my laptop is running hot since the recent christmas update. is anyone else experiencing the same issue? it may not be hio... just a 2+ year old laptop? can zach make an option to turn off snowflakes pretty please?

I don’t think so- maybe try checking if your computer is running a software for a long period of time.

idk, im currently working on writing a long post on a forum that has snowflakes on (london stadium) there isn't a software except chrome which im using, but yeah, maybe my laptop is just weak.

Since you already mention the snowflakes, have you tested the different sites? because some forum have animations on them, others don't. If that makes a difference, it might be the cause.
It seems to be a script, so maybe you could try a script blocker extension in the browser? But it might also block other things, so I give no guarantee. I am no tech expert.

it is the snowflakes! i tried closing them tabs leaving 1 non-snowflake hio one, letting it rest. then i got back to writing the draft (even turned of grammarly) within a minute the fan churns heavier. if im not on the snowflake tab the fan calms down. edit: also making my typing super slow ;-; i will just throw this in forum suggestions

any recs for script blocker extension? i shouldn't be such a boomer on this but i am. (i only have yasify and grammarly extension for some reason love that)

I can show you how to temporarily disable the snow but it'll be back as soon as you reload the site, click preview etc so it's a very temp fix no experience with script blockers here either

Right click on background, select "Inspect" (sorry mine's German lol)

Find the "snow" node (might be hidden in the background node)

Right click, "Delete element"


Don't worry about it saying delete, it's just in your local version of the site and will reset on reloading the site.
