Akira couldn't help but let out a small smirk at Kamila's sassy comment about the other team being predictable. "Indeed," he would agree quietly in amusement, partly at her attitude, and partly at her words, which he believed to be quite true. Somehow, he found his pride grow with his successful strategy to dodge. How battered he would've been otherwise -- sustaining both a Knockback Jinx and a Fire-Making Spell if he hadn't.
They both took the opportunity to pounce on Miss Barlowe when she was knocked down. The pair simply did not allow any mercy on the dueling floor. However, Akira was disappointed that his spell missed, likely due to his searing and distracting headache, which had only gotten worse this round. But, he was satisfied nonetheless that they had knocked one of their opponents out of the match.
Soon afterwards, he was relieved to find that his terrible cold was feeling much better. His throbbing headache had cleared, and his nose was able to breathe properly again without running like mad. He considered Miss Yavlinsky's question about how their competition was going. When he was Bogey'd, his mind didn't even have the capacity to keep score, but now that he was feeling better, he did some quick mental calculations.
"Ah, I'd gotten distracted," he began with a hint of an apology. "If we count the number of feats that we each performed, I believe we're tied, since you have 2 hits and 1 critical hit, and I have 1 hit and 2 dodges, giving us three successes each. Would that be a fair method of calculating things?" Perhaps Kamila would argue that he had gotten hit many more times than she had, and that he deserved to get points taken away, which would be quite clever. But he specifically did not mention that as a possibility, as that would put him at a major disadvantage in the points so far. After all, they couldn't control who the other team cast at, could they?

To be honest, Gem was starting to feel a bit discouraged. There had been fantastic spellwork on either side, yes, but the other team seemed to be gaining the upper hand quite fast. This notion was further proven when a knock-back jinx slammed Adelaide into the ground.
Gem yelped in surprise. "Are you all right?"
She narrowed her eyes at their opponents, and rolled up her sleeves, wand at the ready once more. The two of them might be at a disadvantage, but she was going to make sure they didn't go down without a fight.【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】

"Bye, bye Adelaide." Kamila whispered. It seemed some were just not meant to duel; Adelaide was one of them. Now Gemima would be all alone. Best case scenario!
"Good job with the calculations I do think that that would be a fair method for the competition." Kamila replied to Akira.

Every duel changed when somebody had to leave the battle. Now it was two-on-one, and Jake looked nervously at the duelists. It would be hard enough to face the International team two-on-two. He couldn't IMAGINE doing it one-on-one. He didn't know if Gem was nervous or not... she didn't really LOOK it... but he sure knew he would be.
But Gem was quick, and as Akira and Kamila got ready to cast, Gem looked ready to dodge. A tickling charm from Akira soared too far to the left, Gem moving out of the way just in time, and then Kamila's Dancing-Feet charm, only a moment later, was just far enough to the right that Gem could duck back. The Ravenclaw girl shot an Incendio at Akira, attempting to fight off the two-on-one attack, but with Gem having to be as defensive just to stay alive, Akira was able to see it coming and move out of the way.
Jake held his breath as he watched Gem move. She still had full strength, but you couldn't win a duel just by dodging, she was gonna have to hit them... but if she focused on attacking would she get hit first? It was gonna be an uphill battle, but he had seen duels turn around in surprising ways, and anything could happen. The duel was halfway over, and anything could still happen.

He sniffed in annoyance as his spell missed its mark. Not only did Miss Sable manage to evade his spell, but she also managed to evade Miss Yavlinsky's as well. Wasn't she a slippery one.
However, he somehow managed to dodge Miss Sable's own attack against him with a practiced side-step, watching through the corner of his eye as the spell shot past him. My, my, weren't the Ravenclaw girls having a good time shooting spells at the only boy on the floor? "Miss Sable, I see that your spells have mainly targeted just me. So, do you find me weak or intimidating?" he couldn't help pry a little with some amusement, partly just to see how his one remaining opponent would respond, like a predator playing with its prey.
"Miss Yavlinsky, it seems like I'm pulling ahead this round," he commented to his partner with a faint smile.

Now, there was her partner, "You are ahead, but if she," Kamila gestured to Gemima, "Does not start casting spells at me you'll be dead. Just a fact."

Gem glanced down at Adelaide, who didn’t appear to be moving. That jinx must have been more powerful than she had first thought.
Of course, that meant she was fighting on her own now. Gem had managed to just barely evade those last few attacks, but so had her opponents. Her own spellwork meant nothing if she couldn’t even hit her targets.
She took a deep breath, and steeled her resolve.
“Big talk for someone who couldn’t breathe a moment ago.” she shot back, all while winding up for another go at the pair.
Gem’s voice was calm and steady, but she hoped with all her might that the two wouldn’t pick up on how nervous she really was.【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】

Jake winced as the duelists started to shoot taunts at each other, but after the duel he had watched over with Alec and Dee, he felt he was prepared for anything. He could see what was happening though. Gemima was alone against two opponents, and they were beginning to feel victory within their grasp. That made them confident, and sometimes when people got confident that's when they started to smirk and show it. Jake wasn't so sure though...He had seen the way Gemima had dodged the last round, avoiding all the spells at once. And even though the odds were against her she didn't seem scared. She fired back some words just as well as spells, as Jake had to admire her courage.
The wands raised again, and he watched closely to see if Gem was going to be able to get out of the way again. She was fighting for all of Hogwarts after all. Kamila's dancing-feet spell soared too far to the left as Gemima dodged, and then her wand jutted out towards the only remaining boy - It seemed like Akira was right - he WAS being targeted. It was probably smart to try to weaken one opponent, when you were stuck against two...But as Gemima fired her own dancing-feet spell, she would suddenly feel the uncontrollable urge to laugh, getting worse by the second. Akira's Tickling Charm had hit its mark! Maybe it was moments like THAT that made her want to target him.
But Gemima had been quick, and Akira was just a moment too slow to avoid the spell that came HIS way. Soon his feet would begin to move out of control again, and though the boy began to dance, Jake had to think he probably didn't want to. Akira didn't really seem like the dancing type. No, that was DEFINITELY a dancing-feet spell. Little by little, Gemima was chipping away at the other team's armor, but could she keep being as quick and nimble while unable to stop her laughter? Her only hope seemed to be if maybe Akira would just dance himself into exhaustion (which Jake thought he maybe would, it did seem like he was doing a lot of dancing)
