There's also, in the profiles, when you have already created your encyclopedia and you are registered in the Index, the talents box, where there is the blood status, nationality, etc...
Some of these talents, I think, are given by the badges they earn. It isn't exacly a ability, it's something more like Adventurous or Science.

I hope I explained it all right- English isn't my first language.

At the moment we can't promise anything developed that is not critical for the site's functionality. But a player has recently created a tag system (in case you haven't seen it yet), which does pretty much what you've described. I've put my tags in my profile, which everyone can see now even without going to my ency. I think that's a nice thing to look at and try out. Let us change abilities if the abilities changed or the sub-system they are made for is revamped. These characters take years to develop and it's not system breaking to let us edit our character abilities if they've changed since we chose them. A lot of us have abilities that either don't work the way they used to or the mechanic they work in has changed around them.

If this was to be added, maybe put a warning on races that these cannot be changed even if re-designed since changing race would sort of be a bit too much of a deep removal. Races are already treated differently so no biggy.

Hey, Oliver!

Could you please point out the abilities that don't work the way they used to and the mechanics that were changed and caused abilities to work differently? We would take it into account to balance things out.

Advanced Casting, since critical hits are now their own separate thing done with a 1d10 and not connected to the 1d20 hit check anymore.

I read Monster Hunter also was written to work differently on some site areas but I haven't looked into this.

Systems and abilities are going to change as systems are made to be released. Then balanced. Almost every game has patches and updates. This game has abilities that apply to systems that are still in development. That is a fact with these games. Will there be options to swap things out? Maybe... Eventually, but very limited if so. It takes a lot of work to manage the Index we have for players and this adds something to their load and would be done at the expense of consistency (for instance a player that was obnoxiously strong no longer is). The abilities are meant to flavor the character, not to min-max them. They are there so that we can have players play part Veelas and be a bit stronger physically than their peers and have some reflection of it. To let players engage each other in friendly spars. The community is not intended to be one where players can statistically enforce their will, hunt down other players.

I do not know anything about critical rolls no longer being a 20 on a 1d20, but that might be something being developed by someone in dueling or another system.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

Aurelia is the only one with the monster hunter ability that I know of. Most of the threads I do with the exception of event threads are planned and I've never enforced any character to be 'hunted'. But perhaps if you're afraid of something like that happening, I'd suggest changing the name of monster hunter to monster enthusiast or something else since 'hunter' implies hunting involved obviously (which is what I've been living/rping up to) I'm also pretty sure that no no one else are applying for this ability likely cuz they might think they're literally required to 'hunt' like aurelia or develop some prejudice against special races and it wouldn't be IC to have "monster" friends. : ) In my experience, generally, other players do have a more negative impression on Aurelia because of her Monster Hunter status even tho her intentions usually aren't that ill intended she only bloodbaited that ONE time. Tho monster hunter does def sounds way cooler! The +2 acc is great statistically and tbh really not that OP. I think it's prob the name or me/aurelia that is mostly the issue on this matter. By changing the name, we can def keep the 'flavour' and not leave the ability with much of an antagonistic appeal.

sorry about this mini essay. i just had to cuz i love this ability and probs cuz this directly concerns the only monster hunter in hogwarts
