Though Tracey already knows that she has a magical talent, what she doesn't know, is that once she goes to Hogwarts, she'll gain another ability, that only she'll know about, which is similar to her childhood friend's ability. A month or so after she had gotten sorted, Tracey started to sense things that she never used to sense before, which made her confused, since she wasn't sure what was happening to her. She even wrote an owl to her parents, but they also didn't know what was happening to her.

Sometimes Tracey could sense when someone is about to enter the same room as her, or she can tell that someone is approaching her, but she was never able to sense these things before in her childhood, which made her very confused, but her confusion was soon turned into curiosity when she wrote an owl to her childhood friend explaining everything and reading his reply, which he stated that he was also sensing the same thing.

At first Tracey thought she was going crazy, because of the things she was suddenly sensing, but now, it all makes sense, especially with her childhood friend saying that he's also sensing sorta the same thing as she is. Now, Tracey knows she isn't going crazy, but she still doesn't know what this is. Besides all the sensing, she can also somewhat tell what someone's feeling, if that's even possible, which Tracey doesn't think is.

Tracey wasn't good at reading people, so when she found this out, she was shocked, but she just thought it was because she was getting to hangout with more people and get to know them more, but in reality, it was her ability she had no idea about.

Over the rest of the school year, as she tried to figure out what's happening to herself and her childhood friend, she kept on sensing things, like people entering the same room as her, Tiger trying to surprise her, etc. She also was able to read people, or more like know what they were thinking sorta.

Tracey wasn't sure how to explain it, and she knew she wasn't crazy, but honestly she might be, and she honestly hopes she's not, but maybe she's special? Though she's already special since she's a Metamorphmagus. But then again, others are a Metamorph as well.

When she returned to the castle as a second year, Tracey wasn't expecting any of her sensing to return, but it did, which she thought was crazy, since she really thought it was a one time thing, but guess it's not. Maybe she should go to the Hospital Wing about it?

Why this fits my character:

When Avis was around eight or so, her town held a spelling bee. Her mother encouraged her to join, and so reluctantly she did. She managed to get into the finale but failed when she spelled the word rain as rane. She should have known better, she told herself, and her sister agreed. She teased her relentlessly for months afterward. Even when she reminded her sister she had gotten into the finale, her sister teased her. It was the worst fight they ever had, and Avis became scared of failure. She isn't scared of mistakes when practicing, but she is scared of how people will judge her if she messes up in front of them, and because of that, she practices everything constantly until she is sure she won't mess up in front of other people. For the next year's spelling bee, Avis practiced for months beforehand, and she won. Because her sister had nothing to tease her about, she didn't tease Avis, and Avis became addicted to that feeling. No one could judge her if she was perfect.
Now she won't go in front of crowds, or anyone, without being completely confident in her skills. She will go in front of crowds, she isn't afraid, she simply makes sure she has something that can wow everyone first. She won't answer a question unless she knows the answer, and she won't play a game of chess against someone she can't beat. She has, however, practiced chess a lot, because she could also be judged for refusing to play, so she can beat everyone in her family. In her mind, the only way to not be judged is to be perfect, and the only way to be perfect is to practice. And so, she practices her spells constantly, though little in class(there are other people there). She isn't perfect at all in her spells, but she won't cast one unless she has practiced it constantly, and so feels confident in it.

On a given day during free time, one could find Avis in an empty classroom, on the grounds, or basically anywhere she might not be found in order to practice her spells. However, as soon as you walked in, Avis would immediately stop. After all, you might be judging her. She also focuses on the details, trying to get the little things right that most people forget, in order to put herself on top of everyone else. She does need to, after all, be perfect.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Muggle Condition
Describe why this fits your character: WC: 588/400
Reducio
Time spent in the muggle world seemed to move different (slower, maybe) than that of the magical world. The hourglass, when flipped to the "normal" side, trickled with its pale sand and landed in piles far too large to warrant the time spent. Every holiday, every break, Maggie used to sit with her hands pressed against her cheeks, listening to the everyday drone of the outside foot traffic as it passed by her open window. In another life, perhaps a few years earlier, she'd be bored of it, longing for the constant stimulation of Hogwarts and the magical world.

God, she had been so wrong.

Ever since the integration of Maggie and her mother (and, by extension, Theresa and Dean) back into the Hawkins family, the magic felt as if it had been bled back out of the world. Even after their divorce, performed artfully while she was away at school in April, the claws of Maggie's relatives had sunk into her gooseflesh, unwilling to let go. She hated it. Hated the fact that half of the summer was now spent at the Hawkins manor, begging her grandmother for something fun to do while she played with little Theresa. In all honesty, Maggie didn't even care that the other members of her family didn't give a shit, too wrapped up in their blood-purity nonsense to bother with Maggie's teenage drama, but she cared an awful lot about the fact that her cell phone didn't work at the manor. She didn't understand how her pureblooded friends back at school could bear it, filling their time with conversation with house elves and what she could only assume were evil, pureblood-only rituals (or so she thought; the Hawkins family, sans Theresa and Saoirse, didn't pay Maggie much mind).

Maggie longed for the slowness of ordinary life, the way the muggle world seemed to drag on relentlessly and without regard for how quickly that life moved when you added a little magic.

Though she was a witch, blessed with the ability to wield a wand and ride a broom, Maggie often felt as if she was better suited for muggle life. A life that didn't choose her, but one she'd much rather have, now. Life felt more secure and understandable when she had a stupid muggle movie in her hands, watching the DVD player in her small bedroom whir to life. Things felt more familiar when she was on solid ground, unaware of the unfortunate circumstances that befell wizardkind for merely existing. SCAR, bruised skin from falling from your broomstick, stupid fights with best friends and boys and people who didn't matter in the first place, pureblood balls you'd never be good enough to attend.

Even when it came down to wandwork, Maggie couldn't boast any of the fancy moves her classmates could. It simply wasn't in the cards for her, a great understanding and skill when it came to magic. She wasn't like the other witches and wizards of her grade, so skilled in their spellcasting. It didn't come as second nature, with short-circuiting wands and sparks flying from the heirloom wand she'd been granted. It didn't even listen to her when she was too quiet, perhaps hellbent on proving the obvious: that she didn't belong there, really. Perhaps she was better suited for that muggle life she'd known in her youth, something simpler and better grounded in her reality.

For now, though, halfway through her schooling, Maggie knew she could boast something her pureblood classmates couldn't: a mean right hook.

The Salt family was once a well know family of pure-blood naturalists who values status and power over everything. As time came to pass the family had fallen in disarray spread between old beliefs and new ideals. Hacue is the middle child in his pure blood wizarding family with two older broth who had attended Hogwarts but never fully lived up to their full potential in their fathers’ eyes. A lot of pressure was placed on Hacue at a young age to be the standout of his family and help his family name become well known again.
As Hacue began showing magical ability his father reinforced these ideals in him and pointed out how disappointed he was in his brothers. The family pressure made Hacue realize that laziness is a selfish desire and shows weakness. He began pushing himself both physically and mentally to surpass his brothers in every way. Pushing his limits he explored and challenged himself to sometimes dangerous tasks, showing that he has what it takes to be a great wizard.
One summer as the second oldest brother Benson returned home from Hogwarts he brought with him his school supplies which included a copy of Migical theory and The dark forces: a guide to self-protection. He asked his brother if he could borrow them and began studying through them. At first, he didn’t quite understand what he was reading until the oldest brother Thomas noticed him puzzling flipping through the pages. Thomas wanted to show how capable he was began explaining magical theory and how it applies to spells.
Wanting to know more Hacue bugged his brother all summer until he finally agreed to teach him about defense against the dark arts. He explained how wands work and how specific spells can be used to cause great damage. As days turned to weeks Hacue flipped through his brothers guide to self-protection again and again understanding more and more each time. Until finally his father Charles Salt stepped in. He explained that defense against the dark arts is the cornerstone of being a powerful wizard and how the ability to cast horrific spells is a true testament to power. These words soaked in deep with Hacue.
Watching his brothers explain spells, incantations, and wand movements he started to understand more and more. What was once complicated gibberish became second hand to Hacue. Finally, the day arrived for Hacue to get his own wand and copies of the very same books he borrowed from his brothers just years prior. As he flipped through the pages, he was almost able to recite every word line by line. Showing how hard he worked to memorize but also understood.

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): WC: 411/400

Despite growing up in a family full of duelers and scholars, Lottie had always had an interest in the many intricacies of Quidditch. When not burdened by the constant flow of required reading and independent study ordered by her parents, Lottie often found herself gravitating towards books on Quidditch. She would spend hours stuffed away in her bedroom, consuming as much knowledge as she could about the sport and its history.

One position in particular seemed to stand out to her: Keeper. Having spent most of her life guarded and protective of the few things she had to herself, she understood the responsibility of defending a side through duty alone. She wasn't very interested in sports themselves, but she was well aware of the history of sportsmanship and how it made an impact in both the muggle and magical world. Without an outlet to practice, however, her abilities were left mostly unchallenged, and her understanding of the sport was strictly in her mind.

Upon entering Hogwarts, Lottie had taken an immediate liking to rush of broom flying. Ascent was a kind of magical pleasure she had yet to endure prior to attending the school, so the surprise and freshness of it only stoked her curious mind. She began taking more time out of classes to practice broom-flying and, more specifically, the art of keeping.

Her brother, a former student at Hogwarts and also a former member of the Ravenclaw quidditch team, was somewhat thrilled at the revelation of his sister's passion. He began exchanging letters with her, giving her advice on technique and training, allowing her abilities to flourish and grow into an exceptional talent, one that she treasured dearly. Her efforts were displayed notably in her flight classes, where she continued to excel. She also made sure to attend as many quidditch matches as possible, if only to watch the keeper and their performance, as well as how they fit into the bigger picture of the game.

Once she received admittance into the Slytherin quidditch team, Lottie was determined to prove that she deserved her place on the team, even as a second-string keeper. Her prior knowledge and study of the game would certainly pay off once she made it onto the pitch and had a real opportunity to become a part of the game. Though she still has plenty of room to grow, she has a real knack for her position and a wide knowledge of its technical workings.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Charmer
Describe why this fits your character:

Reducio
People often believe that wit is something that only a few are ever able to fully master. However there are some who are able to inherently utilize their wit in any sense of the word. Siobhan tends to ramble when she has something to say and while not all of it truthfully makes sense, it tends to drag others into the conversation solely because they have this weird nagging need to understand exactly what she means when she speaks. What exactly she talks about changes on where she is, who she is with, and what she sees around her. It's quite difficult for her to turn her brain off and when she gets on a roll, her filter can disappear causing her to say more and more interesting or whimiscal words that just continue to baffle and confuse those she is speaking too, creating an ouroborus cycle of the need to keep listening just to understand why she was still rambling.

Much of her ramblings tend to border on information dumping, as knowledge is incredibly important to her and necessary for her to share with others. Part of the way that she tends to share information is through her plants, of which she is incredibly knowledgable of. One of her special traits, is that she knows the language of flowers, a Victorian language that allows for one to secretly pas messages through the use of plants, herbs, and flowers. Wittingly, she will leave traces of these messages hidden across papers and items that she shares or even when conversing with someone, will slip in these hidden meanings to draw in those that she is talking to, inviting them to understand how her mind functions and how she wishes to communicate.

While Siobhan doesn't truly struggle with communication, she does struggle with maintaining conversation. A slight advantage of her wit and her words mean that she can continue to intrigue and convince those who converse or interact with her that she wants to be their friend or even that she has something to share with others. She is still overcoming the overwhelming obtuseness that she has when it comes to others and their emotions but with her wit and her ability to understand flowers, she is slowly working to expand her emotional maturity by engaging others in more meaningful conversations.

Wit and Charm go hand in hand, she wants to use her wit to charm others into understanding that just because the way others think is different, doesn’t mean that their ideas and perspective of the world is any different from those who don’t lack the intelligent ability to understand sarcasm and the wonders of the psyche.

Karina hasn't had the chance to meet a lot of people, since she is kind of new. She wants to experience something magical, too! She wants to have some kind of magical ability that made her 'stand out'. Karina isn't making this up, but to be honest she had felt like she could see a little part of the future, such as knowing what someone was going to say. That already made her feel powerful, knowing that it might have been a coincidence too, she wanted to learn more.
When Karina was in muggle school, she had the feeling as though she knew what the lessons would be about, even if it hadn't been said. One day, coming to class about 2 minutes early, she didn't even look behind her, but in her mind she could see the exact image on what her teacher looked like. She seemed to have 'paused time'. In her mind, the teacher was going to say; Karina, how are you today? I hope you studied, in case, you know... we have a pop-quiz... hehe. Then the moment she thought it, it was true, her teacher said those exact words. Perhaps Karina was just used to seeing her teacher everyday, knowing her every word. But that was not the case.
Karina would also be right with the time. She wouldn't even look at her watch nor a clock nor even outside the window, and knew exactly what time it was. One day, while being at her house, there was a storm outside. Karina wasn't alone, her brother was in the other room, playing quietly with his cars, and Karina's mom was taking a quick shower before Karina's father returned from work. Karina felt as though lightning might strike a tree outside of her window so she quickly ran to her brother and took him away from all of the windows. About a minute later, she was right, a tree had been stricken by lighting, but luckily had fallen on the grass beside her house. *No one was harmed*
Karina once read a book on these magical beings called, a Seer. She learned that a Seer was a gifted wizard or witch who had the ability to see into the future with their Inner Eye. After doing some more bloodline research, she learned that her Aunt Stella was a Seer. Karina felt that Aunt Stella fulfilled Karina's personality more than Karina's mom and dad did. Maybe, just maybe, Karina had a magical connection to Aunt Stella, and that maybe Karina was also a Seer. Deep inside, knowing she wanted to be a Seer, she would do (almost) anything to make that wish come true.

Avis has been an impulsive adventurer since birth, often accompanying her older brother Will on short journeys within their seaside village that bringing his little sister on usually got him in trouble for. With these curiosity trips come the inevitable little tip toes with danger that gradually taught Avis how to be more aware throughout her childhood and she has found this particular skill even more useful now that she attends Hogwarts, an arguably safe but unpredictable environment that an explorer like herself might exploit a bit too much.

Really, all the credit goes to having a single mother who couldn't control her children at every moment of the day as well as a playful (in better words, mischievous) older brother who spent his days harassing and playing multiple pranks on his two younger sisters with limited supervision.

Avis, along with the experience from her adventures and playing Quidditch in the backyard with Will, found ways to dodge these pranks and lighthearted attacks that would constantly go on in her household because her mother was usually busy with her laundry business and her sister was usually locked away in her room writing short stories, leaving Avis to fend for herself. The first time our young adventurer discovered her developing ability to evade harm was when Will found it quite funny to play the old tripwire to bucket of water on one's head trick... for the third time that week.

After receiving a generous soaking twice in one week, Avis was determined not to let it happen again and therefore, was hyper aware of hidden tripwires and ropes tied to door handles for the next few days, careful of where she stepped and which doorways she passed through. Eventually, she just started doing it out of habit and it finally paid off when she not only noticed a sneaky rope attached to a bucket above the door right before she entered, but lay in wait for her brother to foolishly pass through the same door. Needless to say, their mother had to use another unplanned Hot Air Charm that day, much to her dismay and disappointment.

As Avis' skill of mostly accidental but sometimes intentional evasiveness grew, Will became more frustrated that his main target was getting smarter and dodging his "attacks", which meant that his pranks only got more clever, forcing Avis to get better at evading them. By the time she was 11, she'd developed the skill to the point where she was just evading mishaps and accidents by pure luck it seemed, something Avis was extremely grateful for when she started exploring the unpredictable corridors of her new school.

Thomas Baines was once the boy who earned the praise of his professors. He was sharp as a tack, with enough dedication to almost make up for his smart mouth. Wand and wit were wielded with an expertise that made him notable, with a flair that bordered on cruelty. His dueling record was certainly nothing to sneeze at either; Tom may have been thin as a twig, but he remained formidable. For years, the Ravenclaw was unassailable and confident, a golden boy who crushed tests and adversaries alike. The piste was his stage, and his grin—a wolfish sort of thing—surfaced only when he stood victorious. Thomas didn't even mind the losses; they were opportunities to learn all the same.

By the start of his fifth year, perhaps over the summer, something in Thomas had changed. His sharpness dulled. His resignation from the dueling team that prior academic year was only the beginning of his slip into mediocrity. When professors prompted the class for answers, he would shrug, mumble a half-hearted answer, or glare until they moved on or got some other volunteer. Tom became utterly disengaged with schooling, just as became disinterested in everything else. Socializing, other clubs, hobbies, it all fell by the wayside. By midwinter, his cynicism was unmistakable. Any conversation that might have been prompted became outlets for his negativity and misery. On the rare occasions that a classmate tried to include the wizard, he made his disdain for such a course of action plain. When group assignments were inevitable, Thomas spoke only in curt directives, ignoring suggestions and barely completing whatever was expected of him. Gone was the boy who once thrived on proving others wrong.

His negativity was suffocating to be around—a miasma that lingered after he left the room. Even when Thomas said nothing, the atmosphere around him felt charged with disdain and exhaustion. As the months of the spring term dragged on, Thomas's appearance reflected his growing disinterest in himself and the world around him. His once-meticulous uniform became wrinkled and stained, his shirt half-untucked, his tie perpetually loosened. His hair, once kept neatly combed, grew unkempt, sticking out in odd directions. The sharpness of his gaze—piercing blue eyes that had unnerved plenty of his fellow Hogwarts students—was dulled, shadowed by dark circles that sank deeper with every sleepless night. Combined with his gaunt face and perpetual scowl, he almost looked though he were haunting the halls rather than walking them as a student.

For all Tom's bitterness, he carried himself as though the growing distance between him and everyone else was precisely what he wanted. The young man was sick and tired of being a part of the world, and so he actively worked to repel as many people as possible.

From an early age, Meiyu had always had an almost subconscious awareness of her surroundings shaped in the form of a quiet, persistent whisper in the back of her mind which would capture her gaze or thoughts towards things that often gets overlooked. She has a sharp intuition, allowing her to immediately pick up on things occurring in her environment such as sensing whether she was being watched or how people, whom she would not be directly interacting with, would respond to in social situations. Most recently, whilst attending Hogwarts' Gala of Mysteries, she had noticed upon entry to the Great Hall that a young girl had become upset, the cause being apparent to Meiyu, heartbreak, though other students who had also intervened had failed to notice the blonde lion behind her heartbreak. It is due to her naturally observant nature and usually quite demeanour, which allows her to notice small details that others typically miss.

Furthermore, the development of this ability as she navigates her youth, has made her a great people reader — despite having minimal expression herself. Meiyu's strong gaze enables her to read between the lines, noticing minor details and patterns in peoples behaviour, from how someone could fidget at the mere mention of a name, a crush perhaps, to noticing longing gazes at an unrequited lover.

Meiyu had always been this way, enjoying her solitude over companionship with others, when her two younger brothers would play together, she was quickly able to identify potential conflict from one brother hogging a toy the youngest wanted to play with, using this skill to play mediator between the Xiang siblings had dubbed her as a mini Holmes by her favourite uncle Cyrus.

After the relocation to England, during a typical formal dinner hosted by her Grandparents, as the guests pilled in to the large dining room, which had been redecorated to a more suitable and hospitable manner, Meiyu payed attention to each guest who had walked in to the residence. One guest in particular, a tall pale male dressed in sleek black drapes, who had appeared friendly and sociable to all in attendance, left Meiyu questioning his intentions. There was an inexplicable tension radiating from this guest that she could not shake, regardless if he laughed at the right moments and engaged in lively conversations shared at one of the dinner tables. She had mentioned her discomfort about the individual briefly to her mother, who had brushed the young girl off given there were more important matters at hand — dessert. She had forgotten about the figure until a few weeks later, she had walked by her Grandparents reading the Daily Prophet, noticing the same man who had attended was front page for his scandalous involvement in dark magic.
