With their personal and real lives getting busier, two of our professors (Rosalind Kibitzer and Boniface MacTavish) have stepped down. This will hopefully give them both more time to enjoy the site as a student. We hope to see them both around on the site and wish them all the best of luck in their endeavours.

If you are interested in joining the staff team as either the Professor of Divination or the Professor of Herbology, please apply before the end of 25th August. You may apply for both but please specify if you have a preference for one role over the other, as we do take that into consideration.

For those who have already applied for Professor of DADA, if you are also interested in applying for either of these roles, please let us know ASAP if you have any preferences and would prefer one of the above ones instead. As this will likely influence the voting, there may be a delay in announcing the chosen candidate for this if there's an overlap. We will be in touch as soon as possible.

Three New Professors!

With the start of the school year we welcome three new Professors: Halford Booth, our new Professor of Divination; Tuesday Jeremiah Irons, our new Professor of Herbology; and Orion Lécuyer, our new Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts. Thank you to all of the other members that have applied for the position, we had a number of good candidates. Please welcome our three newest staff members, we hope that the change they bring this community enhances all of our experiences.

Many of you will recognize Orion Lécuyer as Winnie Harper, a Ravenclaw second year who while new has made a noticeable impact on the community. We are excited to have her here working with us and seeing what she will bring to the community.

The Professor of Herbology has asked that I not disclose their identity. I will respect this, please respect this also.

Halford Booth, our new Professor of Divination, he prefers to be called "Hal" is better known as Marshall Mozor from Gryffindor, he is also a second year. Regarded well by his peers we are excited with the opportunity to work with him.

Please forgive any slowness in processing of classes the next few weeks as these new Professors settle in and likely make some edits to the classes.

General Reminder regarding your Trunk

With the start of a new year, new homeworks are rolling in and new abilities can be learnt. This will automatically result in trunk updates. So a quick reminder that we use a Standardized Trunk system. For all new and existing players a yearly reminder to please read the link HERE and to maintain a clean trunk. Should your trunk not meet the standard, we ask you to change it during your next trunk update submission by providing code.

We know, that the encyclopedia and its aesthetic is a very important part for most of our students, but we ask you to minimalize the code in your trunks in order to avoid breaking of code (as it happened in the past) and for easier administration. Hence we do not allow any additional coding that goes beyond what we have provided within the example codings.

Prizes:

Prizes will be given on participation/completion. Reaching a milestone will give you certain rewards. We have four milestones with stacking rewards.

Milestones:

• 3 art prompts: 1 HP
• 10 art prompts: 1 galleon; 1 HP
• 20 art prompts: 1 galleon; 1 HP
• 31 art prompts: 5 galleons; 1 HP; 1 gold frog cards

Rewards will be handed out in early November, as soon as we can.

Rules:

• No plagiarism, this must be your own work.
• This can be on any medium and can be interpreted broadly. Digital, classical and unique mediums are welcome.
• We might ask for your permission to use some of your art on the site to make things look pretty. You are free to decline.
• The art must be PG13 (this should go without saying but just in case).
• Fan art is acceptable as this is an out of character activity.
• These pieces are art are considered to be daily challenges but some are more complicated than others. The goal is to be done by the 31st.
