Basically what was said above is true. As for uploading images, I am a fan of IMGUR. The pictures upload nicely and there is no cost and no need to create an account. If you need some minor free online editing plus upload, I suggest LUNAPIC.

Reposting because I think it wasn't seen 😅😅
I'm back with another suggestion!

I already dmed Professor Jemari about it, asking if it was already working that way, but as it is not, I'm suggesting it now.
It's about the new spell, the slippery jinx, which only can be used on brooms so far, I think? I feel like it could also be an amazing tool for duelling, one could cast it at the opponents wands for example. I didn't think a lot about details tbh, I guess it would kinda lower the popularity of the Disarming Spell, so maybe it would make sense to give it a high DC?

Welp, it's just a thought XD

Hello! this is a random idea I came up with, but I wanted to share anyway. Since inpcs can be made for Ilvermorny, Durmstrang, and now Beuxbatons, why not have a kind of inpc that is also at Hogwarts? I saw a while ago that we couldn't use characters like Moaning Mrytle or Peeves due to not knowing how they would even cannonicly react, but to cut to the chase I thought it'd be interesting for students to have a Hogwarts ghost inpc. Perhaps you could roleplay how they died, floating around the grounds, or even just interacting with normal students. You get the idea. To an extreme, this could also apply to paintings, but I hope this makes sense. Thanks! :)

I didn't come this far just to come this damn far.

We only allow one inpc to a student. At this time we have limited it to other schools to also limit their potentially confusing and disruptive presence from the school. If we extend the option of allowing the inpc to come from hogwarts, it wont be anytime soon. Inpc management is very time consuming, we only open inpcs up every few months (triannual at most) and usually in conjunction with an event. That said, we will take note of the interest in ghost npcs being an alternative option and what that would mean for players.

The word count I get is necessary to have a good RP but it is a little much when characters are conversing, so maybe a 150-word count instead.

There are many, many different things you can do to fluff up your post to 200 words per post. As this is a writing website we are all focused on trying to become better writers.

Some things you could be writing about while just conversing is:
-What is your character thinking about what the other person is saying? You don't say everything you think. What are those unspoken thoughts?
-What is your character feeling about what is being said?
-Is anything triggering a memory that momentarily takes them away?
-What's the weather like? Is there suddenly a soft breeze that blows her hair into her face?
-Temperature? Too hot, too cold? Just right?
-Surroundings? While having a conversation most people do not deadpan stare at the other person they are talking to. Most people tend to look around at least a little before having their eyes return back to their conversational partner.

So many of these things will propell you well above and beyond 200 words.

A bit of history, our word count expectations used to be higher. We reduced them because we have some younger users. We wont be reducing the size of roleplays again from here. For players interested in a greater challenge we also have tags (RPG+) that have higher word counts. Hopefully with time, practice and experience you will be pursuing the challenges RP can offer as well.

I would like to suggest something about pets.

As far as I understand, currently official pets can only be purchased at Magical Menagerie. On the positive side, this is very convenient and organised. However, on the downside, in my opinion it limits the backstory of how a character meets their pet. Some players may want their character to actually bring a family pet or have a pet who is adopted from an animal shelter or simply from the streets.

My proposed solution would be as follows.

1. A player is allowed to have their "pet"-tagged post in the original Magical Menagerie, Muggle London, or even Elsewhere.
2. To be fair, of course, players who opt for Muggle London or Elsewhere still have to (1) properly tag their post with "Pet", (2) fulfill the word count requirement, (3) have the same limited choices to animals which are currently available at Magical Menagerie, (4) fill in the form as described at Magical Menagerie, and (5) have enough IC money which will be deducted once they get their pets.
3. After the post is made, players must owl a HoH which includes the link to their post.

Just one extra little suggestion about the form of pet purchasing. I suggest that players can opt not to provide their pet's birthday (they can write "N/A"); this is because some players may think that it isn't important (I won't deny that I'm among them), and if the aforementioned idea is approved, this may be very relevant with the idea of pets adopted from the streets or shelters - who knows their real birthday?

In the meantime, thank you for taking your time to read my suggestion. And thank you in advance for your consideration.

Because everything is manual there, it is hard to keep track of things. I'm pretty sure (? - could be wrong) that you can 'find' a pet elsewhere (so long as it's reasonable and within site rules) and so long as you do something in the menagerie to get approved (ie buy treats, food, toys for it) then it's fine. Could be wrong, but that was my understanding of it. There's no sign up form so that's part of the rationale for it needing to be in the Menagerie iirc. So that it's all in a common space.

Birthdays I think are for OOC purposes; similar to blood type it can be something your character doesn't know IC but for the sake of OOC papertrails, they ask you put a birthday. (This is, from my understanding, cause pets die of old age.)

I could be wrong but that was my understanding of the rationales; hope it makes sense ^^
