The Schools Have Arrived

The first to arrive is Koldovstoretz, one of the smaller schools. They have the advantage of joining the other two meet and greet threads. Mahoutokoro, one of the other smaller schools has a similar advantage where they are in a shared thread with two of the largest schools so they have the opportunity to thread with the largest group possible. Nobody is obligated to participate in any of these threads but they are a great chance to make connections.

Just as the Goblet was placed in the Great Hall for all to gawk at in awe, so too had invitations been placed in convenient spots around the castle. Students who had been at Hogwarts for a while would recognize the familiar pattern of teasers and hype starting for the upcoming ball. Year in and year out, the two major balls of the year were often the height of drama and romance. Often, one could meet people they wouldn't normally meet, in no small part due to the inclusion of a large population of international students, and an electric undercurrent of impending competition.

One such invite would be bold and simple. A small heads-up for any confused first years who had never even heard of the Triwizard Tournament, and a reminder of how long they will have before they must work up the courage to sign away their life. What kind of people would be enticed to spend an entire year devoted to representing the honor and skill of their school, or to prove that they were capable, and worthy of praise. Imagine the career opportunities. This time around, anyone could enter, so why not do it?

The school seemed to be buzzing with anticipation for the Hexwizard Tournament. Questions arose among the student body about the champions, tasks, and prize... The tournament seemed all most could talk about these days.

Among the gossip, one morning scattered around the hall flyers laid covering tables and posted to the bulletin boards, detailing the date for the next Blossom Ball. Save the date: April 2nd, 2022. A night of dancing fun and daring games. A flyer that shone colors of warmth, similar to that of a setting sun drawing others for a moment of tranquility. Dancing figures underneath the warmth, a peaceful sight to behold a odd change from the usual chaos or excitement of the past few balls. Could this be a peaceful evening of dancing like the flyer suggests or perhaps there's a bit more to it then the eye can see... Little flowers drawn in the corners of the poster to contrast the colors, a keen student may noticed the flowers belong to different countries of the world. Warm colors and flowers... what a peculiar combination.

The flyer calls on students of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds to attend the night of the ball. Actually some could say the flyer is daring them to attend, daring them to experience a night of fun. Could this for once be a peaceful night filled of smiles and laughter with something that everyone could enjoy or perhaps will it be a chaos fueled ball, watching the sun disappear into the night sky as a fire illuminates the destruction.

The night is still young as are you. The fun will be begin at sunset and continue well into the mystery of the night. A night full of togetherness and fun... there's only one option for some... when the time comes will you cast yourself into the flames? We dare you to come and find out.

The Hufflepuff Pride Day is celebrated every 20th of March each year. This day gives honor to the Hufflepuff house from the Harry Potter universe. If you know this house, you are familiar with their gold and black badger insignia. The Hufflepuff house is one of the four main houses, along with Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Notable members of this house include Nymphadora Tonks and Cedric Diggory. The Hufflepuff Pride Day gives honor to this house with members known for their unquestionable loyalty, kindness, and hard work.

About Hufflepuff Pride Day
This day of celebration is dedicated to all Harry Potter fans, especially those who classify themselves as having the traits of a member of the Hufflepuff house. Celebrants of this day are usually the fans of Harry Potter. They do various activities involving the Harry Potter franchise with an emphasis on the Hufflepuff house. For instance, they read books, wear Hufflepuff attires, embody the traits of a Hufflepuff, and many more.

The founder of the Hufflepuff household is Helga Hufflepuff. She was born in Wales during the 10th century. She helped found the Hogwarts school along with her companions. Hufflepuffs are known for having the utmost willingness to learn. They value honesty, loyalty, and fair play.

Who is Helga Hufflepuff?
Helga Hufflepuff is known for uniting wizards and witches together regardless of their backgrounds. She is also known for her kind deeds – most especially for bringing house-elves into Hogwarts, giving them a home, and putting them away from abuse, slavery, and mistreatment.

If you’ve a mind that slithers around corners and sees opportunity in every turning of the wheel of time, if you will stand for what is just and right for just as long as it suits your purposes, if you make those around you dance like puppets on a string while you orchestrate greatness, you just might belong in House Slytherin. While some consider these traits to be something less than desirable, Slytherin Pride Day is your opportunity to celebrate the fact that you understand the difference between idiotic valor and judicious prudence.

About Slytherin Pride Day
If you’re a fan of Harry Potter (and let’s be honest, who isn’t?), then it’s incredibly likely that you have mixed feelings about House Slytherin. House of both Severus Snape and the Dark Lord himself, he should not be named, it’s not surprising it has something of a dubious reputation. Let’s be honest though; their biggest failing is an aspiration to greatness and a keenly developed survival skill that has them placing survival over heroics any day of the week. Make no mistake though; a Slytherin is not someone to be trifled with; they’ll out-think you at every turn, plan so many steps ahead that anything you do is bound to turn out in their favor, and otherwise fully embody the mastermind roll in your life. If you’re fortunate enough to have a Slytherin in your life make certain that you show them the respect they’re due and know that when they seem to be doing something outright pointless, it’s likely all falling into some greater plan.

For those who noticed, some people had their pets changed recently due to a change in the pet system (see below). This has been manually fixed and everyone should have their original pet now. IF you have an incorrect pet, please send me an owl. If you have any other issues, holla at me too.

On the plus side, the black cat (Bewitched Midnight Stalker) is now available for purchase, for those who want it. Follow the usual pet application for it.

And no, no other pets are available/will be available at this time. Adding this one pet back into the system (it deleted itself) was the reason that half the site's pets glitched and we manually spent the last few hours fixing it. After this, I think we'll be careful adding new pets again, so please spare a thought for us and don't ask about new pets.

Ravenclaws find value in and are known for their intelligence, academic prowess, pride, forgiving nature, readiness, cleverness, and creativity. Ravenclaw Pride Day is celebrated every year on March 23, this day is an opportunity for you to meet members of your community and show how proud you are to be Ravenclaw.

About Ravenclaw Pride Day

The Ravenclaw Common Room is located in one of the towers in Hogwarts Castle, up a tight spiral staircase. Wide and circular, with bookcases, tables, and chairs, the common room has arched windows and a domed ceiling painted like a night sky. A riddle from a knocker shaped like an eagle must be answered to enter the room. In the Harry Potter books, blue and bronze (or blue and gold or yellow) are the Ravenclaw colors. They are blue and silver in the Harry Potter films. The Ravenclaw mascot is an eagle in the books and a raven in most of the films. You need to really know your stuff to even enter your common room if you want to be a part of this house.

Some notable Ravenclaw characters are Luna Lovegood, Cho Chang, Gilderoy Lockhart, and Professor Filius Flitwick, the head of Ravenclaw.

Founder of Ravenclaw

The house was founded by Rowena Ravenclaw, a medieval witch. She had a hand in creating the name and location of Hogwarts, and she helped make the school what it was, particularly when it came to designing its floorplans.

New Professor of Astronomy

I would like to extend a hearty welcome to our newest Professor of Astronomy, Farron Horne. Farron will be starting shortly but before she does, please thank Nigel Read for their months of service, they have been with us since July of 2021 and they have assisted us in expanding the subject. They do plan on staying around a few more weeks so hopefully that will give us time to get Farron acclimated to their new role.

Farron is being played by Willow Anderson, a Hufflepuff Prefect. This does mean that she will be leaving her present role as Prefect and we will be soon announcing the need for a new Prefect (this will be announced by Caradoc Browne when he is ready to do so) and so there may be a bit of time that you see her in dual roles temporarily. Willow has been with us in a variety of roles since joining the site, she works as a Duelling Captain where she contributes to the Duelling System as well as moderates duels. She is also a writer for the school paper. Finally, she previously held the Assistant Role of Librarian as Robyn Finley. Robyn is being deactivated because the new character is more suitable for the role, however Robyn remains in good standing with the community.

So please give her a warm welcome.

As we reach the end of the month, we are saying goodbye to two of our lovely prefects: Frost Cira and Willow Anderson. They'll both be missed, though the call of the deep was too strong for them. This is why you'll find that they both have decided to dedicate their lives to becoming real-life mermaids. Good luck with the merpeople neighbours, I'd say. I hear they can be really loud.
