Hi, i'm pretty new, any advice for hogwarts.io?

Basically just follow the rules and you're good!
And don't forget to do the homework if you want the label under your characters name to change to "second year". Maybe I should take my own advice...

My advice: if you're having a tough time hitting the word count, describe everything in the scene!
Also, everyone here is very nice, so don't be afraid to jump into an open thread or to owl somebody to start one!

My advice is just have fun with the site! I was lost and confused when I first joined- don't hesitate to ask questions and make friends!
I can honestly say I have never met someone who wasn't willing to help out. Everyone here is super friendly, so like Cecily said, start an open thread or jump into an open one, or even owl someone about starting one!

Honestly, don't worry too much about accuracy to the harry potter backstory. My character is in a wheelchair for heck's sake. Just make sure you can think of a good reason behind everything. You really can't just say 'because magic' for a few important things. Like my character's backstory for the wheelchair is a nurse in training at St. Mungos messed up a spell and made his injury permanent.
So just make sure you have good reasoning behind your actions, is the main take away. It'll help you hit the word count too if you explain your reasoning sometimes.

I think they had a mentoring program as well, but I'm not sure if that's active anymore. Wish it was, because I've been thinking about signing up.
