Quinn cocked his head at the mention of the card game. "Twenty-five and switch? That doesn't sound familiar to me. Perhaps ye can teach me it some time" He stopped near one of the taller trees. "Well since ye asked me aboot 'em ah must oblige." He smirked and started to collect his thoughts on the matter. It felt nice to talk about hobbies and wants. It was kind of therapeutic in many ways if he really thought about it but...focus Quinn!

Right tabletop explanations. "Mkay so in 'e simplest terms Tabletoop gamin involves playing games on a surface or table. Think board games and the like, but hehe... it's way more then at ya know?" He paused for a second to figure out best way to explain it. "Hmmmm...okay so easiest way to explain this is. That there are another type of tabletop games called Table Top Role Playing Games, or TTRPG. Unlike normal board games tabletop games very much involve things like dice rolling, character sheets, some involve maps, and other things like battle maps an stuff. An example would be the oh so famous Dungeons & Dragons." He further explained shifting the weight he had to the other foot before leaning carefully against the tree.

"It's a bit crude but that's what they are basically. It would be easier to show you. But there are limitless possibilities with em an there are so many different tabletop games out there"

She was a little surprised that he had never heard of that game before but then again not everyone played card games either. Now she wished that she had a deck of cards on her. “I’d love to!” The wheel started turning in her head because Quinn was Irish and San did get to go to Ireland during the summers sometimes so maybe she could suggest that they get together when she was there. Then he started to talk about tabletop games and it pulled her out of her thoughts as she listened to him talk. When he mentioned that it would be easy to show her she made a noise agreeing with him. “Well, you’re from Ireland, yeah? So I am there for some portions of the summer if you don’t have the things here that we would need I could totally visit you or you could visit me and you could show me what this is all about.”

It would be the first time that she would ever really be getting to visit another family and or even have another person visit her so the thought, either way, was exciting. “We could do both too because if you come over to see me at my grandparents we can play card games. They are the ones that taught me.” The excitement was very clear in her voice as she spoke to him. She grabbed onto the tree that he leaned against and leaned down on the side so that he could at least somewhat see her face. “You could try my Nana’s Soda Bread Pudding!!!” Some of her raven hair fell into her face and she tried to blow it out of the way, but when that didn’t work she swooped the locks back with her free hand.

Her enthusiasm was a breath of pleasant fresh air on a warm summer's eve. It excited him to no end, but even more it brought joy to his often chaotic mood. Now what was this about pudding? It sounded deliciously sweet. So tantalizing and tempting. He could not resist. His weakness once again taking hold of his decision making. "Dat sooehnds sweet and deliciooehs. 'ow cooehld I pass oehp sahmethin so nice sooehndin. Especially when you ahffer oehp to me." He looked around casually staring out at the lake.

But being a decent distance from the shore and being in such a good mood he found the scenery surprisingly...calming. However that feeling lasted all of about 30 seconds before his fear crawled back up out of the depths of the hell that was his mindscape. Causing the young Half-Giant to turn around and stare out into the small forest instead. "Well oehm sahrry abooeht dat oehh soehdden toehrnabooeht...toehrnarooehnd i mean. A-Anyway poehddin sooehnds great. I'd lahve to meet ya family."

Quinn quickly added trying to focus on something else again. Turning back around to face the water was a terrible idea, but that brief moment of serenity was worth it...maybe.

She followed his gaze to the lake it was beautiful and serene, but her attention was returned to him just in time for her to notice that he was about to move. She quickly let go of the tree and balanced herself with the other hand of hers on his forehead. She caught the slight stutter as he tried to change the subject back away from his apology. “They would love you because you’re pretty great if I do say so myself. And she most certainly did. So the tallboy was afraid of the lake everyone was afraid of something.

“Quinn? Do you want to talk about it? Sometimes talking helps, but if you don’t want to you know I’ll respect that. We could go back to the castle instead?” She figured at least suggesting getting away from the lake would be better than standing to close to it, and he could give it a wide birth and not really even have to walk next to it at all if he wanted to.

Presuming he didn’t remove her from his shoulders for even suggesting that he talk about his fear of the lake she would return to her position of setting her chin on the top of his head and looking out into whatever direction that they were facing at that time. “I jump into my bed every night because I always feel like something is going to grab at my feet even though logically I know there is nothing under my bed.” She offered a fear of hers even if it was silly it was still there and maybe it would help him to feel better knowing that she was afraid of something too.

"Nae ah woould raether naet...besides...nevermind." There was clearly more that he wanted to say, but then quickly refused to say for one reason or another. Perhaps once the two knew each other better and grew closer that Quinn might finally open up. Without putting on his carefully crafted if sometimes nonsensical facade that he showed to everyone but a few.

His thoughts were cut off by her confession. It surprised him honestly. True he barely knew Santario but at the same time from what he could observe Quinn didn't take her for one to be afraid of the dark. Especially considering where they all presumably slept. Color him surprised, this was a most interesting development. "Really now? Well ah guess...ah guess that makes my..." He trailed off.

His legs kept moving further and further away from the lake and closer to the castle. For a solid minute he didn't speak but if she could see his face. Then it would be clear that he was deep in thought as if having a very heated mental debate. "...I suppose that makes my fear of the water rather silly in comparison huh?" He smiled. It was a forced one that he put up in an attempt to appear comfortable revealing said information.

Santario knew when not to push and it was clear that she was starting to toe a line that she shouldn’t cross. He would talk about it when he was good and ready. As they walked toward the castle, he seemed deep in thought but seeing his face wasn’t going to happen from where she was perched on his shoulders, not while keeping her balance anyway. She wondered if he was having a conversation in his head with whoever it was that she could not see.

She pondered why kind of conversation he could be having if he was one. Maybe she had crossed a line without knowing that she had crossed it. It was then that he spoke again calling his fear silly. She frowned and sat up straight now. “Hm, no I disagree, my fear is irrational because I know nothing is under my bed. Water… Water can be scary and destructive. I think for now though maybe we should talk about this later.” She could tell that he didn’t want to talk about it and that was as far as she wanted to touch on it for the moment.

What could she bring up that wouldn’t be a touchy subject for him… She took a minute to think about it. “Oh! I heard that the Herbology Professor is going to need help with collecting herbs next month. Do you think you would like to help me do that?” There it was a change of subject to hopefully get him not thinking about quidditch or water.

She didn't press him further on the issue, and in fact offered another change of topic. Hell for all she saw of him today which was more then he wanted to ever share first meeting a person. But Sanrio took it well, she didn't push him from what he could tell and was...accommodating to his need to not divulge much. It was kind and it was sweet. His small gesture of faith in revealing something extremely personable and shameful yielded him catching a glimpse at hos she was.

He gripped her legs a little less tightly and picked up the pace. It might be a bit random but it would come up sooner or later so he might as well get used to telling people. Sanrio proved her trustworthiness to Quinn. At least enough for him to say what he was going to say. "'eh well if you dahn't mend 'avin a 'alf-giant accahmpany you den i dat'd be great!"

He did his utmost to play it off as casually as he could. His smile returned and body began to relax too. "You know me grandmahther is a pretty famooehs 'erbahlogest. I sadly never gave it moehch study boeht I might start askin 'er mahre abooeht it. I'm sure she 'as sahme incredeble stahries and facts ya know?" He further explained leading them away from the lake and back finally towards the castle. The day had actually ended up turning into a surprisingly pleasant day. Plus he made a new friend!

Quinn had said previously that he wasn’t human, but she hadn’t inquired further into what exactly he was. She hadn’t thought the time had been right given what was happening in his head. Though it would appear that Quinn had been comfortable enough around her to tell her that he was a half-giant. “Well I have not minded so far I don’t see why I would then either.” Considering Quinn didn’t suddenly turn into a half-giant she didn’t see why it would matter what he was when he accompanied her to help. He had been when she met him, and he was now so it was simply that he was just Quinn.

He mentioned his grandmother and she grinned. “I would love to hear any stories you get from her.” Herbology was one of the classes she was passionate about because you needed to learn how to grow and care properly for your ingredients otherwise you wouldn’t make as quality of potions. This had indeed been a good day and although it had started out a little awkward, she got to walk away from it with a new friend. Well… Carried away but that made their new friendship all the more interesting.
