Ami beamed at Nora's mention of dusk, and the absence of authoritative warnings. "I promise," she said solemnly, with a perfectly straight face. "I promise that I'm a pro at sneaking out after lights-out. And if y'all are up for it, I'll meet you back here at say... 9:45? Ish?" Ami grabbed one of Nora's whistles with a mouthed thank you, and hung it around her neck. "Nah, ish is too iffy- but the time's pretty spot-on. It's a plan, then. Right here at 9:45, sharp."

Glancing at her watch, Ami's eyes widened in panic. "Crap nuggets, I need to get to class. 9:45, sharp, 'kay? I'll see you then!" Waving goodbye, she dashed off back to the castle, taking the steps three at a time. She was super excited for that night. A moonlit hike! What could possibly be more exciting than that? Well, a good book, maybe, but that was beside the point. A hike illuminated by moonlight was probably the most romantic thing she was ever going to do, and she just couldn't wait for it. Hopefully, the others were as equally excited as she was- otherwise, the hike might not be as fun, if one of them didn't like the idea.
