So basically my mum has been making small comments on how much I've been eating for a while but especially this Christmas leading up to now. Just the other week she told my little sister 'if you keep eating that that you'll topple off your pointe shoes' which was weird because my sis had a petite figure and will not 'toppled over any time soon. This then leads to the thing which upset me today. So basically I did something to my wrist which I suspect is either a strain or RSI from typing. But mum googled why it's been hurting for a while and one of the symptoms was diabetes only after RSI and sleeping on it. But mum honed in on the diabetes in particular. I shrugged if off saying it can't be diabetes but mum was like you don't know you aren't a doctor. But I not in the age range to start getting diabetes so it annoyed me and upset me that she kept going on about it. And she often says stuff like
'You'll be the size of a house'
Or
'A moment on the lips in a lifetime on the hips'
Like I'm trying to understand she wants us to be healthy and eat nice stuff, but it's upsetting me and making feel more insecure than I already am....
I know how you feel, Emiline. That's a really hurtful thing for someone to say, mom or not. My siblings call me fat all the time, and it really hurts me, but after a while, I stopped caring. Someone once told me only you call people what you are, so if your mom keeps calling you fat, just don't give her a reaction; she is probably looking for. All you need to do is show that her words mean nothing and prove you're not fat. And there is nothing wrong with being a little fat or a little chubby. I mean no offense to your mom, but if she is pointing that out like it's a disease, she probably has some of her own insecurities she is dealing with. If she persists, honestly sit her down and have a respectful conversation with her, don't be too sharp or sassy, just tell her that her words seriously hurt you, and she might just stop.
Lots of love, E

I can’t believe she’d say those things to you. You deserve none of those awful words and I’d like to say that you are perfect just the way you are.Emiline Hunter wrote: 5 Jan 2026, 19:33 Heya. Just gonna pop in for a bit:

As far as her diagnosis for diabetes. I’m on your side. As someone who has a family full of nurses and other medical professionals, just a sore wrist isn’t a sign that you have diabetes. There are so many other factors that play into a diagnosis and she shouldn’t be making a diagnosis as everyone is different.
I want you to know that no matter what people say about you, they’re wrong. People always have their opinions and it feels as if you’re never going to get to the end of it. That’s why I’ve learned to stop listening to what people think I should be and I focus on who I want to be.
I’d also like to say that you are a healthy weight and shouldn’t worry. I also want you to know that you are loved no matter what people’s opinions are.

Hey Emiline, this is something I’ve struggled with for years. My moms side of the family is really prone to Type 2 Diabetes (The one you mentioned), and my dad hung it over my head anytime I would eat chips or candy instead of carrot sticks or something else. In 2023, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, which has NO relation to what you eat. In fact, I lost so much weight it was scary. Now that I’m healthy again and managing, my dad has brought up the eating. I completely tune him out. Who is he to pick a fit about it? I’m perfectly healthy the way I am 168 pounds, but working out and dieting.. ON MY OWN ACCORD. It’s been a long hard journey getting to where I’m happy with myself, but I have faith in you, and will be praying for you. You’re amazing no matter what!

Type 1 diabetes has nothing to do with diet. Type 2 does have to do with diet and genetics as well as other factors. While being young with Type 2 diabetes is theoretically possible, the weight someone would have to be at a young age is extreme.

Hi! It's great to be able to write here again! I beat cancer! Yes, and I want to be pampered a little! That's why I haven't been active for so long but my treatment worked. It was a really tough process for me, but being positive definitely helped! And it helped with my motivation for my university entrance exam. Thanks to early diagnosis, I really recovered my health before it progressed. And returning here makes me even happier! I feel like I missed a lot and I hope I can catch up with you all. If you want to roleplay, feel free to write!
