With one of the Gryffindors down, the Slytherins focused on their own affairs this time around, almost completely ignoring their remaining opponent.

Bridget deemed it necessary to cast some kind of magical encouragement, sharpening her eye even through the almost-liquid fog obscuring her vision—a fog which Opeila slowly chipped away with her Ventus.

Though concealed by the mist, Galton was still able to land his own version of Ventus; a direct hit on Opeila, and a glancing blow on Bridget. A commendable bit of magic, but the audience does seem to think this had only served to slow his opponents down if their increasing murmurings were any indication.

What else does the Gryffindor have up his sleeve now that it was two against one?

The fog was even worse than the smoke. Thicker, making it almost impossible to see. The Ventus only did little to help improve the view, but with only one opponent left, Opeila felt a little more at ease. There was only so much Galton could do, even with split spells. They would be fine.

Only that mentioned opponent seemed to be just fine with the fog. His ventus cut right through the fog and sent Opeila stumbling.

The things Bridget knew about Galton, the duellist: He didn't need a clear platform to land a solid hit, in fact he seemed to prefer some sort of cover. He could split spells with stunning efficiency. He was slippery, hard to hit.

It was that last bit that inspired her next move. Thus far they'd focused their spells on Rose, which had done well to gain them the upper hand, but they didn't have such choice anymore. It was just Galton left, and they'd have to be able to hit him. With sufficient concentration and maybe a little bit of luck in guessing which way he would try to dodge, Bridget was sure she could hit him, but that was a tall order, not certain enough for her liking. But she had an idea of how to tip the odds in her favor, and so she did.

The Bravery Charm felt... kind of weird. In a good way, probably, but it was still weird the way her racing thoughts slowed down. The buzzing of a thousand things Galton could try, and the ways she might be able to counter that, shut up. There wasn't this need to glance over to make sure Opeila was still doing fine every few seconds. She just felt calm. Confident.

Galton's spell spread Ventus made things slightly more chaotic, yes, but that was still fine. The slight disruption to her balance was something she could deal with, and Opeila's own Ventus had thinned the fog considerably, putting the platform more in their control. They had been landing spells all day, and there was no reason to think they would falter now.

Action: Doing as strategized

The covers were being pulled away from Galton. His fog was thinning. The Snakes were on to him, that he prospered in oh-so wonderful environment. Both Duelists were smart, it only made sense that they'd have a counter for his move.

And Bridget was prepared now. Sure he'd nicked her, but she was sure to feel like she could take on Merlin herself after that buff. Galton could feel the excitement building in his body. His legs flexing in anticipation of what he would have to evade next. The adrenaline pumping. He was in danger now - surrounded by snakes coiling to strike.

With three standing the majority of moves were defensive rather offensive. Galton threw up the shield charm, knowing he would be a big target (he was the only one at that). Opeila took to healing herself and her teammate, though they didn't look that banged up in the first place. Dori was sure the potential bruising was diminished. Bridget attempted to disarm Galton, but with the shield charm it rebounded and hurt her instead. Her wand flew out of her hand, a fair distance away. It would take more than a few seconds for her to recover it.

As the incantation came out of his mouth he felt a strange sense that he was disappointing someone. Possibly Toad, or Mr. Wand? He’d never used such a defensive spell - he was used to squirreling his way out of danger, or taking it head on. But as Bridget’s spell impacted and flew back to her he couldn’t help his elevated heartbeat. He was using everything he had at his disposal. Surely that wasn’t disappointing to anyone.

He was resolved not to let his thoughts muddy his performance. He was too far in for that now. Plus, this was fun. He was against some excellent duelists, they weren’t making things easy for Galton, so neither would he.

Action: Basking in the thrill

As the fog became a little more transparent, Opeila managed to get a glance at Bridget, in the exact moment that the older Slytherin's wand was ripped out of her grip.
Damn. Damn, damn, damn, where was the thing? Fogging the place, then hiding wands, what kind of cowardish play was thid?

For now, Opeila left the fog be, instead focused on Bridget as well as herself. "Reparifors!"

Bridget often went for more forceful spells, the ones that left your opponent reeling and bruised. They were the best way to wear someone down. But the thing was, they were in the second half of this duel and Galton was untouched. Their best bet was not to try to knock him out, rather to limit his ability to make up lost ground and steal their lead.

She went with Expelliarmus, which would do just that, keep him from those grand split spells for a little bit. Just instead of his wand clattering to the platform, hers did. He'd thrown up a shield, a smart move and not anticipated, so Bridget didn't dodge fast enough and her wand ended up somewhere behind her. It was a setback to be sure, but Opeila still had her wand and Bridget could count on her speed, her stamina; they would be fine.

Well, this round kind of felt null and void. Bridget's wand was returned to her by Opeila who cast a successful summoning charm. Galton's spell failed. The fog dissipated from the piste. Everything seemed to be back to normal. With only a few rounds left, Slytherin seemed to have the advantage.
