Aurora Griffith wrote: 26 Nov 2022, 21:30 Are you allowed to apply for an ability even if it's been more than 30 days after your validation?
Yes, you get 1 for each school year! It doesn't matter when! <3
But remember to check prerequisites in the abilities, some say you can't get them unless you fulfill conditions.
The only one that has rules is you can only apply for a special talent/race within 30 days of being validated.
Alright, thanks! I'll apply for one today, probably!

Aurelia's right - HiO and PFR are two independently run sites/communities, having an account on one has nothing to do with the other.

I wanted it so my character actually has asthma, since in Hogwarts, it can’t have an attack, how about if I was at home or London?

Also, if I would like to do an rp with a prefect or professor, i would need to owl them correct?

To my best understanding, the student would be permanently healed once they enrolled at Hogwarts. So you can only RP Oliver having asthma before 1 September 2022. However, since your character is a half-blood, you'd also need to explain why your wizard parent didn't cure him by magic, and the reason must be reasonable. ("His wizard parent is too busy", for example, won't do.)

Alternatively, he could get a permanent condition caused by magical accident (potion or spell), but please bear in mind this must be approved by the site staff and thus you must re-register and wait for your application to get approved before RPing it.

Having eyes, but not seeing beauty; having ears, but not hearing music; having minds, but not perceiving truth; having hearts that are never moved and therefore never set on fire - these are the things to fear.

FAQ — Questions
Yes, what Marius said. Hogwarts is not a place where a condition is temporarily deactivated but healed for good. Your character would go home and be fine.
Permanent conditions must be registered and approved.

And yes, you need to ask a prof or prefect first before you can RP with them.

FAQ — Questions
On the matter of conditions --- you'd have to have a condition that a) makes sense not just in the mundane world, but in the magical world as well and b) would have to work on a satisfactory explanation for it. I know does seem kind of arbitrary, what with how many people wear glasses, and we don't seem to be able fix eye sight!

One person I would suggest talking to about the process, and maybe for some tips, is Shiawase Mamori. She uses a wheelchair.

FAQ — Questions
Myopia caused by an astigmatism would be naturally occurring and therefore "healing" someone to their natural state would not do anything as it is not a disease or an injury that needs to be healed. I can give a long lecture on asthma as well as a plethora of other conditions, but nobody will enjoy it. Rowling made the statement that everything is healed upon entering Hogwarts for muggleborns. There are some inconsistencies with this bit of lore as well as with other pieces of lore. My personal suggestion is to find a mid point.

FAQ — Questions
I was just wondering, is it too late to change my character description a bit? I was planning on making Eli autistic and have mild ocd but I didn’t really know if I should actually write it or not.
Edit: I also want to make it known that I do not plan on joking around with this as well. I have fully researched the topic and if anyone would like an explanation on why I wish to do this action feel free to owl me and I will explain my thought process and why I wish to carry on this action. If I have also offended anyone please let me know. I do not want any misunderstanding.
