Judith was feeling very confident about the race, everything felt good. The wind on her face felt rather calming instead of cold our stressing. Being outside always had made her feel good.

As she continued her race she saw the waterfall in front of her, she tried to tighten her on her broom, but suddenly she felt less strong and confident then before. As she flies through the waterfall, she slowly loses her grip and falls of her broom, not knowing what will happen next.

Hugh's rock had landed, that was all that mattered. He barely recalled the way he managed to swoop down and pick up the smallest of boulders and launch it forward like a catapult would. Bloom screamed at him in agitation, she'd live in the end. It had all grown to be part of the game now.

Back in his quidditch days, he might have objected to such actions, but the world only grew harder with each sun rising. And sports like these were as good a place as any to get some stress relief.

Pushing on, he noticed several of his teammates dropping from the sky. It seemed this storm had it out for them after all. If only one of them managed to ride it instead of fight it. Then again, the Ravens were a clever team. They did well to not underestimate them after surviving one win with this team.

Ouch. That was the biggest ouch of all the ouches. Ari fell hard, the wind getting knocked out of his chest on impact. He panicked because he couldn't breathe for a minute, but was eventually able to get some air into his lungs. He stumbled to his feet, finding his broom and hopping back on.

So far...not so good.

Levi Drakos has been banned. I will be posting as an NPC (same stats) in his place. We are not penalizing Gryffindor for their choices.

Spring Races Broom Race Ravenclaw v Gryffindor
RAVENCLAW v GRYFFINDOR
ROUND THREE
Between the waterfall and the boggart, it appeared that many racers were having some difficulty advancing to the open field portion of the race. With so many critters crawling about the track, it was only natural that the racers be distracted by the various creatures some way or another. Some still had to deal with the boggart whilst in the waterfall, while others would soon stumble upon a far more pesky issue...
UNIT SEVEN
Hugh Lowe begins his round here.
UNIT EIGHT
Having taken the previous round to toss a rock at Bloom, Hugh would once again attempt to hit the Ravenclaw fifth year with yet another rock. A sizeable projectile caught his eye and he smoothly dipped down to the ground to scoop up his weapon of choice before pressuring onward.

Hugh ends his turn here.
Ever the tall and dashing lad, Hugh's eyes narrowed as his gaze locked in on his target. Apparently chivalry was, in fact, dead, at least when it came to Hugh and his attitude toward the wonderful and talented women on the Ravenclaw Racing team. If anything was to be taken away from this race, it was that Hugh was likely better off pitching for Major League Baseball than wobbling around on a broom in Scotland. Bloom's slow and calculated movement through the air allowed Hugh a chance to get his aim just right, delivering another decisive blow with another rock to Bloom's slowly retreating figure.
UNIT TEN
Della [KOB], Xailah [KOB], Nicholas, Levi [KOB], Ari [KOB], Clair, Judith [KOB], and Lin begin their rounds here.

Xailah, Della, Levi, and Judith remount their brooms.
Cartoons were absolutely right: waterfalls were possibly the most dangerous thing a young child could ever come across in the wild. Many racers from both teams alike had fallen from their brooms into the pool of water at the base of the waterfall, now fully waterlogged and looking a little wetter for wear, so to speak. Additionally, the boggart hiding in the narrow passage just beyond the showers of the waterfall had followed its previous victim out of the aforementioned passage, and now it had a whole feast of students to choose to terrorize. The newest Gryffindor co-captain caught its attention, and the boggart drifted closer to Della, seemingly entranced by her silvery locks. However, whatever Della would see the boggart as, she would be able to shake off; after all, there were greater things at stake, like the outcome of this race.

Many of the swimming racers would locate and remount their respective brooms with ease. Xailah, lamenting Levi's literally backward approach to winning the race, would easily find her broom after making sure her co-captain was alright. Della, who ain't 'fraid of no ghost, also found her broom, and Levi would locate his own broom as well. Judith would hastily mount her broom to attempt to get out of the watery lion's den, but her co-captain Ari was seemingly baffled and bewildered by the boggart. He would stay motionless in the pool of water, hand half outstretched in the direction of his broom.

In a move more often seen in Quidditch than Broom Racing, Clair grabbed Lin's arms, and after a few slightly awkward rotations, she launched Lin through the stone passageway with as much force as she could. With the boggart now gone from its original home of a crevice in the passage's wall, Nicholas and Lin both had a fairly easy time speeding away from their swimming teammates and the unfriendly ghost.
UNIT TWELVE
Bloom begins round here.
However, as one curious problem was left behind in the dust, another (or eight) lay ahead. Bloom, Lin, and Nicholas all forged on ahead, ready to face the strange buzzing sound they heard as they continued further along the track.

As the three racers approached, they would soon find the sources of the odd chittering and buzzing noises they'd been hearing. Doxies, eight of them spread out across the next few meters, eyeing the approaching racers with a hungry, predatory glint in their beady little eyes. Two of them immediately darted toward Lin, one of them biting her ferociously. The other was swatted away by her as she sped away rather groggily. She would feel a bit... lighter, a bit woozier. However, she would continue to press on. The other two doxies went to go bite Bloom, but the fifth year was flying carefully and thoughtfully and skrrted her way out of that potentially nasty situation.

And while it seemed that Nicholas would be speeding by this first cluster of doxies unscathed, that wasn't entirely the case. Seeing the young upstart speed on by her, Bloom readied her wand and fired off a Slowing Charm at the retreating captain's back. He would feel the tug of the charm begin to take hold, and flying forward seemed to be more difficult than it normally would.

While Bloom had slowed down and was now behind them, Nicholas and Lin pressed on into swarm of doxies. Two would immediately be drawn to Nick's incredibly mediocre looks, and the other two would inspect Lin with hungry curiosity. Having just had to navigate two other doxies, Lin seemed a bit overwhelmed with the increased number of pests and was bitten by both doxies, while Nicholas would clearly be feeling the effects of the Slowing Charm setting in as he found it nearly impossible to evade the quick-flying pests. However, both racers would press on past the blue creatures, breaking through the swarm. They both continued onward, with Lin using the momentum that Clair had given her earlier to eek past Nicholas (see below).

Judith had fallen all the way down into the water. For the first time in her live, Judith was extremely relieved that she had taken swimming lessons for 4 years. She swims to the surface, looking around for her broom, and there it was, her silver arrow, only a few meters away from her. She crowled towards it, swimming then back to the land out of the water.

She tries to shake as much water out of her robes as possible, and immediately jumps onto her broom, heading in the skies, hoping she could still make up for the fool blunder she had just made. As she flies in the air, she looks around, hoping that her other teammates would be doing fine as well.

it's not everyday that you get to fling people, and if Clair had the chance, she wanted to try flinging someone. well today she had that chance. flinging Lin had seemed to work, of course she had no idea what lay ahead, but she would hopefully find out, in a not very painful way.

And Ari fell again.
He felt dizzy once he mounted his broom, and he lost his balance and fell into the water below once again. Perhaps he had stood up too quickly? Either way, he'd blame it all on a rush of blood to the head.
He huffed in frustration and got back on his broom, waiting for a moment to make sure he was stable.

Breathe. You got this. Just Breathe. Bloom could feel herself getting weak, but she wasn't going to give up. She was going to push as much as she could from unit 12 and beyond. Bloom focused on what the next unit was to be.

She saw... Doxies. Bloom raised her wand and conducted the slow charm, slowing the doxies. She carefully went around the Doxies, not wanting to touch one by accident. As she was carefully, but quickly, going around, she realized that she lost her speed. There were other players that went ahead of her: Nick and Lin. Luckily, though, it was Lin that was making it the furthest. "Go Lin, go!" she shouted, knowing full-well that the Ravenclaw wouldn't be able to hear her from how far she was.

Bloom just knew she had to keep going. Keeping her breathing steady and focusing as much as she could, she held onto her broom tightly and tried to keep herself going.

Cat's Grace || Blindvision
Xailah's eyes flickered with a gentle gleam, having noticed Della's thanks, and the faint, rosy flush that crept over the porcelain girl's cheeks. She nodded in affirmation when Della returned her concern. "Quite." Xailah narrowed her gaze cattishly, smiling with her eyes. The exchange between co-captain and crewmate was fleeting. Their concern for each other was quickly veered towards a seemingly lost teammate.

When Levi had appeared unexpectedly; a confused Della tried her best to aid the boy, and redirect him. The other way! She had cried, her finger showing him in the direction he should have been traveling. The child's efforts, while endearing in a way, fell short, and did not seem to help Levi straighten out. He would slip too, and fall down, down, down. Like a stone, he splashed, and sank. Della was much more concerned- and forgiving with the matter- than Xailah was. "If he doesn't have a good excuse for whatever that was, I'm going to throttle him when we get back to the locker room." The elder lioness muttered under her breath, her tone and visage ominously inexpressive. There was no real way of telling if the threat was an empty one. Maybe Drakos was going to wish the fall had killed him. Xailah couldn't remain bitterly confused with the boy for very long; any bubbling feelings of frustration eventually fled.

Something else beckoned for the prefects attention- something that made her hair bristle, and skin prickle with gooseflesh. Levi, and his little stunt, was forgotten. Uncertainty traced it's cold finger down the length of the darkling's back. Quiet, quiet, something is wrong. She silenced her thoughts. Tuned in, to the echo of water hitting slick stone. Feline eyes swept across the scene, cautiously. Xailah straightened slightly, as if trying to make herself appear larger. It was subconscious animal instinct. Something was suddenly very off. She didn't know how, or why, she just sensed that now was the time to leave. The air felt unnatural.

Mounting her broom, she spoke: "Quickly now." The words were hushed and hasty. Whisper-like. They hung in the damp air, like a thin mist. Xailah turned and ushered to Della, like a hen waving her baby under a wing. They had some ground to cover, best not to stay around for longer than needed. Taking to the sky, Xailah spilled from the waterfalls mouth; placing her back into the rain. Although her sights were set on what lay ahead, she had spared a glance back towards the curtain of water; perhaps to get a glimpse of what may have been lingering beneath the falls with the rest of the racers.
