15 < 19 (MISS)Date | Feb 5th, 2023And here it was, the final count down. Both Beatrice and Avery had given this little unofficial duel their all. Here they were, at the end of the fight. Both tired, both hurt, but still, both not ready to give up. This is what Monica loved about duelling. No matter how hard it got, no matter how hopeless it seemed, you never stop fighting! You find some trick, or spell, or pull from the depths of yourself the strength to continue one more round.
Ending the last round showed this, how tired the pair were, but how determined they were to not give up. Bea took a stance, raising her wand, she shakily called out Flipendo, going out with a bang, at least that is what Monica assumed. Avery didn't seem to bother trying to throw anything back, he held a stance, and seemed ready to dodge.
Though the spell was cast well, and Bea's aim was right on point, it would seem that even with little energy, Leveret was able to get himself out of the way. He wasn't going to be taken out that easily, and it surely shown that the boy had dignity. Never gonna give up.
And with that, Monica called it. The end of the duel. Monica took a moment to clear her throat before speaking up, "It was one heck of a duel! Both faught hard, and should be proud of the skills they demonstrated during this match." She paused, allowing the lull to hit before announcing the winner, "I am proud to say that the match goes to miss Beatrice Langstreth! Well done!" She could not contain her grin, and was so happy, and proud of her friend!
And that was that, Monica for the remainder of the day couldn't wipe the smile from her face, she had so much fun moderating this little match.... it sparked an interest of maybe one day being a duelling captain....Information
This was the Final mod post of this duel, feel free to write an exit post if you want to. I will lock this thread in 2 weeks.

┏ ┓----- Unmatched, he had thought himself. How wrong.
That thought niggled at the back of his mind, as he continued to pant and regain himself. The last bolt of blue had zipped at him and again he was just too quick for it to prove a threat. Now he was here, as the ending of the duel was announced to the chorus of his laboured breathing. His dark eyes burned brighter than the embers on his clothes, he had glimpsed a path to victory and needed just an ounce more of control of his spell-casting, and this would have ended differently.
To go toe-to-toe with an upperclasswoman was impressive, but not to him. He had come here suspecting that her desire to ‘practice’ was a falsehood, a lie to cover up the need to push him a peg down in the social hierarchy. Even if others didn’t see his failure as serious as he, he would hold this to himself until a time came where he could return the favour; and that humbling would taste sweeter-still, he bet. His brooding was best done in private, for plots ne’er do well when your foes see them coming; and so he did what was expected of him, a mask of feigned deference was adorned as expertly as the actors of old.
With distinguishable candour and grace, he flicked his wand into a hooped, leather sheath on his hip, bringing that arm around so that he might half-bow to her as he beamed a smile across the piste; it was silent, and deadly, the kind that concealed unbridled rage and appeared empty to most; but it was that emptiness that was the warning. A small nod was awarded to her, in recognition of her skill, but that was all.
He was injured, badly, and mulling over every move he made or could have made, forgetting himself for a moment before he cleared his throat and nodded to Monica.
“Thank you, Miss Evans. Unlike some others, your commentary didn’t prove to drive me insane. - I’ll see you around.” He gave carefully, to them both; eyes shifting between them beneath pained brows before he stepped off of the piste and towards the bleachers where his bag awaited.┗ ┛
