A few weeks ago due to issues some players have been having interfacing with other members of the community I wrote a post detailing some basics of interacting with other people. Things that people would commonly find rude and offensive. This is not an all-inclusive list but it does supply some basics that may be helpful for some people that seem to have difficulty navigating social mediums.

Welcome Nigel Read, our new Astronomy Professor! He comes to us all the way from Pennsylvania in the USA. As an Ilvermorny alumni, this will be his first time at the Hogwarts castle. Please congratulate him on the position as we welcome him to the staff team.

Summer Camp 2021 Info
As many of you know already - Summer Camp has now begun! IC, it takes place in August. However, we're opening up a number of threads earlier so you can all start roleplaying straight away (with forward-dated posts).
I recommend you don't forward any PV threads until the official calendar is revealed (in a few days) so you don't miss out on any events by double-booking yourself.
For now, we have revealed the 8 cabins and created a thread that takes place on the first day. For everyone's ease, full cabin lists are posted here - search your name.
If you applied for a cabin but your name isn't on the list, I probably just missed you so please let me know. If you are in a cabin with someone you requested not to be in a cabin with or have to leave for OOC reasons, let me know too.
Cabin sign-ups are still open. You can sign up at any time, we will allocate you into a cabin when we can.
Please also check the first post in the thread for other activities and 'bookmark' the thread as there will be more information revealed very soon - including a better description of the campgrounds and everything non-cabin related, as well as more activities.

As previously announced, this summer will feature an epic showdown between the reigning duelling champions of Hogwarts, the Viridian Vipers, and any duellists from visiting schools brave enough to challenge them!ATTENTION INPC DUELLISTS
We are looking for 15 iNPC duellists to face off against Hogwarts' most venomous Vipers!
Sign-ups are open through July 24th, more information can be found here.

Summer Camp 2021 Info
Your in-character schedules, the description of the camp and several more activities & events have now gone up live for you to start enjoying. We have also updated the original posts. There's quite a bit up now so there's the summary version:

The Good, The Bad and The... Uh? I only have two.
The Bad:
Since bad news always seems to come in threes - not pairs, obviously - I am sad to announce that Nico Shymane will be stepping down from the Slytherin prefect team for personal reasons to focus on real life. For over two years, Nico has been a part of the team, working hard behind the scenes in her prefect duties as well as other internal staff teams. It will be sad to see her go but we wish her the very best. We hope to see you around in roleplays, Nico!
Since the applications for the last prefect only very recently closed, we opted to pick from all those that applied - rather than reopening them all for several weeks. The preference, this time, went to a female candidate in order to balance the team out once more.
The Good:
With this, we are very pleased to announce that we have offered the role to Santario Martin, who has accepted it now. As many of you already know, Santario was formerly the Head of Ravenclaw, as well as Astronomy Professor. She has ample experience as a moderator and we're very excited to welcome her back onto the staff team in this new role.
I just wanted to also say, thank you to everyone who applied previously. These choices are very hard to make and we are very lucky enough to have so many amazing candidates.

Koldovstoretz suffred terrible losses due to an unanticipated terrorist attack in Hogsmeade where 17 died and 8 others were injured. Dervish and Banges, a well-regarded shop many of the students frequented on a day trip was targeted and an explosion cost Koldovstoretz most of their quidditch team as well as several promising young wizards. Their losses were profound and it was our wish to not compound their sorrow with a canceled game, so as an expression of cooperation and opportunity for making new connections while honoring the memory of those we have lost the quidditch players from the other schools in attendance at this summer camp will play in a three-way quidditch match of the likes the wizarding community has never seen before.

Speed Racer
There is a large race between the schools. As the original broom racing sign ups were limited and some houses never had a chance to sign up for broom racing (normal restrictions of being in 1 sport apply). Please sign up by August 8th if you are interested in racing, Hogwarts students will likely be split between 2 teams to keep things even and fair.
