said with a cheeky grin, teasing her a little. After all, he knew that probably wasn't the reason. But he couldn't help but want to mess with her. She was kind of adorable flustered and when she was at a loss for words. However, he hadn't seen any of her other looks because she hadn't really shown him. She was probably even more adorable with other expressions on her face. As Eun-ji asked if he was going to the Sugar Fair, Tone blinked. "Right! I forgot about the fair. I should probably head out and check out the stalls. We can always catch up after." Tone said.... "After all, we live together now!" He said with a grin. It was a strange way to phrase this but also technically true for now. "I'll bring you back something when I return." Tone promised with another cheeky grin and then hopped up from the bed, once Mordred had left his lap. He saluted Eun-ji, grabbed his backpack and then zoomed out of the cabin like a rocket. A very agile one, that didn't bump into anyone along the way. Now... what to get Eun-ji... maybe not sugary treats. But something she might like perhaps??? He was also curious. What kind of food could she have been talking about that wasn't at camp or Hogwarts? He pondered. Tone would have to give it some thought, maybe check with some other students who went there and discover the answer. Once he had the answer, it would be easier to figure out what Eun-ji liked. |

They served different purposes, it was not as much a statement of 'better' as it was 'different.' The garish heraldry and colors that defined the four Hogwarts houses were in a way, an assault to his ocular senses. "More history here," a truth. "This school has always been a face of power in the wizarding world, no matter how hard the other schools try." They were always secondary characters, sub plots, the places Hogwarts won when placed against. "Nothing interesting happens there," a partial truth. They have had 'incidents.' A handful of attempted (failed) kidnappings. He never knew of an outcome and little if anything ever made it to the paper, the incident itself was essentially inferred.
He missed Hogwarts, even if this place carried more bad memories than good. His subservience to his cousin pervaded his experience and his carelessness put their entire family at risk. It was interesting how they chose to mix and match the students in the cabins. He did not have a pre-existing connection with most of the oth4r students and from the look of things, the other students fared similar. There appeared to be an attempt to separate the student bodies, he wondered if it was for the purpose of mingling or if it was more insidious.
“Damn right I’m from Durmstrang. Portkey this time, no fancy boat to stir up the Lake.”
"Well, good thing. It was either that or you stole someone's clothes and we are going to find someone in their briefs in the bushes." He was making small talk. Trying to be pleasant. That was the only instruction he was given and for the first time in a long time, it was not something that left him uncomfortable.
The only problem is, as 'good' as he pretended to be. As 'good' as he wanted to be. At his core, he shared a common trait with his cousins, a surplus of pride. Not the sort of pride that makes him unwilling to lower himself or even willfully lose, but the sort of long-term pride that compels a calculating nature to counter even the smallest of sleights. 'Doe eyes' eh?
"Maybe a bit," he lied. "Always had a soft spot for the fairer half," a partial truth. "Can't help if I have great game," a bold faced lie. A cruel idea had manifested. "This is Amy-Amadea Campbell, we just met." Most take the hook. He was going to drop several points in Amadea's regard but he did not know her, he did not value her or really anyone frankly. However, he did know them pretty well. They were not driven by their hormones, but more their capricious nature. They wanted to live, to experience and to alleviate this boredom, sate this curiosity.
While their banter was ongoing, Amadea had started chattering with a girl with massive hair. That was his best description of her, her air reminded him of a plate of linguini piled high that was electrocuted. Yes, she could do something to tame that mane. Okay face at least. He wondered what her blood status and pedigree was.
"Hi, no worries you're not interrupting a thing," oh gee was not special at all. Good. "And you're welcome to take the top. I'm Amadea, welcome to the best bunk in the whole cabin!"
Hess would look over at what's-his-name (Johannes) and with a nod of his head he would say, "bet I can make a better impression with mine." He did not wait for a reply or a confirmation. He would lean towards the two ladies, the former he knew the name of sort of. The second he could hide some cool stuff in her hair, so easy enough to remember. "Hi Miss," a hand extended. "Name is Jürgen Hess, would you happen to be single?" Shameless and forward, but not interested. "Would like to meet..." shit what was his name? "John-ny? Johness," something like that. "Pretty sure I can make a better impression on a lady," yeah he was being up front about this part. This was not the cruel part. "Sorry that I'm not an option, so you'd be settling off the bat with him," it was a tilted competition with no prize besides honor and pride.
He expected Amadea to think him an idiot (a correct presumption). Perhaps mildly offended. But he could work past those if he got her ear for 15 seconds. You do not have to win, to win.
