Last I remember, the NPC registration is being reworked, so new NPC registration is closed until further notice.

For the moment, I would hold off on announcing Frost's father's position until you can sign up again. Otherwise, I'm sure her father can have a perfectly fine magical creature-related career in the private industry.

As for the wandmaking business, Ollivander's has a large monopoly on the wand business (we all had to get our wands from there). They're not going to be bigger or better than that. I don't see an issue with it though.

Ah. I see. I won't put anything with that until the system is up again! Also, I wasn't excpecting the wandmaking business to be bigger than Olivanders, and I will be making that a thing, since I haven't seen it done yet. Thanks for answering so fast!

Actually, Frost, the NPC job system is up and running. Go to the Minister’s Office and you can apply there in the Ministry Jobs thread

Hello, I am very sorry if I am not the first one to ask this question, but how do I become a second-year?
I guess my character should move up in real time (so that means I would need to wait one year) but I have read somewhere that the classes are what make us move up. So let’s say I’ll finish all my homework BEFORE the ‘real’ school year ends, would I then become a second-year earlier? Or does this have no effect?

In order to be a second year you have to be on the main index and have registered (on the site) before July 1. The system was changed so you don’t have to do homework to move up a year. Since you registered after July 1 you’re still a first year. Sorry

Just to expand on what Vivienne said... Yes, the registration date is the cut off point for this year's Second Year. However, you'll be able to become a second year next July. It's based on Real Time, right now so everyone will move up a year in August 2019.

Right now, homework has no impact on the years. Originally, you had to do 25 to move up but this clause was removed. So there's no need to rush the homework before September - this won't have an impact on your year right now.

But I'd recommend you still do it, when you can! It is useful to give you skills that you can use in events during your year.

Hello! Sorry If I might just be looking in the wrong place, but for some reason, one of my friends (Who is joining the site) cant find out how to change his avatar. We keep going to his profile and clicking on 'avatar', but there is no option to change it. (Sorry if this is a bit dumb.)

Yes, that is an issue many are facing currently. We are aware and are trying to fix it; unfortunately it especially leads to complications for those trying to get validated. We apologize for the inconvenience.
