i just wanted to be one of the strokes

"Oh, ya like Wyatt more? Me too, he's me favorite, real goofy," He sniffed, rubbing his wrist with a chirpy hum, listening to her speak rather halfheartedly. He didn't know why he was so... blank, all of a sudden. Maybe it was just him caving in to his social anxiety, or maybe he was just... out of social spoons. Yeah, he thought that ought to be the right symptom. He was tired, maybe he'd just put his head down right here and take a nap, pretend to be a drunk young chap for convenience. Maybe some old bastard with nothing to do would pick him up and take him away from Hogwarts, so he'd never be seen again.
"Realleh? Donovan, huh... doesn't quite ring a bell, but I might have ta go see him, ask him ta marry me, ha," He raised his eyebrows, setting his elbow on the counter, his cheek in his hand. "Mm, say, do ya think there's sumefin' in the air? I'm all tired all ov a sudden, you feel tha'?" He used his free hand to rub his eye, huffing like a pouty child. He could see himself in this situation, huffy and puffy over having to communicate as regular people do.... that said, being a human could be so exhausting. He wished he was a cat.
What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.

《 [font=comic sans] @Gem Stuart 》"Not if I ask him to marry me first." Aphrodite said with a laugh, actually imagining her asking him that. If she was being honest, he was pretty cute. Again, too old for her; but cute.
Aphrodite then took note of his eyes, seeing a slight fade in them- like it was hard for him to concentrate. Although Aphrodite hadn't been tired, she knew it had still been late outside, late enough for those to get sleepy she guessed. It was funny, though, seeing him trying to stay awake and listen to what she was saying while half asleep.
"Mm, yeah, It's gotten a bit late. I think I'm gonna head out." She said, a twinge of sadness still wanting to continue the little talks they had. There was always another time though, right? She could meet up with him another day, and have a slightly less-awkward encounter the second time around. She seemed satisfied with that, so she picked up her coat, and brought her eyes back to his.
"Remember; Friends- and allies on the side." Was all she could think of saying as she pushed open the bar door, leaving into the cold night.Aphrodite Bloom has left the thread

It seemed like Aph had finally caught on the effect that the weight of gravity had on Gem's eyelids, though he'd hardly been able to catch it when she said so. His mind wandered effortlessly, he figured it would be nice to tether it to a pole and let it stay in place for once in his life so he'd have a proper response instead of the nonsense that spilled out of that mouth of his. His father always asked him how it was possible for him to write so eloquently, only for his ability to speak to be rubbish. He wondered too.
"Mmh, yeh? Right, might as well head back too, we've got class t'mrrow anyhow," He yawned, his hand moving up his face to press into his left eye, leaving him seeing colorful bursts of light. Phosphenes, he thought, discovered in ancient Greece. "I'd walk ya back, but I've got some shite ta settle wiv the bartender. Right dickhead, he is-" He took a sneaking glance at the bartender, who shot him an ugly stare. He shrunk back, lifting a hand in apology. "Sorreh."
"Ehm, ri-right. Friends, allies onna' side. See ya." He lifted a hand to wave her goodbye, but she'd already walked out the door like nothing. How curious, he thought, taking a final sip of his butterbeer.
Eugh, sweet.
