The Outdoors Finished

"Definitely," Miranda replied with a wide grin. She liked Henry, that was obvious, and hoped to see him again soon. It was nice to have someone to talk to, and even if he wasn't Ravenclaw, he was close enough. And besides, what did she care what house he was in? Your housemates didn't determine you, only you did, by doing your own thing and being unique. That was more important than anything else.

Together, the two of them left the courtyard in favor of the dry castle. It was one of the rare times she was glad to be back inside. Rain was seriously her one natural nemesis. Well, along with all the other kinds of storms and natural disasters, but rain was the highest one on list thanks to how rare the majority of the others were. And the fact that it had ruined such a peaceful conversation made her even more rankled. Did Mother Nature have a vendetta against her or what?

She bit back a sigh, realizing how ridiculous her thoughts really were.

"That was close." Henry chuckled slightly. "So how about it then, friends?" He held out his hand, and she took it after barely a moment's hesitation.

"Friends," Miranda agreed, smiling.

Yes, she could do that.
