i feel like i should explain children in need for non-british people so here we go
Children In Need is a charity which is organised by the BBC (British Broadcasting Service - essentially a free, advertisingless set of TV channels, radio stations, that sort of thing). Basically, every year (this year it's tomorrow) there's a day where loads of workplaces, schools, shops, TV shows, ect, do lots of fundraising for it. Many places do dressing up, or bake sales, or odd socks days - that sort of thing
