@Jack Warren
It was hard to miss Jack, considering the fuss that he was leaving in his wake. Pulling herself up, Asteria waited for her new friend, ready to dash with him. When his hand closed around hers, she grinned, letting herself be pulled along. The whole thing felt like a game of tag. Sure there were more serious consequences at the end of it, but in the heart of the moment, she couldn't quite find it in her to care.

"So," she said, panting slightly, still running alongside him, "I know some pretty great hiding spots outside? Wanna work out there? Appreciate the sunlight and get all of this over with? Maybe even plan something exciting for the future?" A future. A plan. It all felt somehow alien, but she was excited. The whole thing felt like being home again, like she had never left her friends and their after school games. Being serious was such a drag sometimes.

There was a tug in her stomach, a gentle sort of thing that felt like gossamer bubbles. It was a strange kind of hope, but one that she clung to eagerly. Laughing, found herself at the door of the Library, ready to dash off and away. Who could have guessed the kinds of excitement that a simple group project would have brought? Not her, that's for sure.
Asteria Kurokawa leaves the thread.

everybody crashes - you take a little damage, you'll spit a little blood, but we'll always manage love, cause everybody does
