Fear can be found in both environmental and individual stimuli, and the former had been Julien's friend since his early life on his uncle's boat, The Peregrine. The open waters fascinate him, but it is also a ruthless force that can strip away what you hold dear if you are not careful—or even if you are the most cautious sailor in the world. Julien's early voyages did not yield any disasters, but he did witness tragedies and have some close encounters with serious injury or death. The dangers of the seas and its inhabiting creatures instilled a fear in his younger self, no doubt. Though as time went on, Julien grew to appreciate the ocean's whims. Everyday was an exciting adventure much like that of the story books he read, every adversity overcame was another page in his own log. Therefore, frightening situations, namely dangerous environments do not scare Julien now. Now, a rocky ship means adventure. Intrigue.

Similarly, individuals who exhibit frightening auras and intimidating presences, they do not affect Julien at all. The boy already met the most terrifying person he could possibly encounter: his grandfather and the current Morte family patriarch Mateo. The man is ruthless, calculating, and his whims can change faster than one can flip a book. All that just made Julien nervous at first, what really scared him was the older man's ability to snap his fingers and take his parents' and uncle's life if he really wanted to. If a creature—werewolf, dhampir, or any other being cannot do that, then there's no reason to be afraid and loose his senses. Furthermore, during Julien's stay at the Morte family's home in Toledo, he started noticing things. Noticing that even the villain of his story is just a pathetic old man with his own weaknesses. While the threat of safety looms over his head, Julien had built some sort of harmonious relationship with his grandfather, no longer passively harboring a sense of fear towards him. The old man believes that he can shape his grandson into a useful tool or even something more, while Julien slowly started carving Mateo into the stake that would pierce his own heart. This bold taming of the venomous snake, this audacity—if it isn't the embodiment of fearlessness, what is?

That being said, Julien is not exactly completely devoid of the sense of fear. He fears the harm his true family would receive if he does not satisfy his grandfather's expectations; he fears the suffocating future that he would have to live in if he does not achieve his goal; he fears the possibility where he loses himself in the dizzying world of prestige and power.

However, fear does not define him. It motivates him and grants him clarity—if he fears an outcome of something, he would avoid it to the best of his ability. If it is unavoidable, he would overcome it and absorb the experience to build himself, then continue on his desired path.

Fear is fuel, or it is nothing to him.

also, can the [UNDISCOVERED] line of the current second year ability code be modified to "Self-control in the face of typically fear-inducing stimuli."? Thanks a lot!
PENDING - 4th Oct, Sako
(i) The part about potions and charms being less effective on him actually suits the 'Potion Resistance' ability a lot more than fearless. Could you pick a different explanation as to how fear doesn't effect him?
EDITS - 5th Oct, Julien
Done!! Please tell me if there's anything else I should modify:)

Due to his family's business of hunting, poaching, trapping, and selling rare, endangered, and exotic animals, Daisuke gradually became desensitized to the danger that surrounded such animals. After his first instance of magic, during which he narrowly avoided a tiger attack, he became bolder little by little. Of course, compared to tigers, leopards, bears, wolves, and other vicious predatory creatures, Daisuke hardly saw reason to fear humans; particularly since, if one bothered him enough, he wasn't above putting them in their place with a good beating. After all, in the animal world, if might made right and the strongest were the ones that survived, why should the human world have been any different?

It turned out that beating people up was easier said than done. When Daisuke entered muggle school as a young child, he ended up getting teased for only being half Japanese because his mother was half American, half British. He learned to ignore comments directed at himself, but when other kids started to insult his mother, that was when Daisuke started to get violent. He quickly learned that getting into fights meant getting hurt just as much as hurting others, but he just as quickly became accustomed to physical pain in order to overcome his weaknesses and get stronger as a fighter. As a result of all his fighting, other kids began to avoid him and he was considered something of a delinquent even back in day school.

As he grew, his mother disliked his fighting habits, but his father encouraged it, believing that was the best way for Daisuke to survive against both humans and the wild animals they handled for the family business. Daisuke embraced the label of 'delinquent', going so far as to get his ears pierced and get dyed streaks in his hair in order to warn the peers of his that didn't yet know him that he was dangerous - just as creatures in the animal world used bright colors to warn others to stay away from them. The more people who gave him a wide berth, the bolder Daisuke got until he started to feel like no one could beat him.

When he became introduced to the magical world, he rapidly became aware that magic was a whole other scale of power. He realized he couldn't simply just rely on his fists all the time in order to stay strong because as good as he became at fighting, those who used magic could attack him easily without even breaking a sweat. Fortunately for Dai, he was a quick study and became determined to get just as good at offensive magic as he was at fighting for the sake of protecting himself and those he cared about as well as their honor and dignity.

As his father told him before, in order to protect everything and everyone he cared about, he had to become the strongest being of all - both in physical and magical power. And if he wanted to become the strongest of all, he knew he couldn't let fear get in his way. Not that he didn't feel it, but he knew he couldn't allow it to hinder him in the slightest whenever a fight truly mattered.

The Chiadovinis demanded a son that possessed the gift of the third eye. Their entire family legacy and power had depended upon it for over six centuries. Children who had not possessed the gift, those that had not possessed magic, had been culled or disowned. If Vergilius could not prove that he had the Sight, he too would be cut. Removed. Pruned.

Vergilius learned, as he got older and found that things that those gifted with the Sight should be able to do that he could not, that he had not been one gifted with the talent of the Chiadovinis. Before Ricardo's death, he had been told that perhaps his talents would be late in presentation as it had been for his half-brother before him... but Vergilius could see through the lies and the hopes. He knew that he did not possess the talent.

But Vergilius was not one to accept his misfortune, to allow himself to be stripped of the honor and prestige that the honorable Chiadovini-Schiavone name had gifted him. One day, he avowed, he would finally strip the dishonorable "Schiavone" from his name. He would be a Chiadovini come Hell or high water.

He simply had to become that which he was not.

And that was of very little challenge to him.

The nature of a Seer was quite easy to replicate, to mimic, to fabricate. Intuition was a gift that could be practiced. And perhaps it took a little luck, but perhaps more-so it took the ability to read the things that others habitually overlooked--the placement of one's eyes, the body language of another, the hold of one's face or posture. Mankind was not a complex beast. Beasts could be domesticated. Brutish attacks could be evaded, danger-sense could be harnessed.

And so Vergilius learned. He began defying numerical odds that others would find suspicious when it came to the art of elusion and evasion. It was no longer a game of luck, of intuition... but of sociology, of logic, of knowing when someone had the intent to harm and taking countermeasures to prevent them from achieving their foolhardy goals. Others may have called it the early markers and signs of a blossoming Seer, but Vergilius would recognize his talents for what they were: deception so finely practiced that it could not be identified as anything else other than the truth. He would win the name. He would take the crown.

He would become Vergilius Ricardo Chiadovini.
