So Ellie didn't know anyone either, seemed like Glen was in good company there. Someone knowledgable might've been able to explain or point things out, but this way it was probably more fun – as long as it was possible to tell the teams apart, which it hopefully would be.

There was almost nothing more boring than to get things at a game explained by a fanatic fan – that just led to information overload and resulted in one neither being able to pay proper attention to the introduction nor the game. A short-cut to zoning out more like. But since that wouldn't be the case here, Glenys was looking forward to puzzling things out with her new friend. (She hoped they'd be friends at least.) While she had some basic knowledge of Quidditch (hard to grow up in a part-Magical household and not be), she expected that to only get her so far.

For now, she followed Ellie up to the higher seats. “That makes sense. We can certainly try that. Seems to be less crowded yet, too. Better to talk, right?” The stands were actually less packed than Glenys would have expected but she supposed people would still be arriving for a while. Bit more risky than in a football game for example though, since Quidditch didn't exactly have a set run time. If you were very (un-)lucky, the game could technically be over in less than a minute, right? Or was the release of a snitch delayed? Huh. That wasn't something she had considered before.

“Who do you think will win?”, she asked Ellie curiously. “You said you didn't know anyone either, yeah, but any gut feelings or something? People often bet on stuff like that, right? Not that Glen knew enough for a bet, or had anything she could think to bet, but she was curious what Ellie thought nonetheless. “I mean, it feels a bit like we're obli-, uh, ob-li-ga-ted”, that was the word, right? “to root for Hogwarts, but...” Glenys shrugged. “I don't know.”

Woah. Going up for a better view had been a good idea. Looking over the pitch from this high made it look even more impressive in Glenys' opinion.

Decipio... Decipio...
Why did that sound so familiar? Seeing how the Gryffindor was focused on the game, it wasn't in excitement that the game was happening, she seemed more-so serious. Her notebook seemed to be her prize possession and she seemed to be writing in detail about every person that was playing. Why was that? Bloom wanted to think more on the subject, but couldn't help but to see how the young student was pushing to draw on her pad. Didn't he get the hint?

"I don't think she enjoys that," Bloom whispered, unsure if Evelynn would be able to hear her, but enough for Finnegan to hear her. Bloom was not sure what their relationship was, but she could tell there was probably some tension and it was happening because of that notebook of hers.

Quickly, a question, sounding like a reporter, came from Evelynn. THAT WAS IT! "You're a reporter for the Hogwarts Headliner, right? I knew I heard your last name from somewhere!" she said, smiling. Bloom read a couple of her articles, but never really made much use from it. But she wasn't going to tell Evelynn that.

"Um, I honestly don't interact with many people. This is a 'out of my comfort zone' kind of moment," she said, waving her hands to mean that the situation for her to sit with them at that moment. "But I would guess that the last name is not a popular one and might mean for some relationship, right?" she said, shrugging. Stavrou did not seem like a common last name like "Smith." So perhaps it would mean something for Decipio.

Bloom smiled at the small boy and back at Evelynn. What was he getting at? Why did he want her to be sick? "She seems fine to be honest. Maybe you're with fever?" she joked.

Ellie was thrilled that Glenys agreed about where they should go. She thought to herself that the fact that she pointed out that it was less crowded, and in a positive way, nearly solidified that they would make great friends. There was a slight overcast which made Ellie worried that it might rain. Her hair was already not cooperating and rain would certainly make it worse.

As they took their seats, Ellie took a good look at the stadium. The game hadn’t begun but she can’t imagine there were better seats than where they were at right now. She shared in the same sentiments as Glenys, it felt almost obligatory to think that Hogwarts would win.

Ellie gave it a good thought. “I don’t know much about it, but I have a feeling Hogwarts will win.” She had spent the time leading up to the camp getting a jumpstart on the reading for the school year. “Or at least I hope they do.”

She was a bit curious how the game would go. She was hoping to learn at least the basics of the game. “What do you know about the game? I imagine there is a ball of some sort and it has to go through those rings?” She said hesitantly trying not to sound completely uninformed. Hopefully, if she didn’t this could be a learning experience for the both of them.

Sitting down, Glen only hummed in response to Ellie choosing Hogwarts as the one to win. While she didn't comment on it out loud, she hoped for the same. But even if they didn't, as only an upcoming first year, Glenys didn't feel enough school pride yet to really care either way.

A ball of some sort indeed. Glenys nodded at Ellie's question. She truly hadn't expected to be the more knowledgeable of the two but it seemed that she was? Still, while her knowledge was far from extensive, she had heard her dad talk about games he had seen at school and listened to a conversation or two where he and papa playfully fought over which sport was better, Quidditch or football. Neither of them were that much of a fan if either but they had seemingly enjoyed squabbling over it.

"Four balls, actually, though only one has to go through the hoops. The, uh, quabble? No. Uh... Quaffle! That's it. That's what the one used to score goals is called. It's the biggest of the lot I think. There's two of the same smaller ones, which have only one purpose - knock players of their broom. Bit violent of you ask me but well, rugby is a thing too, so, not too surprising, I guess. Two of the players of each team are only there to deal with those balls.

"The smallest ball is tiny and ends the game if caught, which is why the, uh... Seeker? Seeking?, some say is the only thing that matters in the game. I don't know. Doesn't really make sense for the rest to exist if that was the case. 'Sides, there's at least one famous game where the loosing team caught that one and still lost so, really, that can't be it.

"Uhm. What else... anyway, the tiny ball is called a swi- ah, no, snitch. It's tiny and quick so it's really, really hard to see."
Somehow Glenys got the impression that her explanation wasn't entirely helpful. It was more difficult than she thought to explain something she herself only half understood.

"Ah!", Glenys exclaimed as she remembered that she should also explain the teams, maybe. "There are two teams with seven players each. A goal - or rather hoop - keeper, the seeking dude, the two dealing with the violent balls, and then three that are responsible for scoring goals."

Glenys hoped her messy explanation at least cleared things up a little bit. She winced slightly and gave Ellie an apologetic (sheepish) grin. "Honestly, I don't really know that much about this.", she admitted with a shrug. Really why did sports always have to have such convoluted rules? On the other hand, that's probably what made it interesting.

Still, Glenys much preferred to deal with random stripes of colour getting anywhere while she was painting than with having to deal with keeping the rules of such a game straight. Painting was far more relaxing then Quidditch could ever be. But to each their own.

That reminded her, it had been an unusually long while now since she'd had a chance to paint. She would have to remedy that soon. For now though, she would keep her attention on the Quidditch game and Ellie.

Ellie tried her hardest to keep up with Glenys’ explanation, but the reality was that she was a little confused. She smiled, “I’m sure it will start making sense once we start watching the game. Or we will just be more confused together”. She let out a small laugh.

She was actually thrilled that they both seem to have the same outlook on this. She was hoping this meant that they had similar interests in something else. Maybe they will be able to do other activities together. Ellie took another look around the stadium and there seemed to still be some prep work being done. They were waiting for the players to make their entrances, so Ellie thought it would be a good idea to get to know Glenys a little better.

“Are there any clubs you’re looking forward to in particular? Maybe we can join something together once the school year starts.” She was hoping Glenys would be interested in doing more things with her. Ellie felt very comfortable around her and the idea of joining a club was a little daunting. Ellie figured having Glenys would definitely help her feel better in social settings. She actually didn’t know all the clubs Hogwarts had to offer. Her mom had mentioned a few, but she was sure that there must’ve been changes over the years.

The rap of the knuckles would lead the boy to withdraw his hands, but it hardly seemed to deter him. There was no characteristic look of guilt upon his features, nor collection of his paws to fold neatly in his lap like a good child ought to have done. Cautious eyes lingered on the boy before lifting to peer past him to the other girl with the continued dialogue. It would be for long, however. The rustle of pages would be enough to pull her focus, gaze flicking back to the mischievous form of her seat mate.

A brow cocked, lips pursing with mixed amusement and annoyance. He was persistent, she would grant him that. Like a pup who had lost their favourite stick under the couch and was determined to reach it. A very very deliberate turn of her pen would precede the very pointed drop of its end onto the fluttering pages, effectively skewering them in place just as her sights daggered themselves to him. She would not deign to even respond to his absolutely preposterous notions of drawing on the other pages. And neither would she pull her gaze back to Silverton even as the upperclassman presented her renewed inquiries.

"Editor, actually.." Evelynn corrected, her tone even. "Although I do pick up columns now and again when I am able to respond with advice to those who have written in with questions, and to present the latest in fashion trends. Neither make use of my surname, however." Regrettably. Something she would have loved to have rectified if the brand hadn't already been developed. 'Etiquette with Decipio' just didn't quite have the same ring to it.

"You may have heard the name Decipio around the quidditch pitch, perhaps?" she inflected, just briefly glancing over to Bloom to gauge her reaction, a wary eye still maintaining itself periodically on the boy's antics. "We have played against each other in the past." Well.. that was a bit of a generosity. The memory was a bit blurred from having transpired quite some time ago, but as she recalled, Bloom had not actually left the bench.

Not to linger on the notion, however, she would cast her gaze back towards the pitch. The Ravenclaw team had finally starting filtering into the field, and once again, Evelynn's pen would find itself righted, ink already scribbling across the page. This time, the speed was a great deal faster. The fastidious might even recognize that names were being jotted down before the announcer had announced, a clear demonstration of previous familiarity. Now and then, the omnioculars would lift to her eyes, just long enough to detail the make of a broom, or identify a face.

"Well, there is always the opportunity to break free from the bonds that have historically kept you in the shadows," came the remark, one that was perhaps a touch more philosophical than the moment necessitated given her preoccupation with the pitch. The mention of the surname would give her pause for a moment, gaze casting back to the foreign team's line-up. "That is what I am wondering, yes. Stavrou is not a common name. Not here, at the very least.."

But she would get little more thought on that. Motion on the pitch would pull her full focus, the players mounting and forming into position in preparation for the first toss. A certain air befell the auburn-haired prefect, then, lids narrowing with a practiced scrutiny, pen poised for the writing. There was a period of calm that would descend then, the white-noise of the rain pattering against her wide-brimmed umbrella serving as an excellent drone to muffle out the background noise and hone her focus on the moment. Silence. Breaths baited for the toss...

"It is starting." If the boy beside her did not refocus his attention where it ought to have been when she spoke, she would do so for him, fingers lifting themselves to his skull to manually turn his face. "Pay attention."

At the blow of the whistle, the pitch would explode with a bur of motion. Players would scatter to every direction. And not a single one of them would go for the quaffle. This was not entirely unusual for the Ravenclaw team, but she certainly couldn't say it was an expected approach either.

"Watch for Moussa. Blue number 29." Immediately, habitually, her gaze had honed in on three specific individuals. Moussa, she had little doubt would be racing to take control of a bludger to send it careening towards one of the foreign players. "He will race for the bludger. Likely send it to the--" Seeker, likely. It is what she would have done. To test their speed and awareness. "--yes, there it goes. He is attempting to take out Valentin," she confirmed tracking the path with her omnioculars.

In a gesture of generosity, she would pass them then to Conner to take a peek should he desire. The bludger wouldn't make it, though, not quite. "It appears the Durmstrang-Koldovsterotz team is playing defensively," she noted, jotting down a few notes to the page. "Do you see Smith there? The blonde beater? He is defending the white seeker, Schnell. He has drawn the bludger away quite nicely, actually." Credit where it was due. "And there is White, the other Ravenclaw--" She would cut herself off as the announcements occurred. They would reflect exactly what she was about to say.

Besides, there was something more interesting that had caught her attention. Or rather... the decided lack of something interesting had demanded her assessment. One way or another, the omnioculars would find themselves back in her grip, even if it meant a not quite so gentle prying of them from the boy's fingers. Cloven and Quinn were missing. Well... not missing, per se. But it was well known that the two were known to explode from the gait like balls from a canon, their aims striking true to blatch high-priority targets from their brooms. But here they were, flying idly. Almost aimlessly. No quaffle grab. No blatch. ... nothing.

"What are they doing..." Evelynn wondered, brows furrowing. Something unsettled itself in her gut. They were up to something; of that, she was absolutely certain. And something gave her the feeling that she would be less than impressed with the motive. "Keep a close watch on Cloven and Quinn," she directed the young Mister Conner, passing him back the omnioculars as she busied herself with a few more notes and swept her gaze over the rest of the action. In truth, there wasn't a significant amount of excitement. No points would be had from quaffle scoring. But several bodies would fly from their brooms, as was typical for the game. In fact, despite having two members forecd to take a penalty in short succession, the foreign team seemed to be relatively well situated.

"Unfortunate.." The click of her tongue against the back of her teeth would be muffled slightly, the action followed by movement of her tongue inside her mouth to adjust the position of the leaf she had pocketed between gum and cheeks. "That was Quinn that Ravenclaw just lost," she reiterated to the boy. "That was their captain, and their best chaser. That is a devastating early blow against Ravenclaw."

But it did mean that Harper would now be in the game, something that did not often occur. Evelynn could not help but be curious as to how the girl would perform, especially under pressure such as this. Ever since receiving a rather unexpected invitation to her birthday party, the lioness had felt a certain affinity towards her, drawn to pay closer attention when the opportunity presented itself. And it had presented itself.

With Evelynn's attention turning away towards the offer of some chocolate, Aurelia became quiet, with Falentra maintaining the same silent atmosphere between them as they waited for the game to start. Lysander's amorous little gesture of a wink her way elicited a dizzy up turn of the corner of her lips. The conversation with derision towards her boyfriend didn't go unheard. Knowing Lysander's wink her's and only hers - not in any way, the fans they claimed, she'd let them assume whatever they wanted.

Did Falentra know? Aurelia doubted. It was about time her Slytherin friend got a little update, news of hers to flaunt. "That is Lysander Stavrou. He and I, got together shortly after the ball in April. Admit it, he is hot, isn't he?" Leaning towards the tall raven-haired x, she chuckled. An elbow hooked onto Fal's arm in a perfect picture of two teenage girls talking about boys. "My boyfriend is also cousin to the Headliner's editor-in-chief you dislike so much. I should introduce you to him sometime. " Aurelia could help but noticed the other good-looking lad with Lysander looking up her way and conversing - as she was with Falentra on her boyfriend. Another smile and wiggle of her fingers in a wordless, 'hello' in response. Friend of Lysander, she'd assume.

"Don't know who that one is." Aurelia muttered as the game finally began. Her eyes were still on Lysander as he flew up, taking the side of Durmstrang's seeker, a white-haired boy that may as well be the male version of a girl she was acquainted with, Aida. It seemed the Durmstrang opted for more aggressive tactics, earning two chasers a penalty lap due. She expected nothing less from a school like Durmstrang. But was Lysander one for foulplay or would he go for the quaffle now that both his quaffle-attaining partners were off a round? She didn't like him protecting the seeker, harm was to come inevitably. Perhaps some encouragement would do. "Go Durmstrang! Take those Ravenclaws down!" Aggressively, she hollered. Undoubtedly an offence for the Ravenclaw near them: Bloom.

Confused together sounded spot on. It also told Glenys that her explanation had indeed not been very helpful. Oh well. Maybe trying to explain as the game was happening would be easier? On the plus side, Ellie did not seem to mind.

“Clubs?”, Glen echoed thoughtfully. She hadn't really considered that before. She knew there were Quidditch teams – rather obviously considering what they were currently attending – but clubs? She didn't know any about that. Well, there seemed to be a duelling club or something, there was to be a duelling tournament after all. But other than that...
There certainly wouldn't be an IT club, like the one her papa had been part of when he went to school. She wasn't sure a magic school would offer a science club. She wasn't even sure what kind of clubs a Muggle school would offer, let alone Hogwarts.

“Do you know anything about the clubs at Hogwarts? I have no idea what there is – aside from Quidditch and like duelling. Are you interested in anything specific? If there's a painting one, I'd join that maybe. I don't know yet. But we can absolutely look into joining one together. Would be great to know someone.”

Maybe not a painting one, actually. Now that she thought about it, Glen hadn't like having to paint during class at primary school. That had always been a bit too... specific. Controlled. Glenys didn't like painting when she had to follow specific guidelines or use, like, only pencil. Not colour pencils, just a pencil. Sure, black and white could be interesting, maaaaaybe, but painting something mon-o-chro-ma-tic got old real quick. Ugh.

As she was talking with Ellie, Glen noticed that it seemed like the first players were beginning to arrive. Definitely would need to invest in binoculars if she was going to do this more often, she thought as she tried to make out details. Her eyesight wasn't bad, far from it, but it was still quite a distance, and the light rain did not help matters.

(The rain had also temporarily deprived her of her little companion. Glenys hadn't been pleased about it, but she had tried to find out more about Pebble's kind, and apparently disappearing into the rain was something normal for Mist Hoppers, and he should reappear on his own later. She could not help but worry about him running around summer camp on his own though. Then again, from what she read, Pebble should not actually be alone but in the company of other Mist Hoppers, if anyone else had brought one to camp or if there were any wild ones around.)

It started to lightly drizzle. Ellie had hoped that that would be the worst of it because she forgot her umbrella back at the tent. She’s always prepared but was so anxious to go to a surely crowded event that it slipped her mind. She thought about what Glen had said. Hmm…painting. I don’t have a creative bone in my body. But, she was willing to explore the options.

“I had signed up for the Wolf-Mutiny game in a couple of days and they had mentioned that they would start a club up in the fall. Depending on how that goes, I would definitely love to join. I enjoy mysteries. As for a painting club, I’m sure there must be something, just not so sure I’m creative enough for one” She smiled hoping it didn’t come off as she was unwilling to join.

Before she had the opportunity to get deep into her thoughts, there was a loud announcement. The games were about to begin and they were starting with introductions. “It looks like the game is about to start, I’m sure we will have plenty of time to talk clubs back at the tent.” She hadn’t realized that the Hogwarts team would consist of only Ravenclaw players. Even though, of course, it would make sense that one house would play first since those are the teammates they are most comfortable with.

From what she can remember when her mom described the houses, it seemed like she fit with Ravenclaw, even though her mom herself was a Gryffindor. “Oh, they are introducing the players.” Ellie tried her best to get familiar with the positions. It sounded like there were 4 of them: seeker, keeper, chaser, and beater. As they entered, it looked like the players knew the other team or at least had a lot to say to them. It was hard to make out the conversations, but the energy gave off the impression they were in for an interesting game.

“Looks like they are really fired up. I have a good feeling about the game. Although I might get a little queasy, if there are a lot of injuries.”

She didn’t really think she will ever get into sports, but there was definitely something impressive about these players being about to fly and coordinate with the team to complete the objective. She could appreciate the vast amount of skill behind it. She sat in awe, actually more invested than she ever thought she would be.

Bubba was fashionably late, mainly because he hadn't even known he was coming to watch the match until they were introducing the players. Bubba had woken up, dressed, hastily gotten some breakfast, eaten said breakfast, and then realized he had absolutely no idea what he was going to do with himself. He had no camp activities that day but he wanted to do something. As he left the dining area, he heard a couple of people talking about the impending quidditch match between his own Ravenclaw team and the combined forces of Durmstrang and Koldovstoretz. That decided it for him, he would happily watch his Eagles beat up on some other people he didn't know and probably wouldn't ever see again after summer camp. Sounded like a fun time to be sure.

Bubba checked his watch, it was already 8:55 and the match started at 9:00. He looked down at what he was wearing and decided this simply would not do. He had to represent his house proudly and properly. He went back to his tent and hastily changed. He settled for a polo that was Ravenclaw blue (it had been a less awesome shadow of blue but George had made it the proper color for him). He kept his tan cargo short and ruby slippers (red trainers) on. He figured it'd also be a good idea to keep the rain off his head so he grabbed his Red Sox hat and put it on.

He set out for the stadium and managed to find his way into the seats by the time they were doing the player introductions. He hadn't really paid attention to where he was going, he just wanted to get in as quickly as possible and grab a seat before the game started. He turned into a section and started walking down a row of seats. He looked out onto the pitch and saw his fellow Ravenclaws being introduced. As he turned back to see where he was going he came about half a foot short of walking straight into someone. He stopped and took a step back before giving a quick, "Sorry." He then went slightly pink, for reasons unbeknownst to him entirely, when he saw who he'd nearly walked into. It was Greta, the non-spice-handling Durmstrang girl from the cookout. His mind then immediately raced to the little 'message' he left in her diary during the prank wars. After that his mind immediately decided to transition to the trail of glitter he left back to his tent after he set off his own glitterbomb. His face felt so warm he was surprised the rain falling on it didn't evaporate as soon as it made contact. Trying to think about literally anything else he looked up and saw what could be charitably called a Durmstrang 'banner'. He did hope if any fellow 'Claws saw him standing under it they wouldn't take it personally. Standing next to Greta was a boy he didn't know that (to him at least) looked enormous. He was quite glad not to have walked into him.

What he wanted to do was get the hell out of there and get to any other section, he'd even take the nose bleeds. Did the London Quidditch Stadium have Monster Seats? He then realized that if he ran the other way that would be way too obvious. "Err... good morning." He quietly said to Greta to try and cover off his building embarrassment, it was not lost on him that she looked quite nice in her green and yellow dress with her hair in braids behind her. At that moment he wished he already knew how to apparate so he could go somewhere, literally anywhere else. Antarctica sounded nice, he didn't think the penguins would judge him too harshly. Bubba decided the best course of action would be to take another step away and look straight out over the field, try to get the redness out of his face, and do his very best to forget what just happened. Although he wouldn't have bet the house on it.
