Quidditch Hufflepuff Vs. Gryffindor- Fall 2022

Howard pumped his fist into the air as he and his fellow Chasers scored four goals in the first round, yet that joy would come to a quick end. He winced as he watched three of team mates fall as Gryffindor lashed out against them. What they had gained in points had cost them in fliers! However, there was no time for despair in a game as quick as Quidditch. Howard signaled to his team and they prepared for the next round of action and the second string jumped into the fray.

There was one con to listening to a persin narrate a Quidditch match. You didnt know something was happening until it happened. Just as she had predicted, a sudden uproar of the Hufflepuffs could be heard. Her hairs sprung up on her arms, nearly making her jump off the bench. It was a good sort of cheer, a few goals for Hufflepuff is what she made out through the commotion of cheering. Quickly the noise died down, at least on the Hufflepuff side and more cheering filled the air, opposite side of the pitch. Crap what now?

Her question was quickly given an answer, but perhaps not a desired answer. One could say jt was raining badgers, perhaps some did actually say this. Not one, or two but three all plonked out of the sky and a shrill whistle was heard. Penalty laps. Serves them right. Her hands would grip the bench to either side of her, knuckles turning white. Quinn was a name that she heard as well as some fresh faces. Not the best start to a school sport, but if they really wanted it, they'd end up off their broom more times than on it as first strings. Muttering a little prayer, she'd grit her teeth waiting for the second match to begin. It was up to Howard now to make the plays, he had to be shaken up, this was a nasty first match. Doing all she could, the brunette raised her voice to the sky.

"C'mon badgers, shake it off! Don't loose hope, we can still do this!

The game was getting intense. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff were neck and neck, and Ethan was on the edge of his seat. He was rooting for Gryffindor, and as the game went on, he found himself getting more and more invested. He was cheering louder and louder, hoping that his team would come out on top.

─────Oh. Oh no. The sight of both first string beaters plummeting towards the pitch was the absolute last thing she had wanted to see, let alone mere moments into the game. The implications of that finally set in after a handful of seconds. Mouth still partially open from where she’d been prepared to make a comment to Alma before disaster struck on the field, the beater flashes the other girl a quick look of…alarm, shock, worry? She’s not entirely sure at this point. Probably all three. "G-good luck," she manages weakly. The first year finally orients herself enough to scramble atop her broom, taking off towards the field with bat in hand and her heartbeat pounding in her ears. This was fine.

Badgers fell left and right from the sky, and Alma watched incredulously as both Quinn and Rita went down. Avery gave her a strange look and Alma returned it with one of great worry. Well, I guess she’d be hoping Avery wouldn’t get hit up there. A dilemma was soon added to that thought as she watched Akemi plummet towards the pitch.

Alma shot up from her seat in shock, gasping loudly. She wanted to run over and make sure she was okay, but Akemi falling meant that Alma was in. With a deep, scared sigh, Alma did what she had been thinking about doing for the past few weeks. She quickly kicked her right leg first - a superstitious kind of “off-switch” for her brain. She was now focused on the game and the game only - no more worrying about getting hit or knocking people down now. Swinging her leg over the broom, she took off towards the field.

As Akemi fell from her broom, that's all she could think about. That was her main goal this entire time, and even as she fell, she couldn't help but have a stupid grin on her face, the wind rushing past her ears, canceling out all the noise around her.

This was going to hurt.

Serena let out a cheer at her and her fellow chasers being able to land four goals at the beginning of the match. But the joy didn't last long as Serena watched helplessly as three of her teammates went down. If only she could fly faster or do two things at once. But, there was no time to dwell on the what ifs now. The match was still going on and Serena needed to focus on bringing her team to victory. "We've got this, badgers!" She exclaimed, giving a short pep talk before making her next move.

I watched the Gryffindor players on the pitch, the chasers flying around trying to get the quaffle into the goal, the keeper trying to make sure Hufflepuff doesn't score, the Beaters hitting the bludger towards the opposition, and the seeker, trying to spot out the golden snitch on this dark night. I was disappointed I couldn't play, but in everything I would just be happy to see us win our first match of the season. I make sure I'm carefully watching the chasers on our team, since if something happens to one of them, I'm next in line. I see how they weave around players, and zoom past at a fast pace.

Luckily I remembered to bring my notebook with me today, I called it 'Everything Emma Needs To Know About Quidditch'. I know, cringe, but it's just something that I'm going to take notes in so I don't miss out on any tips or game plans. The roar of the crowd distracts me from my writing, but I don't mind it, instead, I just join in, "Wooh! Go GRYFFINDOR!!!"

Akari huffed to herself after her failed blatching attempt. She immediately began her penalty lap, not having to be told twice, her foul had been so blatantly obvious she did not even need to be told. She gripped the handle of her trusty broom as she urged it to go faster, the sooner she could finish the lap the sooner she could get back in the game.
