Battle Royale Quidditch Match

John Smith the Fill in NPC
This was John Smith's first time playing in an actual, live Quidditch Game. He was not only excited, he was absolutely terrified. Sure, he knew how to fly a broom and he knew all the rules for the game but that did not make the youth feel any better about his debut. Four school three teams. Things got chaotic with just two teams in play, coupled with the lack of cohesiveness on the part of Wixes United as they were slapped together over the course of a few hours, he was not entirely certain he knew his teammates names.

Still, he really liked to fly. There was something about the air, it was cooler and crisper in the air. The roar of the crowd exhilarated him. The safety of the bench, yes the bench, called him. He was a second-string Beater. Someone that would hopefully never have to play, just watch from one of the best seats on the pitch. The security of not having to actually play left him feeling safe as well as a bit relieved. So he would round the perimeter of the pitch, his hand raised as he gave his best Miss America wave to the cheering crowd. Then it was off to the bench, he would keep that bench so warm that his team would celebrate his bench warming skill.

It was if nothing else.... a day. There is a time after every tragedy where someone feels numb, this sense of derealization as they come to terms with the fact that they had just suffered enormous loss. This game would prove to be bitter-sweet. An opportunity to play with friends and freshly minted rivals, it also served as a distraction for those that languished in a sea of mental torment. Cruelty and ambition had stolen their friends but time did not stop for any of them, they were not given the opportunity to mourn and they were being pushed to live on.

As the students for Hydra flew about the perimeter of the pitch, evidence of their emotional debility would be apparent. A number of the children intended to show never would, Nikolai Dragov (@Adonis Thorn) of Team Hydra, placing a team that was already down by one as their second string chaser had never come to the game they would be left two short. Hardly sporting compared to the other teams, the Headmaster would frown slightly as he watched the team round the pitch.

There were plenty of capable students that should be able to play in the stands he reasoned. A truth, he would make a motion with his wrist to summon (non-magically) despite the flair that a magical summon might have had, the show was about the kids. The Ilvermorny Headmaster whispered something into the older man's ear, many would recognize the older man as Solomon Lear the somewhat reclusive Headmaster of Hogwarts. Since his disappearance two years ago and his subsequent recovery nearly a year later, he had not seemed 'right'. Perhaps even a little bit mad, but in a harmless sort of way.

As Wixes United made their way onto the pitch, Headmaster Plott would watch the full compliment of students fly on past. At least all of them showed (submitted their stats), but they were one short.When making this Frankenstein of teams, there were three students whom served as Keepers which created a rather unusual role - that of third string Keeper. To keep things fair they were starting a second-string short.

The third and final team was the Gryffindor Quidditch Team, the home team and obvious favorite would emerge and start to fly around the pitch. A full team, if they were short a few then there would not have been a need to seek a few extra players for Hydra. The full roster would make their way around the pitch. The cheer of their classmates and the polite waves and gentle smiles of the students started to shift the mood.

Good, the distraction was working.

Several minutes later, as the teams settled into their places onto the field Solomon would amble back onto the pitch. Slow and deliberate movements, there was evidence for those that paid close attention of some sort of injury that effected his gait. A quiet exchange would pique the curiosity of some but the answers would come shortly thereafter.

"Attention!" a loud voice would boom. "Due to the unevenness of the teams," a pair of no-shows" last minute drop outs and a non-poster (stats) really "we pulled a pair of stand ins."

Note: Nikolai Dragov (Adonis Thorn) was removed from the roster for not submitting stats. A very late withdrawal has also left Team Hydra down multiple players. They have 2 NPCs filling in for the roles of Second String Beater and Second String Chaser. Arjan Oberoi (Serena Towers) would be a first String Beater because of this transition.

Enrique Antonio Vasquez-Perez was always ready. Everything he did was done to hone his perfect body and mind. And that was where Mr. Lear had found him - flexing in front of a mirror. His name should have been 'Adonis' so it was rather fitting he would serve as one with such a name. His adoring crowd needed him, yes the ever beautiful, strong, skilled youth (Picture above being accurate).

Stats:
8 across the board, Fearless and Sixth Sense.

He would wiz around the pitch with incredible ease, rather certain most of the chicks were swooning over him. "Ladies... Ladies... there is plenty of me to go around" he would mouth to his, yes his adoring crowd. Of course he would have to wait his turn, Second String Beater hardly considered his skill as he should have been a headliner but there would not have been enough time to move him out front.

He would take a seat on the bench, lace his fingers behind his head and lean back. Time to watch the show, soon enough it will be time to BE the show.

Remmington Davis was minding their own business, planning to hex that annoying Professor when they were caught. Everything would have went to plan had it not been for those meddlesome kids, yes Prefects. They just trundled in and ruined their perfectly fine ritual to remind them of the 'rules.' Like seriously!

Providence would take over -- it is not true what they say about doing the crime, doing the time. Dragged over to Headmaster Lear, their stuff confiscated the expectation would be a grounding to their dorm or detention but rather than either they were dragged to the Quidditch Pitch and shoved onto the field with school broom.

A badly written scenario really about how and why they were there. They had never played quidditch in their whole life. Still, they knew how to fly, they vaguely knew what a quaffle was. They would comply and get out of detention.

They would make their way around the pitch and then find a seat on the bench. Second String Chaser, there was a good chance that they would not even have to endure playing.

The three seekers would scan the pitch. The glint of the golden snitch was near imperceivable, the Keen Eyes of The Niffler and Evelynn Decipito would strain but they would see nothing. Thy had come close, if it was not for the incredibly interesting/attractive presence of a few of their opponents, the Niffler would have sniffed out what glittered and was gold.

A skirmish to grab the quaffle would be a rush for a trio -- Alan Vanes, Rafael D'Spacito and Lucietta Adaleigh Thea Mahler (Everly Charlton). Two from Hogwarts and one from Wixed United, it would appear that Hyrda was not playing the Quaffle game. Hopefully this decision works out well for them.

A zip, a zag. Luka would dart side to side, a fake-out and a wild dive to block the rings. The Quaffle would brush past the ends of his fingertips and traverse the rings. "First score for Hogwarts!" The announcer cried. Cheers would erupt throughout the stadium.

The second skirish would be as messy as the last, this time Rafael would snag the quaffle and rush back towards the Wixes rings a second time. The crowd would scream the Captain's name as he rushed the goal.

Rafael might have been overconfident after Vane's success. He would attempt to hurl the quaffle through the rings but Luka would block the rings with his body in a sufficiently dramatic fashion. He hardly looked like the type to be so... physical and the crowd would burst out in applause.

Again they would scramble for the quaffle. Rafael would break away with the quaffle a second time. He would not face off again against Luka, there was a set of rings that were undefended -- Hydra's rings were utterly undefended. It was an easy score for the Chaser and he lobbed the quaffle through the rings.

Hogwarts had taken an early lead in the game, but would they be able to hold on?

Hydra and Wixes United were playing a more aggressive game it would appear. A trio of students from Hydra were making an early, dangerous play for Hogwart's star beater Griseldis Edelhardt. A typical V-pattern would be formed by Charles Alluring (Henry Knight), Nikita Lebedev (Paige Grant) and Madhup Hexum (Pericles Dralt) was at the center. A rather known and visual play known as Parkin's Pincer, a foul named after the original members of the Wigtown Wanderers, who are reputed to have invented this move. In this foul two players (Nikita and Charles) close in on an opposing player, while the third (Madhup) flies headlong towards him or her, blatching the target (Griseldis).

Something would go wrong early on as Charles was distracted by an ominous notion (terrible presence) that seemed to pervade the pitch. He would fall back, lose formation. Madhap and Nikita kept form and rushed the beater.

Griseldis was able to partially evade, as in she was not trapped between Nikita and Charles both. She would try to veer sharply to the left, to avoid the impending blow that she could see coming but she was T-boned by Madhap.



It was a foul, there was a mixture of reactions from the crowd -- some jeers as well as cheers. "A foul for Hydra!" Plott would declare as he pointed a ringed finger at Madhup Hexum. She would be rocked off her broom, she might try to hold on but she would lose her grip and she would start to plummet to the grassy floor.



Nobody was on lifeguard duty, the Beater would not be saved. A rapid, possibly cartoonishly whistling fall would end abruptly with an unceremonious *thud*. A brief moment of awkward silence, a team of house elves would quickly recover the fallen, unconscious young girl.

The bludgers would bounce around the pitch, the crack of bats defending the three teams would resonate throughout the pitch. Arjan Oberoi (Serena Towers) would target Gryffindor's Beater Scarlet Aden. Hogwart's was the obvious top threat, both teams seemed to focus on the defensive first line of the home team.

The crack of the beater's bat would herald Scarlet's destruction.

It hurt. It felt like being hit with a castle tower that was unrooted by a giant and then swung down onto her head. Gaston Arjan was a damn powerhouse. A few ladies (and dudes) in the stands swooned, how could they not?



Scarlett would not be saved by none other than @Anastasia Beckett. The girl had to choose between Griseldis and Scarlett. What the girl had on her was anybody's guess but she would dive towards the pitch at breakneck speeds and grabbed hold of the falling Seeker.

Milo was no exception to the pattern of targeting Gryffindor. He would find a bludger and launch it in Evelynn's direction. The bludger would hit the seasoned Seeker hard in the side.

She was hit so hard that the world would spin about her. She would almost loose her grip on the broom but she would not start to fall. The wind would rush past her and she would regain equilibrium after a few rocky moments.

Griseldis was dang terrifying, there was a reason she was targeted by three, yes THREE players to ensure that her reign of terror would be brief. She would hit that bludger with her meaty, buff arms. She was trying to annihilate the Durmstrang albino. Albinos were known for their feeble debility but they would receive no mercy from the girl.

Only, the Niffler's teammates had this on lockdown. Vyacheslav "Slava" Aleksandrovich Preobrazhensky (Ruby Cazares) would be the Niffler's stalwart defender. She would have been hit hard by Griseldis' powerful attack had she not wheeled out of the way the very last moment as Niffler flew off safely.

Marvelous Merlin, Slava was insistent. They were dedicated to the protection of their Seeker. A sudden, jarring turn of the broom, the two of them would rush back to the Niffler's side. The Niffler was still in danger, this time Scarlet Aden another dangerous and powerful beater famed for her might would attempt to end the pale Seeker's career.

This time Ruby would not avoid the blow to her body. The bludger would hit her in the small of her back, she would feel the electric-like pain shoot through her body. Her hands would grip onto the broom and she would start with a nosedive. A temporary loss of control, she would recover with a throbbing pain in the center of her back.

He was just happy to be there. That is until he saw war. Indeed, this was what happens to good men when they go to war. The utter brutality of it all. He watched with a slack jaw as if this was the first time he had ever seen a Quidditch Match. Oddly enough this was somewhat mild in comparison to the professional version of the sport.

He would look to the bench warmers to either said and let out a nervous laugh. "I am not real sure I wanna go out there..."[/color] he admitted now wary of this foolish and dangerous decision. Weren't girls supposed to be dainty, soft things. He cringed as he saw and mentally heart the grunt of exertion from one of the lady beaters as she batted a quaffle in the direction of the opponent team.

Merlin, I am really going to die!

This really was his favorite part of this game. nobody came to watch the game, they came to watch the failure, the fall, the break from grace. Where the boy to his left visibly cringed, a real soft girly man he was, Enrique Antonio Vasquez-Perez let out a small chuckle. He did not mind seeing his own team assailed either, it just meant that he was going to get to play sooner rather than later. "Dude, this is the best part," Enrique claimed with a casual aire that seemed less than fitting considering the worry in the boy's voice. In truth, it was JUST A GAME and more important than that, they were wizards. Fear was for muggles, muggles and well people that forget that magic fixes just about everything. Pain and injury are temporary, inconvenient states that hardly needed to be addressed. Such was the charmed existence of a true wizard.

I can't wait to get out there," yes he could not wait to see his teammates go down (hard).

Ah death...

They say in life nobody gets out of it alive and indeed they are not wrong. Yet throughout life we seek to preserve our own existence whilst simultaneously dancing on the edge of oblivion. We take risks for the sake of it. To feel alive, existing is never enough yuet in the end we always cling. There is no sweet repose, no gentle eternal lullabye, we fight.. we fight against the dying light.

So it is with great fascination that one would watch the match. How with such power and boundless potential we find ourselves in a skirmish for the sake of a bit of dented leather and arbitrary points. "One finds it fascinating," they admitted as they watched the players fall.

Interacting with No one in particular

"Seriously? Can't anyone do anything without me?" Arjan grumbled under his breath as he instantly got called upon. Come on. They had one job. Admittedly, he was glad he got a chance to play - it was the perfect way to show off to all of the cuties out there. He just was slightly annoyed that he just sat down before the decision had been made.

Then again - the beater that had just joined him on the bench as he was getting up was annoying. Arjan immediately disliked him, so he was pretty pleased to leave the benches just to get away from the guy. Perhaps that kid could learn a thing or two.

Making his way into the skies, he immediately made his mark by whacking a bludger straight into one of the opposing team's beaters. Honestly, he had no idea which team it was - nor did he really care, in all honesty. He just noticed a bat and assumed it was a beater. Either way, with a powerful whack, he redirected the bludger directly into the opposing player and smirked as he watched it hit. Success!

With that, he ran his spare hand through his hair, flexing a little for all of the ladies (and dudes) to enjoy. His muscles were definitely not for show. He might have spent a lot of time going to the gym to build arms that he could flex, sure, yes. But he actually also really enjoyed exercising and had the strength and stamina to back up his bragging.

Smirking over to the crowd, he spun the bat a little and blew a kiss towards a random pretty girl he spotted in the stadium. Oh right, yeah, he should probably focus on the game. Steadying his bat, he turned to figure out his next move.
