Yes, for some talents it is possible that they don’t realize it’s special, but I don’t think a person would never notice their talent. Such as being a metamorphmagus you may not realize that the talent is special. But, if you were a part giant, it doesn’t make sense that you think that you are just big and muscular and have an uncanny likeness to giants. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s correct.

That would be fine - it has been done before, eg. Simon Kincaid, a damphir - as long as you make it clear in your application why she doesn't know about her heritage. It would also depend on which race/talent though for how long they'd be able to be ignorant, because eventually they will come across an ability which is obviously unique to them. Eg. At third-year, part-Veela gain the Scream ability, which full humans cannot have. A werewolf would never be able to be ignorant because they transform into a wolf every full moon and have to remember to take wolfsbane potion beforehand. It would also be near-impossible for a metamorphagus to not know what they were because young metamorphs tend to change appearance due to strong emotions, and that's not something most people can do.

I do have another question: is the mentorship programme both IC and OOC? I have seen the IC reason why I person wants to be a mentor, but, if I remember correctly, isn’t it supposed to be purely OOC? I want to become one when I’m of the age, but I don’t think Cynthia would be interested.

It is not IC. It is very much OOC.

Why can't first years pay with wizard money?

This is to prevent people taking advantage of multi accounting, so they don’t send their money to their other account. Once they are second years and more trusted, they could send money

Just like what Thea said, it is there to prevent people to “multiply” money, that is also why we start of with 0 sickles aside from our total count for our school supplies.

Thank you both for your answers, however I was wondering your source because I read these responses about a minute ago, and I've already thought of many loopholes into it. For example, sale, send and resell or even just waiting until you are a second year (if you start in may it's not that long of a wait).

So yeah, if there is an official post or something you've gotten this from can I have the link or if there is a staff member to validate this?

They are right. The loopholes are not intended, but barring first year from trading stuff with others altogether isn't fun either.
Staff can see your transactions though, so if a first year happens to send a lot of items to another first year account, we do see this.

Honestly it is often how I find multi's. I really do not believe your sister loves you so much they give you everything they earn. I am sure there will be exceptions, but that is what the other tools I have are used for. Ideally, people would stop lying.

In the rules, one cannot break into another house, but would it be possible to attempt to? If so, where would it work hehe
